LEGO City Update - Double Decker Bus MOC 🚌🏹

  • When I made my first MOC bus a few comments suggested that I added a second deck to make a double decker bus. I didn't want to destroy my new creation so I pledged to make a second version with twice the space, and here it is. I've kept many of the design features of the first version but also added a ton of detail whilst still keeping it fully accurate and accessible!

    The new double-decker bus looks great. It goes very well with the other bus. Good work. Oh wait wrooom ..... wrooom ... I hear a motorcycle. New bus in the city Mission accepted for the stunt biker. He has to conquer it :-). Have a nice weekend.

    Love the new bus. It will make a great addition to Bricknottingham. A cool scene on the top level would be either a hobo(tramp) or a couple of floosies fighting.

    I like how you use the base of your bus Moc as the base for the double decker bus since a lot of double decker buses were made by companies that usually made single decker buses that actually do look pretty similar especially in the UK we're double decker buses are huge

    • @andhe
      @andhe 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I wondered what was bothering me about the stairs. Normally they'd be hidden from the outside, but then you couldn't see the figs going up. That barrier at the bottom of the stairs is usually floor to ceiling and you could put some advert, timetable or TV screen on it.

    Yep.. it's official, I completed the journey and a superb ride it was! About six month's ago I saw my first Brick Nottingham tour, and the first thing that went through my mind was: Now this is what a kid would imagine or fantasize watching a catalolog or a bunch of cool Lego sets. • @witerabid
    @witerabid 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    It. Is. Perfect. 😊 I like that rather than going for as much variation as possible you went with a sort of franchise look this time. It really looks like the two buses were built by the same company. The double decker seems to be the slightly older design where perhaps they were making a single decker and a double decker and the town went for maximum capacity. And the single decker you built before looks like the next generation (what with the curved roof front and more modern display style for the destination) where the company has stopped producing double deckers (as is so often the case these days) so Brick Nottingham only modernised the less frequented lines and kept the older ones going where necessary.
    As you can probably tell, this video has again inspired me greatly and I will probably come back to it when I finally have the space to build my town. (At the moment it's looking like we will have a new apartment by February. 😁)

    That came out pretty darn well! Definitely has that look that I think of in terms of a double-decker UK bus! And it does feel like they came from the same "manufacturer" too, just different models. I'd love to see how close that comes under the tram/monorail track! :)

    Very nice bus. i really like it but one thing you could do is make that tiny wall in front of the stairs on first floor same size as the rest of the wall. You don't have to connect it to the roof even. I think it would make that wall more useful cause it blocks the stairs from the side + i think it just looks better. But i don't know how it is in real life so if it is that tiny, then keep it and don't change anything. Can't wait the minifigs on action as well :D Always fun to watch some good scenes.

    Also,I have come to the conclusion,that your secret power function building is a lego factory,in a recent video,under a table I saw the small lego truck from the city center,possibly a loading truck.The power function part is probably a conveyer belt,and in the brick hauls,you buy dark red bricks,possibly the bricks for the walls.The ladder from a few weeks ago could be a cat walk.This is just a theory.

    Now that you have a double-decker bus and a normal bus you need a coach . And It could be a airport coach out side your airport

    Personally I think it's 1 brick too high. If you lose the red brick layer between first and second level it'll look aesthetically pleasing, because right now it's not proportionate, height to width.

    • @RobinHoodBricks
      @RobinHoodBricks  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Without that brick layer people's heads will be touching the roof when they're sat down upstairs!

  • @audiotron1003
    @audiotron1003 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That's a good bus you have there. Its a shame the lower window panels (4 x 3 x1) couldn't be used it would take the height down a little but then you might lose valuable headroom for your standing minifigs. So I suppose a good compromise was reached.
    As a kid I built buses and came up with the same idea but in reality as you probably know buses aren't twice the height of single deckers.

    • @RobinHoodBricks
      @RobinHoodBricks  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Minifigures always require compromise. Bearing in mind that cars usually only have one central seat, the slightly off proportions here seem trivial!
