When I was younger I used to melt crayons in the microwave all the time to play with the wax and pour it in molds, I’m wondering if crayola changed their crayon recipe and made it more difficult to melt

When he made the seal for the letter, that was clearly sealing wax, not melted crayon. It is a very different substance and acts exactly like what was shown in the video. When you melt it, it beads up like his did, so that when you stamp it the seal has dimension and gets those rounded edges, which yours did not.
Also, aren’t you supposed to melt the wax directly over the letter so it actually seals then stamp it? I could be wrong, but I would think that if you do it on a separate surface and lift it off it wouldn’t stick. I guess you could glue the wax on the letter tho? Hmmmmm....
@@k15hw4rm3 I always thought they re-melted the wax on the back a little so it would stick to the letter. Like you'd melt the bottom of a thin candle to stick it into the holder.
How I’ve seen it people will melt the wax in a little spoon thing, pour it on the letter, and then stamp it with a metal stamp so then it sticks and seals the letter

@@k15hw4rm3 some people will glue or use double sided tape to attach premade wax seals. At that point its just for the convenient aesthetic, But yes an authentic wax sealed letter is with the wax melted onto the intended spot.
In regards to wax stamping, ALWAYS dampen your stamp before you stamp so the wax doesn't stick. It'll happen with expensive supplies too. All you need to do is just press it on your face. Yes, your face. Touch your stamp (or coin) to your cheek, and the oils will make it way less sticky :)
the hairdryer thing works very well on a canvas, and it can make beautiful things :) I did try it before many times!

A couple tips for wax seal making:
You need a handle on your seal, to lift it before the wax ix completely cooled down and hardened
Coating the seal with a tiny bit of oil helps prevent the wax from sticking
I just want to point out that the holotaco is BEAUTIFUL.I actually liked it better with the glitter but would have even considered adding resin. I love the glassy clear finish it gives

I've used candle wax for seals and it does work, but it looks different from sealing wax. Troomtroom swapped in sealing wax AFAICT.

Many many moons ago, I had crayons that ended up melting into a solid block. How? Because they got left in the car during a heatwave in Arkansas.

Buy a dollar glass just for crayons
I’ve heard that you actually do need to use a glass container because the glass itself heats up, which melts the crayons. Plastic won’t absorb the heat so it doesn’t melt. I could be wrong tho

I remember making custom crayons in 3rd grade by putting whatever colors I wanted on a tin foil bowl & letting the sun heat them
Instead of trying to scrape the dried up left overs I'm the cup, you could've put the cup back on the heat and melted the left over buts again. Then you could pour the extra out and then wipe out the rest because bits easier to wipe out a little bit of melted wax than scraping dried wax.
I love how you use a sharp object nearly everyday but cut yourself with a tape holder lol

I’ve been binge watching Jackie’s videos and I am obsessed to watch literally all her videos. I only usually like SOME video series from other youtubers and not watch ALL their content, but her cash or trash, crayola experiments, squishy unmakeovers, etc are iconic.
When I went to a G-Dragon concert I made a Crayon crown with yellow crayons. He has a song named "Crayon" and the fandom lightstick for his group is a yellow crown, I thought I was a genius

I used to have a comb I bought that came with colored wax attached to the comb that you could use to color your hair with. It did not have the same consistency as a crayon. It didn't show up well in dark hair. I think they still sell these.
I've bought something similar but it was chalk not wax

Sooooo basically me and my aunt will have a 5 min crafts sleepover every year, where we roast 5 min crafts. We tried this “Popsicle out of soda” hack witch didn’t work AT ALLLLL. lol
💜 For the crayons, try using a glass container that gets hot in the microwave. Plastic doesn't get hot. Also it's a lot easier to clean wax off of glass.
On your shirts, It will help a lot not to run it through the dryer.
turning it inside out will also help :)
We had a similar issue with sweatshirts we got from teespring. It was a defect in the material they put on. Didn't matter how they were washed. The decal actually started coming off after wearing them without washing. They remade them and it's been a year with no issues.

But the dryer is the process that kills the germs the most. Just turn it inside out. Never had a problem doing that.

Because a phone case has rounded edges and if you put the crayon paper inside, it would definitely crack conforming to the shape of the phone. Basically they knew their "hack" was trash, so they just stuck it on top and called it done.

I think I know why they used regular glue instead of hot glue. It’s probably because they are trying to make it so if you where in there setting, (a school to be exact) they use things around them like regular glue instead of hot glue or, if there was a fairytale setting they would use something “ fairy tale themed.” That’s why they used regular glue

Orange is my least favourite colour (I love all colours though) and when my son, who is obsessed with fire colours, learned this, he felt personally offended lol. When I have to pick a favourite, and I can't just say "rainbow" I pick purple.

The heat of the glass container is why the crayons are melting. Try using a glass container and not a plastic one ! Good luck !

For the wax seals, they probably added some glue gun sticks in with the melted crayon to get the consistency needed for a proper stamp seal.

LOOLL The pics of the shirts reminded me of a shirt I got from someone as a souvenir to the grand canyon. I washed it once and the entire applique design on the front just... peeled right off in chunks the size of my hand. xD I didn't care much for the design anyway so I just peeled it off entirely and kept wearing it.. the applique sucked, but the fabric of the shirt was SO soft and nice.
The piping bag shouldnt melt, to be honest, but if it does, then there us something wrong with the piping bag.

Just a little bit of information - I have an Arts And Crafts dedicated glassware set, and the reason they were able to melt crayons in the microwave is ONLY BECAUSE they used glass. Because it holds heat so well. But that also means you have to use a potholder or some form of protector between your hand and the glass container, so even though I feel like this is more of a children's craft, it is FAR from kid friendly to actually create. Whether they use adults to display these things or not, they're more or less to be attractive for children.
