This was helpful, thanks. Interesting perspective, about real racing at new tracks, too. Thanks for sharing. (Captured a 2nd place in my first FIA race at Sardegna in part thanks to your guide help!)
Great video David, you've got one of the best racing channels on youtube right now, I'm loving the technical insight you give in your videos for us desktop nerds who aspire to drive cars in real life! I've just started karting myself and feel like the simulators have helped a lot!
Another great track guide. Your last guide for Dragon trail seaside literally gave me the edge I needed to win my FIA round even though I had to do a one stop as the Mitsubishi is very bad at fuel saving and straight line speed, but excellent when it comes to tyre wear and a very good if somewhat twitchy handling car. The part that helped me most was at turn 5 (the 90° left at the top of the hill... nearly everyone else, including the likes of Tidgney took it in second, but I noticed you taking it in third. It did wonders for setting me up into & out of the left at the bottom of the back "straight" as you liked to call it. I could comfortably push at 95% through the whole track, lifting off a very comfortable amount through the chicane of death and having the mix of better tyres and less fuel meant I lost minimal time in the pits (though I was down to 6% fuel at lap 5). Those who overtook me while I was in the pits I was able to overtake before the beginning of lap 6. I won by a comfortable 4 seconds, just cruising the last 2 laps at maybe 90%. I'm really looking forward to you helping me with many bad habits I know I have. Keep up the awesome content and I look forward to watching you race irl. Going to have to buy some Rinaldi and any other merch you have to decorate the streaming room I'm building this very moment.
I road raced motorcycles. This was before Gopros and track days. Finding anything on a new track was hard AF! VIR had some stuff and RD Atlanta. Small tracks you had to find a layout and print it. If got there early you would try to walk it or ride a bicycle.
LoL at non PS4 poster, but commendable support. Great guide for quali lap. Have a care on the high small curbs. They really upset the vehicles and some can pull you out further than you intended causing a penalty. Also might show a run in the Ferrari if you get a chance. It's a fuel saver vs max speed race.
I keep getting third in daily race c with a 1:22 quali. That second to last left corner that requires a lift always catches me out in the race. I think its time to relieve the dualshock controller of its GT sport duty and get a wheel :p
Hey David, hext time you'll be in Misano, let me now, i can guarantee you pizza delivery to the box with a nice cold beer. Best regards, congrats on 24h race. Following you with lots of interest and thank you for the awesome tips and lessons.
Loving this race. I've gone from SR C to S in just an evening of racing this track. I've been trying for so long to get out of the cesspit which is C where it's just full of wankers who just care about not being overtaken.
It’s usually related to your reference points for braking and turning. You need to be consistent with your reference points and then adjust your driving from there. Dunno if that makes sense 🙈
I’m doing ok with consistency. I try to edge my braking later but then I miss the apex. I’m working on keeping speed up through corners. I’m up to a C rated driver now! 🤗
Do you find you had to push towards the top of the pedal on the csl elite load cell pedals to get more braking force? My brk frc setting on wheel is set to 50. Great vids though, very useful 👌
Hi David or as us South Africans say howzit.....thanks for thee video......what is your brake biased set as....I currently run around 1.23....just canny get better than that. Will try tonight using some of your helpful tips .......good luck for the next real race....watch you all the time on you tube.....be fast and be safe ....cheers
When I am playing on longer races on GTS or any racing game for that matter, I all way have one crash during long races and Its so annoying seeing all my progress go to waste. As a racing drive what's you advice on stay consistent during a tite race where the pressure is on ?
Have you ever considered building a PC and subscribing to Iracing? It is said to be the best simulator on the market, It has decent but not GTsport graphics so you can afford to build a more budget PC - May be something to help not only your mental but give you the closest thing to real-life practice as well!
Sardegna is a bloody good track, especially the B config. Such a satisfying drive and the scenery is gorgeous. Huge props to Polyphony on this one.
They’re the masters of fantasy tracks
I agree, I think PD have done a great job with the fictional tracks, they are really fun places to race in GTS.
I don't even have a PlayStation but I love these videos
I should send this comment to Playstation :D
@@DavidPerel haha get that PlayStation sponsor
Congratulations on your 24hr race David,#notification squad
Thanks Tom, was a really tough race, felt like 36 Hours but very happy to have come away with a podium finish.
Damn, had a 1.20.452 before this video. After using this i have a 1.19.892 😎 Thanks man
Wuhuu, glad it worked for you!
Will try to maximize the tips the next time I play.
Did time trials y'day , got a 1:20.860 with these tips I can do better thank you
Let me know how you improve 👊
Do you use hard tires? And what car?
@@CSM13 yes and with the Porsche RSR

Well done on the P2 🤙👏
Thanks for the general tips!

I used sims for Karting too! I recommend checking out the new “Kart Craft” game, it looks incredible
Masterful video as always mate. Only just watched it and getting itchy for the next one already :D
Will try post a race guide later today
Thanks, knocked .7 off my qualify lap and again great advice. Coaching is a great move, hope you enjoy it.
That’s awesome, nice job 👏👏
When I'm within 1sec of David Perel, I have a beer!
Racer 294 haha, it’s great isn’t it. At all levels we’re all chasing somebody else.

Yea I have a race to upload, I'll do it on Friday :) Fuel saving is the fastest way to win this race.
i love this track, i was competitive at first try and usually i can't go for the win... but here it's a podium if i do a bad race :D amazing gt track
This track is really awesome
Congrats on the spa results
Thanks mate, testing was good but we will see how things go on race weekend. We know that Audi was sandbagging.

I had a go at this race last night and enjoyed every minute of it. So damn fun.

Hey mate, when I had a fanatec I upgraded my pedals to the V3’s and they worked beautifully. I never got a chance to use the Elite Pedals though.
@@DavidPerel could you use them like a normal pedal, I mean you didn't have to hit a specific point on the pedal to get the most out of it?

Hey mate, I have the BB all the way to the front (-5) 👍
@david perel what strategy do you use?? I dont know if to fuel save or to go flat out and then pit
Fuel save! Don't do a pitstop mate.
What car are you hot lapping in dude? Thanks
Ferrari 458 GT3 🤙
How much rotation u use on your Wheel ?
In GT Sport it’s fixed, I can’t remember the value though

Focus only on the next gear change, braking point and apex. Stop thinking about the things you can’t control.
@@DavidPerel thanks man 😃
Right now my lap time is a 1 minute 22 with a controller. I know I can get a 1 minute and 20 seconds.

Is it just me or has the gt3 458 in GT sport become a lot more oversteery with the new bop patch?
I think the opposite, all the MR cars have gotten buffed as they’re less heavy
For me it’s been the opposite, I have experienced more stability with the car since the update

I’m not sponsored by ACC. They are a series sponsor of the Blancpain GT Series.
