I have been following James for many years. I think he is a genuine and very knowledgeable person. I also have bought a lot of his products. James definitely is great at what he does. Thank you for always giving great information.
I’m a snake breeder just getting into the world of Frenchy’s. Genetics are genetics no matter what but some of the vernacular is different. When you talk about “carrier’s” we would say “Het” short for heterozygous. Thanks for explaining everything James. I think I’ve watched all of your Q&A videos at this point 😂 I appreciate that you take your time to share your knowledge!
Its insanely obvious this ol Man has intense years of experience....this is his passion..Mahalo nui for sharing the experience with others to pass on priceless information for serious Breeders.
I’m so glad I found you!!!! I wish you would explain to everyone how, in the case of recessive carriers in some cases based on parantage you KNOW what you have, but if you pass several generations that recessive gene can travel along unnoticed for generations and then crop up when least expected, when it runs into another copy of the gene. Some don’t get that.
Thanks for all the info, please keep sharing your knowledge with us. I have seen so many of your videos during this quarantine. Now I go on facebook and see people selling “lilac platinum”, “lilac carriers” and the dog is black or brindle and if I wouldn’t have found your channel before I probably would have believed them.

hi James loves all your video, I have a quick question, if you breed a (black n white that carried blue genes to a blue brindle what would both offsring will produce in your opinion. thanks
Hi sir. i just wanted to ask howcome a pied puppy was produced from a lilac tan sire (with no pied gene)and a non pied dam(possibly pied carrier)? Thank you. @Love My Pups
Excellent , interesting , fascinating! On your website, are all your stud dog’s genetic listed in this same manner. That would be most helpful. We are looking for a stud for our girl. We want one of your!
Love your videos!!.. I have a black merle (dna testing results have not came back yet). Can you talk about the black color coat? I am keeping my fingers crossed for my pup to be a/a. I know theres is a higher probability she will simply have the k/b (dominant black) gene. My pup has tick marks in her black fur. Is the tick marking the same as brindle? Do the tick markings have a correlation with k/b?.... thanks in advance
Is there any possible way you can make a video about this newest fad, the “pink” Frenchies? Apparently it has to do with the C Locus and albinism. The only lab I could find that currently tests for it is in the UK. Love all of your videos and really want to get your take on this. I appreciate it.
Hi James, firstly thank you for your very informative videos, I have just sent away a DNA swab test from my Frenchie Brindle girl and I'm waiting for the results,Would it be possible for you to do a video on reading and understanding DNA results that we receive back from the testing lab?not only on colour but also on the overall health of the dog tested.Thank you, Brett. UK.
Oh my, James! Please look at a genetics book. The two strands of a DNA double helix do not each come from a different parent! And a chromosome is not made of paired proteins. Each parent contributes one copy of each chromosome. And each chromosome is made of a double helix. The DNA includes thousands of genes that are the templates for the mRNAs that then direct the synthesis of proteins. . .greatly simplified explanation. Other than that, I do enjoy and appreciate your videos. Just check your facts before you dive in!
What will i get from a lilac female (sire champagne mom blue fawn) bred to a champagne male (sire fawn mom champagne) The champagne male also being the lilac females dad (so father x daughter breeding)
