Great vid again Jason - I had a good look at the glyphs - and the theory is that a returned soldier from Galipoli did them for a laugh.. the glyphs mix known symbols from different eras of history ( something he would not have known not being an eyptologist) anyway - it is an enjoyable walk along that track in and out and what a tree - I got more from that than the hunt around the rocks for a way into the glyphs.
You were right near my place again. It looks so much nicer from the sky lol. I could see my house in your drone shot too. I loved your drone footage over Umina too. A local told me there were caves in that hill but I’d never been able to walk good enough to find them. I could see one under where you were at Ettalong lookout. So cool! I’ve been up that way a bit lately, I found a couple of good spots to park the van. I’ve stopped at that lookout a few times to cook a meal. Awesome shots of the Woy Woy waterfall pool too. I’ve seen heaps of pictures of it but never been able to get there myself. Your footage made me feel like I was right there in front of it! Thank you for the close up look at the Gosford glyphs too, how amazing!! There was talk of them being destroyed, it’s a relief to see them still there.
That's funny that you could see your house 😁 I was surprised to see that big cave under the lookout too. That's the coolest part of the drone. It was beautiful down at that waterfall, but not an easy climb in and out, unfortunately.
Saturday morning, coffee in hand and watching your videos sets me up for an inspired day Jason. Great video and that drone footage racing through the trees was tops. It would really be something else to pilot the drone using virtual reality googles to see the image. I'd imagine that you may have more control. I'm now in the process of decking the back of my small 4 x 4 out for longer range tours. Thanks as always for the videos and keep having fun. Cheers, Sean.
Thanks Sean. I need to practice a little more flying the drone through the bush like that. It could give some pretty exciting shot. Sounds good that you're setting up your 4x4. That'll be great to be able to get out for a few days...or weeks!👍
@@MakingStuffGoingPlaces Thanks Jason. I'm planning to do short trips and work my way up to quite long journeys. The idea being to see if I want to do vanlife full time - and maybe get a much larger vehicle.
@SeanC1959 always good to work up to the decision gradually, rather than outlaying a stack of cash and not liking it! I did a similar thing for my first van.
Ahhhhh, the sounds of the Australian bush. That time of the year when the cicadas are on full song. ❤ It's a shame the water wasn't falling strong at the Woy Woy Waterfall Pool. It's sight to behold when it is. And I had a chuckle when the dog stood up against the railing next to you at Ettalong lookout looking at the drone. 😁
Yay you made it to Wangi Wangi next time you will have to get your bike out it’s a good spot to chill nice and peaceful 😊 if ever I see your blue van around I will stop and say hello love your set up enjoy your travels.
Rathmines Park was a WW2 Catalina flying boat base, the war memorial on the head land has a propeller from one of the plane ... the track around Umina Point was the original road from around 100 years ago before they built the bitumen road over the top, used to ride my push bike around there in the 70's ... there are also stories that the glyphs where made by a WW1 returned soldier who fought in North Africa ... and as you mentioned many other theories ... Mt Penang has 2 prisons, 1 is high security, its down the hill behind the oval which not many locals are aware of , the other low security, the many wooden buildings aeound the site where part of a 'boys home for offenders' since the 50s ... for such a small drone it a good quality video, cheers Garry
@@MakingStuffGoingPlaces teenage years lived at Umina, moved to the valley north of Gosford in my 20s been here 40 years now, explored much of the central coast and hunter areas in that time ... interesting seeing the area thru someone else's eyes
Spent the day there today in my boat. Coming from the other side of the lake where I have spent most of my life for the first time only last year and I’m nearly 48. Can’t believe we haven’t spent more time there. Glad you got to see it. Have you been to patonga? You were very close by at Umina. Spectacular place.
Lots of good stuff in this vid- loved seeing the rock platform at Umina Beach, the tunnel track near Woy Woy, and the Grandmother Tree; so beautiful. Weird stuff going in the wee hours at that tank place you overnighted at. Drug deal maybe? 🤷🏻♀️ And Gosford glyphs - fascinating; maybe we’l never know if they’re legit or not. Once again, thanks for the work you do to make these videos for us 😊
Another great video. Those glyphs are quite fascinating, will look into them. Strange watercatchment set up at the falls, as in difficulty retrieving the water unless they had some set up. Love the drone footage. The water gardens at the end look enticing. Hope you get good news at the arm appointment.
The Woy Woy waterfall is actually just above the railway tunnel, so they just had pipes running down the hill to where they needed the water. I should have got a shot of the train line for context. I'll have some shots of the gardens in the next video 😁
Rathmines used to be a seaplane base during WW2, still a few remamanents left, such as the concrete ramp. Lots of interesting photos online, when the area was buzzing with Catalina's
Wow what a beautiful part of the Country, We really are lucky to be Australians. My Mate was Full Blood Kanaka ( Vanuatu), now passed, He told Me His Grand Parents said their Ancestors originated from Egypt. Yuh never know? Great video Jason Thanks Mate!!
Morning! The glyphs are interesting. I used to live in the Blue Mountains Rex Gilroy has a museum there. He believed the Egyptians were here before the Europeans citing the glyphs and a pyramid in Queensland as proof.
Shall look into those Gosford Glyphs👽. I spent a few months living on Central coast 10 yrs ago, awesome spot but I think it was a highish unemployment rate then so hopefully not too many social problems now?
Hmmmm...just quietly, it's probably one of the wilder areas I've been. Woy Woy isn't too bad, but Wyong is one to avoid. I certainly feel a lot safer and relaxed up closer to Newcastle.
Nice! Just make sure it has plenty of satellites connection before flying over water...and don't go over water in autonomous modes 😁 You should get some good shots!
No, the van is still under warranty, so unfortunately need to get it serviced by mechanics. I actually use Ford dealers as they include 12mths roadside assistance with the service.
First saw the glyphs back in the 90s been half destroyed and defaced since! Was actually on an episode of Ancient Aliens years ago 😆 The central coast is just one big crime mecca now which is why we left some time ago!
Thanks for the shout out Jason and for another interesting video. Safe travels mate. In regards to the glyphs being real or fake, I reckon this guy has the best perspective on the subject. th-cam.com/video/30jMvj4L_jo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=hajFV9B4f8m3s4b2
😂 I didn't watch that guys video because of the way he was dressed on the video thumbnail. Actually a pretty good video though. He mentions a lot of points I've seen in other videos too. It does appear they're somewhat dodgy!😂

Yeah, I've seen that theory as well. It definitely looks like the one wall is a lot older than the other 😂
The tree is definitely worth the walk!😁

😂 yeah, I think I was lucky I got the drone away before the dog got there. I think he really wanted a taste...
Another great vid Jason beautiful area ...thanks again 😊
Thanks Charlie 😁👍
Right above the glyphs are indigenous carvings and a birthing stone or an odd shaped rock anyway. Worth the extra 100m-200m walk…
Yeah, I watched another video about the glyphs after that and saw there were other carvings in the area.... should have had a look.
Great video, the glyphs really are a mystery...
They are fascinating. Even if someone just did it for a laugh, it was a lot of work!

It's definitely a nice calm place there. Great spot to swim 😁
Another great video. Hope you sort out he bike soon.
Thanks 😊
Bike is all good now...fitted the new brakes😁
So cool seeing your footage of those rocks Jason, very interesting info, I think anything is possible with the Egyptian theory etc.
Yeah, very interesting spot. Probably fake, but still interesting 😁
Awesome mate, New sub.Really enjoyed this one. Looking forward to more content.
Thanks mate! Great to have you following along 😊👍

Beautiful part of the lake.
I can see it would be a beautiful place to live 😊

Yeah, been to patonga a few times over the years. Another nice quiet spot.
Literally went into the glyphs the most dangerous way. 😂
😂 yeah, I found that out!
Those red barked trees are Angophora costata - Smooth-barked Apple
Ah cool! Thanks 😁👍

Always a pleasure!
I think I see quite a few drug deals going on in various places. 🙄 Usually they just move on and that's it.
Such a pretty spot and thank you for your lovely video !
Thanks Louisa 😊

Oh wow! That explains the rather strange boat ramp I guess. Very interesting 👍

I find it really interesting. They glyphs are one of those stories that you really want to be true 😂 but yeah...who knows...
Morning! The glyphs are interesting. I used to live in the Blue Mountains Rex Gilroy has a museum there. He believed the Egyptians were here before the Europeans citing the glyphs and a pyramid in Queensland as proof.
It's quite fascinating! Seems they keep uncovering older and older evidence of advanced civilizations, so anything is possible.

The DJI Neo is getting good footage. I'm taking one up to the Solomon Islands with me over Christmas.
Nice! Just make sure it has plenty of satellites connection before flying over water...and don't go over water in autonomous modes 😁
You should get some good shots!
I grew up in ryhope.awaba.28 kids in primary school..and 4where my siblings
I bet the schools in the area are bigger than that now! My kids had a few years in a similar sized school in Anakie, Vic.
Just curious, Jason, do you do your own basic servicing on the van?
Peter
No, the van is still under warranty, so unfortunately need to get it serviced by mechanics. I actually use Ford dealers as they include 12mths roadside assistance with the service.
First saw the glyphs back in the 90s been half destroyed and defaced since! Was actually on an episode of Ancient Aliens years ago 😆
The central coast is just one big crime mecca now which is why we left some time ago!
Yeah, I see a lot of stupid behaviour around the central coast...far more than other areas. It's a shame...
Jason, Wangi Wangi, pronounced with a w sound followed by "on g". ;)
Peter
Thanks Peter. I'll get it right next time I go there 😂
Be careful you don’t fall and break your other arm on those rocks!
😂 yeah, a definite possibility! Harder to climb up and down when I can't really use me left arm.
Rathmines had a massive jetty for world war two
Yeah, a few people mentioned it was for seaplanes. I had no idea 👍
Jason what do you mean your bikes broken? Arent you a mechanical engineer? Thats embarrassing mate.
It's fixed now. Just needed time to get parts. Jeez...harsh man 😂😂😉
@MakingStuffGoingPlaces lol
Thanks for the shout out Jason and for another interesting video. Safe travels mate.
