I don't really watch lets plays or anything of the sort, this happened to pop into my recommended feed. The way you show so much respect, love and take your time with this game, even showing off the instruction manual, actually getting into the mood and learning to understand what this is all about was very sweet and unique; I've never seen someone do that. @Wes36Man Yes it does. If you‘ve never watched a playthrough up until now, you would of course never have seen anyone do it (regardless of whether other let’s players do it or not) 😁
Seeing Kasta finally giving RE1 a go is such a perfect ending to October! This was the first horror game I ever played as far as I can remember. It was also the first game we bought along with our PS1, and my brother had told me about the game earlier, but I couldn't even imagine that it was in 3D as I was used to Super Nintendo etc. The first zombie encountered in the hallway made my brother and I pause the game, run around the house and turn on all the lights because we got so scared. The impact of the game in 1996 as a kid was huge and effective. I had the exact reaction (6:20:24 ) back in 1996 when the Hunter first appeared. Such a scary moment! This playthrough is gonna be so fun to watch through!
I genuinely love how exited she is experiencing games the way we used to, I feel like we’ve become so jaded that we don’t even pay attention or appreciate things like we used to back in the day, but seeing her get exited about the live action scene and reading the manual, appreciating the graphics for the era. It feels like I’m watching someone play these games for the first time back in the 90s!!
You're going to be in for a treat when you eventually get to the RE1 remake from 2002. That game's pre-rendered background art held up for well over a decade.
@@visionist7 It's actually not a glitch. They changed the pitch of a handful of tracks to play in the same key as the original compositions from 1996. Hey Kastaclysm, I'm a day one RE player. I absolutely love watching your videos. You highly entertain me, especially with your takes with the RE games. I do facepalm often tho lol but you do great and I hope you stay amazing always. 🧟♂️💚 great walk-through 🥰
Oh boy, the OG Resident Evil. And throwing out an 11 hour video to boot? I've said this before but it remains true, you're an absolute machine Maggie and the world is a better place because you make videos for TH-cam. Happy Halloween and cheers. Oh and if a 2 disc game blows your mind, wait until you get into Final Fantasy 8 & 9. Those are each 4 disc games.
Ah, the memories. I was maybe 4 or 5 when I first played this. Born 94 so seeing this series evolve as a child all the way until adulthood has been pretty cool.
@@Juhani96 I know, right?! I mean, it's a simple enough game, but I remember how traumatized I was seeing the movie The Fly when I was 5, and games are more impactful to me, so ... Very impressive
the past couple days ive been watching this on and off and 5hrs and 25mins in i like how you just pick up on things quick. glad you can appreciate the OG games.
Hi It was so sweet and unique that you put so much respect, love and time into this game, you even showed a tutorial, you actually got into the mood and understood what it was all about. Thank you for treating the old classics with the respect and interest they rightfully deserve, and for showing how much you love video games. For reminding me of my youth. I'm searching the world for a video player to finish Resident Evil 1 with a hard knife. My friend died in 2008. no save no damage. Greetings from Azerbaijan
I actually never played RE games. I do like to keep my comments to the game at hand, but an exception had to be made. After seeing the game intro, I immediately had wonderful flashbacks. This brought me to a time when I was playing MOH and MGS. I just wanted to thank you for bringing back such great memories.

It's fascinating to watch someone who is playing without cheating, I felt like I was going back in time. Congratulations on the gameplay.
I played this game when it came out back in the day. Back then i was like 11 and my cousin was 13. He just brought this game over and we had to restart the game sooooooo many times because we ran out of ammo and could not figure out how to use the knife without dieing. It is a wonderful thing, playing this game the first time. Try & error, and not too easy. We were scared like mad, i could not play this alone, back then. The beautiful creepy soundtracks still scare me to this day. Nice to see you enjoy such an old game so much. Now that you played through this, i really hope you are going to play the Remake of Resident Evil 1 too. It is an awesome Remake and they magnificently captured the original too. The graphics are still good today, and it is impressive, especially for the time the Remake came out.
We were all blown away by the into and the play of the game. The fact that they used actual actors for the intro was so cool at the time. This game was so different in so many ways, like the use of puzzles, and the unforgiving learning curve.
I watched all 11 and a half hours of RE Dcut. one of my favorite games. from a RE vet, I love your gaming style, especially how you work through puzzles. Looking forward to more content like this.
Played this gem of a game back in 1996 as a 14 year old, Me and my best friend was quickly scared shitless! You play it the way we did and how it is meant to be played, reading every line and checking out everything! Good job! ps.. If you take the shotgun without replacing it the roof in the other room will come down on you as you enter it...
This is a treat. I remember my brother getting this and becoming even more terrified of this game. Then the renake happened and lisa traumatized me all over again. Also the emense joy i had when other TH-camrs tracked the actors down and now there are so many interviews not to mention the KEEPERS DIARY made by the residence of evil casting the real life action chris Redfield in this game as the keeper in the keepers diary. I highly recommend you watch it. ❤ Thank you for this playthrough
You're definitely not Gen Z-you've got the Millennial seal of approval 😊. Congratulations 😂😂😂! The way you maneuver the characters despite the unintuitive cameras is beyond human skills. Bravo!
Baby, Imagine growing up in the 90s like i did and watching a game like this for the first time. The intro itself scared the hell out of me. That was just the beginning...
Seeing you fall in love with this game (one of my favorite franchise) by the intro alone and enjoy it like many of us did and still do when we first saw it gained you a subscriber. 🖤
This is like the best thing ever. You’re my favorite and playing my favorite game ever and playing as Chris!!! People always pick Jill but Chris is my 🐐. So awesome
FINALLY had time to watch this in full. Phew! I loved every minute of every hour. Compliments to your voice, as always. It's been AGES since I had last seen the manual for the Playstation version of this game. I only ever owned the PC version, whose manual is largely similar, but of course geared towards installing the game on your PC, etc. Though I had seen friends playing Resident Evil 2, my first experience actually playing the series was this game. I have to admit that I needed a walkthrough because my brain had trouble keeping track of the myriad of doors; which were open, which were closed, which had symbols on them, all that. It's led to a love affair with this series that has gone on for almost 25 years now. Hope you enjoy the series! Also, the fan community pooled their resources together and FOUND the actors in the live scenes! The actors who played Chris, Barry, Wesker, Rebecca and Joseph have all been delightfully accepting of the community, though Jill's actress has asked for her privacy, so we respect that. Anyway, thanks for another amazing video. All the best!
I really enjoyed watching this playthrough. I am about to play every RE game from RE0 to Village. Cant wait. Thanks for sharing your enjoyment of this legendary video game.
watched this on and off over a week or so and loved it. This was the 1st and best Resident Evil game I ever played. I must go and play it now lol thanks for filming and sharing :)
It's refreshing to see a gamer spend time exploring every detail of the game. When i first played this I clicked on absolutely everything just incase i missed something. I just loved how detailed the resident evil games were. Hope she does this with resident evil 2
Just so you know this was and maybe is still, my favorite game ever. I used to play on a friends PlayStation, and he didnt own a memory card to save . Its cool seeing you dig into this. Very beautiful as well.
It was my favorite game at the time, and the sole reason I bought my PS1. But the game has not aged well. I don't remember the graphics being that bad. The first time I saw a clip of the game on TV, I thought it looked almost like real life. I like the HD remaster. I'm assuming you already played that one.
A sweet lady playing my favourite franchise and my third favourite game in the series for the first time? I'll be watching your career with great interest.
Residence of Evil has a channel here and they have actually reunited all of the original video cast with the exception of Jill and Joseph. The reunited cast are working together to make new fan made videos as their original characters. Whats really hard to believe is that until recently none of the actors knew how big the franchise has become and that they are a permanent part of video game history.
ROE has done such amazing work bringing the cast back into the community. I felt this way about Metal Gear too. Hayter and Boss and some of the cast really getting involved. Everyone is always so gracious!
YESSSSSS! This game is in my top 10 of all time. Absolutely can't wait to sit and watch this, also I love that you look through the manual as well. Such cozy vibes.
I’m a huge fan of your work, you one of the few where a playthrough feels so authentic, and your mind is like a 1000 year old mind you absorb and understand things very quickly. And to add, ridiculously gorgeous, also regarding resident evil, the OG series 1-4 and code Veronica is leaps and bounds better than the remakes, it’s a completely different game design in terms of flow and pacing, people that haven’t played the OG series are missing out on life lol
I'm sorry but haha to see your face go from innocent enjoyment to OH Hell NO. when the hunter entered the game. it was priceless. The hunters are the single most feared enemies in most resident evil games. Their instant kill attacks are brutal!!!
I remember the nostalgia of buying a video game back in the day and on the way home your looking at the gamers manual on the inside of the case getting a sneak peak of what to expect with the game..dang I miss the 90s
Have you ever played Metal Gear Solid? I noticed you’re playing some older games, and I think you’d adore the characters and the twists and turns of the story through the compilation.
So the choice for Rebecca to stay or come with you,if she stays she becomes a health station. If she comes with you, you could get the shotgun without having the broken shotgun, if you end up there first. If she comes with, she either finds you at the piano or is there to try and save Richard. Also, too late to see Richard alive. 3:41:45 Youd have to reach this point within an hour and a half of starting; you have longer if Rebecca isnt occupied with a task for you like piano. If she is there with Richard, you can play her to save chris. If she is not, the save chris part is automatic. The piano question is whether to prioritize her ability to save you/be there with Richard, or unlocking that emblem room faster. By taking her with, she will set uo a health room in the cabin. If you left her behind, she'd be all alone when the hunters come, and could be killed.
The early 90s were a period in which a lot of game studios jumped on the FMV game train with live action (11th Hour, 7th guest, Toonstruck, etc.) but the intro for RE was even on release considered to be cheesy as hell (NoooooOoo! Don't gooo! *theatrical acting*). There is a series on YT which tried to find all voice over talents as well as the actors of the intro, as they were named only with their first name in the credits and even these names were partly not true. Capcom casted any American they could find in Osaka. Wesker's voice actor is a salesman for Japanese blades for example and Barry's was an English teacher iirc. However that's what made RE so charming, this b-movie flair and clumsy moments. Thanks for playing! :)
I work 10-12 hour shifts and this was awesome to watch during it, I'll probably never get a chance to play these older games and I thoroughly enjoyed this and the long format immensely ❤
This popped up in my feed and I’m so happy about it! The way you play putting so much attention and care into the game, mechanics, and story is so satisfying and makes me enjoy the video all the more. There are hardly players who do Let’s Plays like this nowadays so thank you for the effort and for sharing. Subscribing and checking other videos from time to time :)
The dogs in the hallway is one of the all time scary moments in video games. My dad bought this game on a whim back in the early days of PS1 and obviously Resident Evil was new back then. There I was casually running down the innocent looking hallway then BAM DOGS THROUGH THE WINDOW.
This is absolute gold. As an RE fan, I totally love your enthusiasm for the game and as a person, too friggin cute. Idk if you do ASMR, but you totally should. You have the perfect voice and vibes for it.
So stoked you did this one! I played this for the first time (the remaster) last October and thought it was a masterpiece. The mysteries, tension, level design are so intricately woven.
This is actually the first let's play I've really enjoyed watching. Usually the commentary is something I find irritating, but you give such a great vibe and it was great seeing your reactions as you discovered the original RE for the 1st time. Not sure if you've noticed it, but you've been playing the original, censored version. The "Advanced Mode" from the main menu is the Director's Cut. Also fun fact: recently there's been new interviews on YT with members of the original cast who were finally found & credited by fans after years of searching (both those who took part in live action sequences and also those who gave their in-game voices to the characters). Looking forward to see more of your amazing let's plays!
Mereceu minha inscrição, meu like, e compartilhei seu video pra galera alem de zerar esse classico é a mulher mais linda desse TH-cam para Kastaclysm traz mais jogos assim abraços
Resident Evil and FF7 are my 2 favorite games from when I was a young teenager. Watching you play this is nostalgia overload. Love the genuine enjoyment you displayed experiencing this. Can't wait to watch you play FF7 OG. I know it will be a long time before that happens, but excited nonetheless.
When you play RE 0, you find that Rebecca has done an entirely different Mansion/laboratory herself before this one. I'd be sleeping on the helicopter too
It’s really cool seeing someone enjoy this gem for the first time. I remember watching my older brother play this when I was 6 or 7 years old. Gonna have to check out your FFX play through next as it’s my favorite game 😊
I was 15 when Resident Evil dropped and with my family being horror fanatics, they bought it for me straight away. And I still get the same feeling I got back then, everytime I watch the first sequence. Incredible.
Great vid! I just found your channel, can't wait to watch your Jill run. It was so awesome seeing you figure stuff out & your reaction to it. Brings back SO many memories! This is the game that got me to switch from Nintendo to PlayStation. Been a fan ever since.
I remember 12 years old being scared out of my mind because of what the beginning is. That game is such a classic I love it. Played the heck out of it. I got the original version that has the green strip that says best hits. What I wouldn’t give to have that feeling again. That’s part of what is being a kid that being an adult takes away is you aren’t scared or anything.
You just popped up on my feed and Ive been a big resident evil fan since code Veronica at age 12. I think it's poetic because I'm also uploading my first ever let's play tomorrow :) looking forward to watching you play the first one for the first time it's so iconic.

Perfect attempt to play this classic with a clean slate! Though I do wish you had played it first. Or better yet RE Zero before this. BTW if you liked the this OG version of 1 you will love the HD Remake which is true to the OG just with better graphics. If you ever want to play all RE games in the correct order. The order goes like this 0 1 2 3 Code Veronica X 4 Revelations 1 5 Revelations 2 6 7 8
I have Resident Evil 1 PS1. I have the OG Resident Evil 2 and 3 PS1. I still have a PS2 too play the games. So awesome that you have the RE 1 Directors Cut.

Omg yess!!!😍 remember when my dad bought a ps1 and my mum wasn't impressed, until she played RE about 10 playthroughs. I got Crash bandicoot😂
Honestly your one of my favorite TH-cam gamer i enjoy watching them
Love the way you stream, your really good! Subscribed!😊
My favorite game of all time, im a big resident evil fan 😅 loved ur intensity and enthusiasm like i have for RE games, big fan
Not gonna lie, the ammo waste from not killing the zombies is stressing me out.
I’m with the other guy-Dino Crisis needs to be next! Let’s make it happen!
Love that game. I played it when it first came out on PSX back in the day.
I was 15 when Resident Evil dropped and with my family being horror fanatics, they bought it for me straight away. And I still get the same feeling I got back then, everytime I watch the first sequence. Incredible.
Great to see people still playing RE1 from 1996 😊
6:20:12 "And now that we cleared the mansion too, it should be easy peasy!"
Famous last words ever! Lmao!
😅
Great vid! I just found your channel, can't wait to watch your Jill run.
It was so awesome seeing you figure stuff out & your reaction to it.
Brings back SO many memories! This is the game that got me to switch from Nintendo to PlayStation. Been a fan ever since.
Just a few minutes in, but I think you’re my new favorite game reaction channel
The order goes like this
0
1
2
3
Code Veronica X
4
Revelations 1
5
Revelations 2
6
7
8
I have Resident Evil 1 PS1. I have the OG Resident Evil 2 and 3 PS1. I still have a PS2 too play the games. So awesome that you have the RE 1 Directors Cut.
