I particularly like that you not just give fast lap guides, but give insight on passing corners and race strategy. Not sure I will be doing this week (want to try to work on FIA races). Thanks again!
As luck would have it i'd been testing cars on this track to pick which manufacturer to go for, i chose Mercedes in the end as it was (for me) one the fastest around here along with a few others, i did initially get my fastest time with the merc but then beat that with a 1:58.9 in the Lexus GT3 which i was quite pleased about until i saw the Alien laps but i think i can shave some more off ( hopefully) especially with the help of your track guide, it's the little details can make so much difference sometimes, cheers David.

Hm, I'm still new to this game. Is the R8 one of the slower cars in these types of non-tuning events? I'm in the 1:56's with the R8, but I met a chap in a race with the 911 and he was just pulling away on the exits of some of the corners. I feel like we were taking similar lines, but his best lap was about 4 tenths of of mine...
Hey man, the R8 is a fast car, especially in a straight line, but it's very nervous on corner entry which makes it difficult to get a perfect lap out of it. Most people complain about snap oversteer and a difficulty to get on the power with it. But if you can master it you will be fast.
@@DavidPerel David Perel Thanks for the reply, haha, and yeah, even when setting the traction control to 1 or 2, the snap oversteer is still there in second gear. Oh, and I went back over my laps and I'm still in the 1:57's with this car 😂. You can actually help this with tuning, but with these events you can't even touch the suspension, let alone the transmission. That's what makes things difficult. But yes, I think I'll keep using this car. I love the R8 :)
With the R8 I always recommend gearing down as late as possible during corner entry. Wait for those revs to drop a lot before going down to the next gear. It seems to help with stability.

Thanks for the tip :) Maybe using a bit more trail braking while exaggerating the delay in downshifting into the corner would help my laptimes a bit more. Now that I think of it, I actually started catching that guy I mentioned earlier doing this, particularly at one of the hairpins at Nurburgring...
While the leaderboards are getting swarmed by the R8 and the 911, i have a 1:55.942 in the Z4 GT3... it's more of an achievement in that thing than actually setting a good lap in the 1:55s IMO 😂👍
@@Zer033_ It's a combination of braking later and also trying to carry more speed through the corner towards the apex. But do it slowly and patiently. Don't brake at 200m on lap 2 and then 100m on lap 3. It should be more progressive.
David Perel I’ve managed to bring my lap time down to a 1:58.075 and now always qualify in top 3 if it’s not pole position :D, now it’s time to get it in the 57’s.

im following the exact line and pushing it but cant seem to get under a 1:59.6, i suck at this
Step 1 is to brake early so you can get the perfect Apex and then slowly build up speed from there. Same lines but progressively faster.

Agreed, 1.55.4 is my potential best in the Porsche. Going to give it another shot today.
