Nov 2023, costco has these 2 for $110
Wild. Great price
I think Costco has 2 small mesas, not the XL.
@@cocosurgerow they are 100% the xl's as I bought them
Online or in warehouse?

Thanks for the video, well done. Curious, what kind of knife is that?
Very inexpensive yet had for years and would recommend to have around house. Called Lightning OTF
Excellent review Todd! I definitely need one of these. You are costing me more $$$. I love it! Can you use wood pellets with this?
Yes on wood pellets. I will be doing part 2 with pellets when they come in.
Great review. Definitely helpful but I have one question, what kind of pocket knife is that? I love it. Bench made?
Believe it or not it’s a sub $40 knife called Lightning. Has been amazing and put to the test for a cheap knife. I will be getting a Microtech someday for sure🤙
That is pretty neat looking 👍🍻
I like it
Did you look at the original (smaller) solo stove? Now that you have the XL would the solo be too small? (Deciding between the two sizes). Nice video. Thanks
I never saw the small one but wouldn’t go any smaller. Will burn out too fast.
I actually bought both of them - the small Mesa and the XL. From all the reviews I've read - most owners wished they would have gotten the XL. That's the one I'm keeping!
@@JaceShoemakerGalloway Thx for input
Could you tell me the knife you used??
Inexpensive OTF called lightning.
Thanks for the vid man just ordered xl but backorder says 5.8. Ill use this camping sometimes you want alil fire especially in the hot summer
Just bought two bags of pellets from Solo and will do a Flwp. Looks like will burn for quite bit
The website says it does not recommend burning under a Gazebo, canopy......is there any potential hazards?
Always hazards with fire. There is a ton of room between but always have to watch and make sure no embers or too much heat
What burn time do you get when is full usually?
It is pretty quick. Would say a clean flame for 10-15min. Never timed it but because smaller, you will be filling quite often. I found a combo of pellets and wood to be best.
@@ToddTheGunGuy that sound good.
Also how far do you feel the warm for seating.
Thanks.
Is the ceramic color affected by the heat?
No issues to date and we get this thing cooking with flames!!
great unboxing brother . hope the morning is going good
Thx🤙
Side question, what knife is that? 😍
Believe it or not is a knife called Lightning. Is a very inexpensive OTF that I use daily and have had zero issues. Under $50, Actually did a video on it if you look through. Thx
@@ToddTheGunGuy Awesome! Thanks will do!
Thats pretty fricken sick man!!
I am gonna use the hell outta this for sure. I am a fire bug and can sit next to this all night a 12pk at a time🥰
Can you use this for coal rather than wood
Is a good question. Have not tried. Only wood and wood pellets that I have tried. Thing burns out really quick with pellets and would like to know myself if coal would work
@@ToddTheGunGuyProperly loaded, pellets will give a useful burn for an HOUR, without having to feed it.
An hour isn’t enough?
@@Ira88881 Explain proper way if you could to get an hour. I couldn’t keep a good burning flame for close to that. Tried a little then added more quite often. If I put too much would cover air flow.
@@ToddTheGunGuy You have to LOAD AND PACK the entire chamber with pellets right up to below the top holes, pack them down, and start your burn from the top.
You can’t fill it halfway, or 3/4 way, and then add pellets to make it burn longer. Pellets don’t work that way! Pellets don’t behave like wood in this regard.
I have the 7”, 40 bucks WalMart Ozark Trail clone of this…and it’s an hour time after time again. No need to feed anything once you get it started.
I use it with a swing-away/adjustable grate for cooking, and it’s a beautiful thing. When I use it for just fire or marshmallows…with wood…it’s always chunks of hardwood. This idea of using kindling is ridiculous. You have to always keep feeding it.
@@Ira88881 Thx for input🤙
Two for 120 at Costco right now.
Great deal
That looks pretty cool
Gonna be a fun little fire pit. Big or small, I love sitting by fires
@@ToddTheGunGuy same here it’s definitely peaceful
Great job buddy with the review
Thx John
I gots me a red one too.
Awesome!! Enjoy
Where's the marshmallows?
Diabetic🤷🏼♂️
@@ToddTheGunGuy ...and?
So am I, type 1
@@gunnwild1 Good point😆
You did it the totally wrong way. Didn’t you do ANY research on these things before doing a vlog about it!?
You do top burn only on these gasifiers, and pellets are a hundred times better than wood.
Alright flip ur hat back
😂🤙
Stop yelling.
Hearing going bad.
Caam annn this thing seems so silly and useless like the ember mug
