    Thanks, you get to a point when there's only so much you can do in a VM and I have a macbook with soldered ram and ssd so running VMs is a pain because im running an OS as well. It's much nicer to dual boot. If I could triple boot (have windows too) and not the ARM version of windows, then I would have everything I need all in one laptop (I unfortunately need to use some windows-only software sometimes). This was a great video. Quick question, is there an uninstall script? or do we just wipe that partition if we decide to revert back to MacOS only?

    I've successfully booted Ubuntu on my M2 MacBook Pro 2022.
    One thing I've noticed that isn't working though, is the camera.
    One big drawback with using Ubuntu on Apple silicon is that many third party apps aren't available as native ARM64 binaries; which results in a slower execution speed.
    I did also experience some GUI glitches.

    Thank you for this guide! Its amazing what Asahi Linux team has accomplished here and its good Ubuntu jumped on the board. However Apple deserves a BIG F$*K YOU! for their neverending locked & blocked mindset not seeing what potential Linux community has and where it could bring their still quite expensive machines in comparison to Windows. At least Apple could finally realize their UNIX based MacOS is an older brother of the Linux and that it deserves to know be compatible to promote UNIX/Linux based machines in comparison to Windows. Instead Asahi LInux team with help of other developers have to unlock Mx chips by slow process of reverse engineering.
    Apple - you are so rich and "independent" that you forgot what is your place in the industry! Shame on you!

    • @mauleyzaola
      @mauleyzaola ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Although I kind of agree with you, I think you're missing the point that Apple has a lot of money and they basically don't care about users. At least, not in the last years.
      I am installing Ubuntu on a MBA M1. If I can have my dev env working there, that's enough for me.

    • @El.Duder-ino
      @El.Duder-ino ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mauleyzaola Sure thx, but you are in a way basically repeating what I said in the end that because Apple is so RICH they don't have to care about Linux community and help them to use full potential of their custom made HW.
      I don't like their calculated and untrusty behavior of needing open source or Linux communities when they r in trouble like in the past like 90s after Jobs return or when they need some cool feature they don't want to spend money on.
      I think they should look in the future and realize that even Mx chips will eventually hit the limit with the performance per Watt while their machines will most likely won't get cheaper. This means they should consider adding to their user base new loyal non Windows community which is on the rise also thx to Valve and other BIG companies. Most of devs/programmers I was in touch with r using Mac and I am sure they'll welcome Macs ability to run Linux natively with very good results judging from the results so far.
      Instead they completely ignore another potential to expand and grow in popularity because they are RICH enough and they don't need this or that... Honestly I don't understand Apple as a company. While on the hand they are super innovative and inspirational, on the other they completely destroy that potential with their corporate crap like any other ultra rich global corporation.
      I think Jobs was more of a rebel and anti corporate even he proved to be an asshole as well, but at least had some will to change something and push forward while this Cooks attitude is completely calculated/safe corporate approach missing any middle finger rebel humanity which was once Apple's "think different" way of thinking and attitude.
      Its a shame they r just another corporate player while they have all what they could possibly wish for to continue with the "revolution" they once promised to people. I think they lost it and became more of a milking cow and not a star they once were. Yes I agree, this is a logical evolution to become fat milking cow, but if u look in the past and history, all companies which relied way to much on this comfortable state eventually lost it. First by loosing original mindset and philosophy by getting rid of the company founders and then by completely changing itself to something else... a transformation which in Apple's case is full of crap, same like their claims of being green and so on...
      GO ASAHI & Linux open source community which is truly only independent and free community in the IT space!👏👏👍👍

    • @kskroyaltech
      @kskroyaltech  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Agreed with your point, thats why to bring a new linux update, Asahi team has to work day and night to crack. Apple is apple, they don't care anything except macOS.
      I am happy at least Microsoft is officially confirmed windows 11 is coming to Mx chips.

      @@kskroyaltech When did they confirm that?

    • @El.Duder-ino
      @El.Duder-ino ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kskroyaltech Thx👍 Apple should recognize in my opinion that its strength lies not just in allowing M$ to access its HW, but also allowing open source Linux community to enter its closed proprietary zone! They could do it possibly same way as Nvidia by creating proprietary drivers if they are suspicious some secret about how their HW leaks or is revealed, but as you can see this can be done by reverse engineering/cracking. So in my opinion is loosing its best ally especially when Linus is gaining on strength and popularity thx primarily to Steam and others. Apple could do more and in my opinion they are no longer innovators, which they were with Jobs! No longer those "misfits" and "rebels" or pirates (of the Silicon Valley): th-cam.com/video/GEPhLqwKo6g/w-d-xo.html

    hey man i got some error when resize partition
    error resizing output error:
    "Resize failed. This is usually caused by pre-existing APFS filesystem corruption.
    Carefully read the diskutil logs above for more information about the cause.
    This can usually be solved by doing a First Aid repair from Disk Utility in Recovery Mode."
    I've run First Aid in recovery mode on all the partitions, but when I run it again the results are the same. Please help, by the way this is a first-hand MacBook, I bought it at the official Indonesian store, and I've never had a clean install.

    • @kskroyaltech
      @kskroyaltech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Resizing a partition sometimes raises an issue internally on APFS, you need to run first aid from the recovery mode to fix the issue. I had the same problem on MBPro, the problem was forever. I reinstalled macOS and never had such issue.

Because 1 have 1 Tb and almost all space is used for just this course which makes me very angry "Resizing will free up 879.48 GB of space". Can I remove this all 879.48 installing thing later on? Is it easy to remove it fully? If yes, is it just deleting in GUI or by terminal

    (th-cam.com/video/aXh_d1OixRI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=krfxMdpAnNjTASy7&t=377)
    Is that a one time risk, or do I permanently render my system less secure while Ubuntu is installed? In what way does it become less secure; what risks do I expose my computer to? Also, can I turn off "Permissive Security" again at a later stage and make my system more secure again while keeping Ubuntu? Does the "Permissive Security" setting correspond to the padlock icon in the startup disk screen at 9:48 "Click to prevent further changes"?
