They could add an unlockable item (in the start screen where you can upgrade your cat, teleport etc.), that lets you transfer brains into your minions. You would have Range-Brains that kite their enemies. Melee-Brains that enable dodge, parry or block depending on equipped arms / legs. Leader-Brains, that let you group a certain amount of minions around your leader and give them a bonus depending on body parts. Medic-Brains together with healing tome arms, that avoid all combat and only try to heal your minions. Etc.
Basically the game is "solved" for now unless they update the AI. Use the cat. Lairs dont get triggered by the cat. farm as much gold as you can and upgrade cat first then the upgrade power and lightning spell. Everything else is useless. / not required. Let the cat gather parts while you zap weak lairs, build at least a decent unit and solo all the lairs you found yourself, rinse and repeat. Never build an army, it will just trigger more lairs and lead to your defeat.
I hope this game gets an AI update for both the player's troops and maybe the enemies, rn it feels like melee troops are inferior, and making undead that move fast is actually a debuff because they just run into enemies faster and die, like harpies did.
Double shield boys are great if you send them out with another skeleton as they will push enemies out of the way instead of charging into them and dying
i gotta say it; even with the minor nitpicks this game is pretty damn cool. and i plan on watching every video you do of it, sir. and you can expect a like as well.
With how powerful upgrading to lizards is, game could use a tier below them that is closer to their usefulness. Or some other way to preserve lizard power while smoothing out the incrementing value of each upgrade tier.
I feel like harpies and vampires are supposed to be that, but you end up getting access to huge amounts of lizard parts due to metaprogression before you see very many of those
@@justinthompson6364 yeah I think you are 100% correct! Harpies esp make sense as they are great low-health scouts early game, but we never get them early game.
I do hope for more refinement as well, as is the game is already plenty of fun. It's just that with a bit more depth to dig in it could be a real big thing.
Thematically, this reminds me of Iratus...Which I got free from Epic recently and have been enjoying a lot. I don't think I could handle this game, though...Not being able to tell your guys to defend your base (or really anything) would annoy the hell out of me.
Yeah, definitely think that the biggest flaw with this game is simply the fact that all of your units use their face as their primary weapon. Obviously, if ranged characters ran, then they would be the only method, but it's still highly obnoxious that you can't even get them to a "stand-still" mode.

Sad you can't make armies. Enemy AI needs to attack so ours can dodge

the dev said on steam that they are in the process of figuring out a way to fix the ai of the units without having to completely rewrite the game

An indication on the body builder as to wether or not you have tried a combo would be nice to help with discovery of new ones
