Actually LBP PSP had some really impressive community levels. People really pushed the mechanics. People used illusions to make some fancy ideas, like teleportation, time travel, diorama-based cutscenes... and there was one that let you fly to multiple planets by controlling your ship's location in a cockpit and dropping though a tube system. Because there was no smearing, you had to corner edit to make shapes, and this resulted in people taking care to shape everything nicely, while being sloppier on LBP PS3. Plus LBP PSP had a gorgeous atmosphere that bled into these levels. I think the best are archived so you can probably try them out on an emulator. I've been meaning to for a while.

It’s insane how popular this series used to be. Sucks Sony had to milk every last bit of it. Here’s hoping it will make a resurgence on the PS5! (And that spin-off game doesn’t count).

2.) Levels of people talking to each other, usually the names were "for:(name)"

LBP PSP was such an amazing job done by Sony, in cramming the fun of a PS3 IP in a sequal for a handheld, without compromising on (almost) anything, quality wise.
    .
But when I played LBP PS Vita, I was positively blown away! It seemed like _this_ was the console that the LBP series was developed for! Seemless use of touchscreen (front and back), gyroscopic platforming, even the cameras on Vita were put to use for sticker creation!
    .
On Vita, LBP felt right at home.

It’s a similar story with Modnation Racers’ PSP port. It’s theoretically the same game, with the same campaign and being able to create your own mods, karts and tracks. But races have less participants and graphics definitely took a hit. But it’s still a fun game that embodies the spirit of the series

8:43 LBP on the PSP had some amazing level creations and many of them. All you had to do was search by most hearted and you'll get to see some levels that would easily belong in the main game. I joined in the late years of the community and it was all about creating your personal room in a hotel, share it and let others see all the interesting personal rooms in the hotel and create theirs to share and repeat the cycle. I have personally created levels and spent weeks on them. The community was much more mature back then and to have a good rating you would have to make some top class levels. After being a good creator, I decided to use all my time on a level that would be the next big hearted level by many. Unfortunately even reading the wiki for this game, some created levels would bug out and freeze your PSP every time you open them. Probably would be easier to bypass this with emulation nowadays but back then it would mean that your created level was dead for good. I guess the system didn't have enough RAM to compensate for some mechanics made in a level and therefor could have really put down some people including myself on creating their level from scratch. This DEFINITELY wasn't a spin off and playing it for years, I definitely recommend it for a PSP game. The PSVita game is a lot better but that's a different topic.

I hate to say it, but...
It's actually pronounced cAYmbridge. Named after the city here in England. Aside from the painful mispronunciation, I'm glad I can share my nostalgia! Great video. :) Also, you shouldn't have to worry about the LBP 1 and 2 servers being shut down. They're all on the same server, along with LBP3 and Vita, so you can play them on newer versions of the game. Because the series has been dormant for a while, SB:ABA might be a game to get new players into the series before they drop a true sequal, meaning the levels will stay on the servers.

Dude so lucky to have that Darth Vader PSP! I never had a PSP but that’s the one I was willing to trade my soul for. The PSP library was incredible, sad I missed out on it

The first Littlebigplanet game I played was LBP2. The LBP Portable was the second. LBP3 on PS3 was the third. I'm getting a PS4 and LBP3 on PS4.

So you are talking about every lbp retrospective but your forgetting about one lbp game called sackboy's prehistoric moves.

Does anyone else remember those random people who would comment on your lbp profile and say “you said my levels are bad but look at yours” despite the fact you’ve never even seen one of the persons levels and you didn’t say anything to him?

There was this one guy that made a level based on every star wars movie. And did a bunch of like easter egg hunts for prizes on the forum i was a part of. It was great

I would say that PSP and Vita aren't actually spin offs. They are mainline games but are on different portable consoles and have different and or new features.

if Sumo does well with Sackboy a Big adventure (which I believe they will) because LBP3 was could of been great with out the bugs. They need to make LBP1 remastered that's all I want then a few years later hopefully they make the sequel :)

I have an idea to bring lob community BACK! Hold your tongue and listen: we need tons of suggestions on every viable resource to contact lbp devs and make them bring it back and if not maybe have them to add little links for community levels for content creators. Such a great idea I had in mind.

I put a lot of time on this game and had a blast. I guess i got very used to the limitations because it was my first game, but I really wanted water in this one. My save data corrupted twice, but i still replayed it.
That means my first true dose of LBP on console was a bigger blast.

If you have a homebrewed vita, you can install PSP DLC within Adrenaline (The Vita's PSP emulator)
Also you can scale objects in the PSP version if you select said object, hold L and down/up on the joystick thing

Don't you have to capture said object before I can resize it though?
