Great interview, I am glad I met Mr Ed Connors, I am the guy in the wheelchair in his book. He gave me the opportunity to achieve my dream and he made Gold's gym accessible in all floors because he saw me training every day and competing
This gentleman spoke to my heart. My hope is for the younger generations to have just as wonderful a time that we had at the early gyms. Thank you for this interview! 🌿
Excellent interview with another pioneer in the iron game. Although I'm not of elder age to say I remember seeing him in the heydays of Golds across the 80s-90s, I've done my research n studies with these important names of the modern gym culture. Ed is deff at the very top . Like it was said, had he not purchased Gold's gym with Pete n co. The Gold's Venice, even modern gym communities in the US as we know it, would have been extremely different. Maybe not existent . Who knows. . Thanks Ed ! And thnx Lee for a new current interview with Ed.
Interesting interview with Ed. As a former bodybuilder now in his late 50s who still trains 5x a week. In our area of around a 750k, I have seen the gyms change dramatically. The competitive bodybuilders in Open are non-existent. You have many more women and the general fitness person just trying to stay in shape. We have the powerlifting gyms that are niche. The large chains are subject to making millions and their stocks and lose touch with the consumer. The smaller gyms seem to be there for their members and just making a living. Lastly, you have IG trainees making videos for these platforms. That is for another day!😂
Great interview. Lee is the ultimate podcast professional. He has an amazing voice and knows what questions to ask at the right time. He comes across as a remarkable human.
