      Isabella
      Isabelline also known as isabella, is a pale grey-yellow, pale fawn, pale cream-brown or parchment ...
      understand that "brownish yellow" is often referred to as "isabel". There is an interesting story behind this and in order to tell it, I have to let some dirty linen remain unwashed! According to the story, Isabella was the daughter of King Philip II of Spain. In 1598, she was married off to Prince Albert of Austria, and as dowry the young couple was given the whole of the Netherlands. Unfortunately, one of the cities, Ostend was in the hands of the Flemish. Isabella apparently told her husband that until he captured this city, she would not remove her underwear even to wash it! The husband of course panicked and set off to Ostend to capture it. Fortunately, or unfortunately, it took nearly three years for the city to fall! So if the story is to be believed, poor Isabella was wearing the same unwashed underwear for three years! Now do you understand why "isabel" means "brownish yellow"? I guess the story explains two things. One, why Isabella and Albert never had children, and two, why Hamlet kept saying that something was rotten in the state of Denmark! The smell probably carried all the way from the Netherlands! Just kidding!
      There are 4 variants on the choc locus bd bs bc and a 4th one which cannot be tested for by any lab in the world.
      Before we start a lilac dog is ddbb a diluted choc base dog dd double dose of dilution to the choc base to make it as we know lilac.
      For the past few years people have always bred the 4th variant as someone I believe popped out a pup one day from a litter which was visual choc but on paper on a test result came back as BB negative for choc so the craze started and for years people have been breeding for what's called untestable choc.
      Now over the past year testable choc has arisen this testable gene incorporate the variants some dogs have 1 variant some have 2 some have 3 these are the bd bs bc results along with the bb status on a test sheet
      People started calling these dogs Isabella but from the story above and the true significance of the story above a true Isabella has a kyky status and not a kykb status basically a lilac fawn dog but with the testable b gene incorporated with the double dilute
      The difference between these choc genes are that they don't combine there has been dogs which have been bred and claimed to have combined but until they breed backwards to prove this case it still remains not compatible
      Each testable gene incorporates chromosones from mam and dad and these chromosones have to align together for success the more the gene pool is filled with testable b dogs the more the chromosones are filled and the more success rate of testable dogs are produced
      Hope that helps😁

    • @princemal3069
      @princemal3069 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      To summarize, lilac is non-testable chocolate & blue, versus Isabella is Testable chocolate & blue.

    Subbed! Very Helpful Channel. I'm quite confused because my situation might be different. LOL
    My baby was mated a couple of days ago. My Female is a Blue Carrier Pied (Fawn Pied) She is the one on my Profile Pic. Her parents are Blue Pied and Fawn Pied like her.
    The stud i used is a Blue tan male that carries Cream, possible Choco Carrier. I get confused if i should still use the KY for FAWN or the S/S for Pied or both while calculating.
    Was wondering what possibilities do i have of having a blue covered in cream pups are? If there's any. I know for sure that i might have blue pied and solid blue pups (i hope) and all puppies will carry Tan points correct?
    More Power and hoping you have more time to make more videos to share your knowledge to us.

    I sincerely appreciate your knowledge base and know that you are obviously well educated in these areas. The only critique I would have, is that the proper pronunciation of the word is PUNNETT square. You and your assistant both refer to it repeatedly as PunDIT. This might be accent related, so i apologize if that’s the case. :) Other than that tiny thing, I sincerely enjoyed your work here. :)

      You can get tan points from at/a or atat

    • @LoveMyPups
      @LoveMyPups  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Katie Neudorff your puppy has to carry chocolate because the dad is a lilac. Lilacs are dd bb. And consequently have to hand out the chocolate b gene to every pup
      But you pup is a choc Carrier. Bb. And will only have a red eye glow if it is chocolate bb. So no red eye glow

    • @LoveMyPups
      @LoveMyPups  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jablonowskibrandon, not a geneticist myself, I would guess something to do with "Natural Selection" played a large part in coat colors, patterns, lengths and textures found in the domestic dogs of today. Perhaps, over time, breeders breed those traits more often and thus resulting in the variety we have today. Thanks for you interest in our TH-cam channel.

      Merles have one copy of Merle. Mm
      If you have a oup from a merle parent and it doesn’t show merle it is not a merle mm
      And can be breed to a merke Mm to produce a litter of both merles and non merles

    I have an all capital letter female brindle. I would like to breed her for solid colors especially solid black. What genotype should I pair her with to get solid color pups ? Thank You.

      Brindle dominant. So breed to a non Brindle. On average half the pups will not be brindle.
      Breed to a non pied carrier and no pieds.
      The best you can do is fawns and brindles. But you can add addition colors that can be produced from these puppies.
      Call me if I can help I have 17 studs

    Hello, James. Back with another question! Really do appreciate the content and help!
    I have a dog whom I thought or considered a lilac fawn. But you mentioned a lilac would have to have chocolate and the dilution gene. My dog doesn’t have the B gene (I think). This is what I just got back.

    Appreciate the help, James!
