@@ScorpionCar You can tell if someone shadowbans I think by the amount of dislikes on a video and lack of comments reflecting that.
People are starting to get fed up of TH-cam. Many I follow have moved onto other platforms.
On a positive note, I love your channel. One of my favourites.
@T T Many who have had their channels deleted or have backup channels have gone to Bitchute and some on Lbry. If I come across any more I will update.
Would Rumble be an option? They don’t ban speech. I guess it’s a earning money thing though trying to stay on TH-cam. It’s evil.
Honestly this has really opened my eyes. I noticed I was getting ridiculus amounts of ads but I didn't know all this was happening. Thanks for being for informative as always.

If a company is giving you something for free, always ask yourself what they're making money off of. In youtube's case, it's advertising. We aren't users to them, or even employees. We're _the product,_ either as content creators (in your case) creating things for advertisements to be added to, or as viewers whose attention is being sold to advertisers.
TH-cam's business model is an exploitative one to its very core.
Basically it's a way for youtube to demonetize to payout less money; especially since so many content creators are leaving TH-cam. Your video was very educational thank you.

Don’t forget that TH-cam wants to push the user to buy TH-cam Premium. Sadly it is the video creators that are hit hard with this strategy. Specially creators with real quality videos that take time and money to make.
@@besttech3216 you would not believe the expense, it really does not cover anything us creators do, I have made mistakes on my videos but let it go because of the days it takes to create, and for what? peanuts, and a lack of views when you think you nailed it.

I highly recommend that you build your Patreon more. You need some of that independent financial support on the side.

The shadowbanning of comments and content is 100% politically motivated.
I tested it: I was discussing the clear and obvious progressively leftist alterations of various characters on a particular show; with someone who disagreed.
I wrote 3 comments, only one of them went into detail about the changes; said comment used no profanity, expletives or aggressive language and was completely objective.
That one comment (out of 3) was repeatedly auto-deleted over 6x. It was targeted and not as spam.
YT gets away with this because the created a fictional term called "hate-speech"; which allows them to deem any opinion they disagree with as "offensive" and police it (and the person) off of the platform.
Also the AI is not looking for "trigger-words"; it is looking for specific phrases and associated accounts. You are allowed to use certain words so long as they are not paired together with other words or in a certain way.
Lastly *YT shadowbans accounts based on associated content.* So if you regularly engage in content or certain CC that YT deems "harmful/hateful"; they will (quietly) shadowban your account. This means that comments or videos you upload may be automatically hidden or deleted based on the nature of them.
So to be clear: YT profiles accounts and then takes actions against them based on engagement.
You will not be notified because they are not legally allowed to do this.
It is disgusting to see how YT went from a place where people could discuss anything, to a monetized corporate platform that uses thought control to silence detractors.
I just started a channel and this type of stuff is really troubling. It took me a week to edit my first video and the idea that youtube could decide to shadowban stuff that isnt family friendly makes the effort seem less worth it. I wish we had somewhere else to go with the same audience level.

I cancelled Facebook and TH-cam may be next. I recommend you start putting some content on Patreon and look for other options.
Is patreon a free platform to use?
Just commenting now they shadowban and the main peoblem is you have NO IDEA WHY. THEY PROVIDE ZERO FEEDBACK to us lowlies they add only more censoring. Just turn the comments off but, they'll lose over half the traffic.

Never used Facebook properly. Only made an account to access other sites that let you use facebook to login to other services.
This is a growing concern. "Creators" are also shadowbanning accounts left and right now when comments aren't pleasing them, or I guess not in their "interest". Truth and honest discussion is being covered up, very big issue
Due to the extra ads, I have installed add blocker again on my computer because it became too much. But on the phone, I hold out a little more.

Is there an adblocker that works with the TH-cam app on apple phone/iPad? I don’t want to watch TH-cam on a browser because you need to keep logging in. I love watching Project Diaries videos too, very educational for gardening.
You can add Ublock Origin to the browser on your phone and then watch youtube that way instead of the app. Much better.

This is absolutely devastating, my channel has been severely affected by this and i hadn't realised that i was using words like the Q word on my channel, but in the context of motivating people and discussing current affairs. This is ridiculous.

Consider yourself lucky to still have a channel. They've straight-up deleted 4 of my favorite channels for no reason at all. They probably used the words... ridiculous. I'm mostly off here now. . The harder they stand on our freedoms with jackboots, the quicker they'll learn that there's no yt w/o viewers.

Happening to me right now - started back in May for an unknown reason. Retention continues to improve - most videos are averaging over 60% and other metrics good too....Impressions in free fall down. Thank you for the information - a least it lets me know that I am not crazy.

@@ProjectDiaries I figured out you can tell if a owner blocks people by hundreds of dislikes (or more) and the comments don't reflect it and all have a 'hive mind' look and feel.
The only way TH-cam is going to wake up is by many of you moving to other places, otherwise it's just going to get worst.
My respect for them is nil after they boosted up the adverts and all the other things they have been doing.

sometimes I put on youtube to listen to music..Ive noticed that nowadays, the music will just stop..I go to the computer and youtube has paused it with a little box that asks if Im still watching...thanks for this video Lee..it was very interesting and always a delight to see your smiling face..love you lots xx

Interesting - additionally to your information: I also recognized a drop off on my channel since the first lockdown in spring and I also heard the same behaviour from other creators - especially smaller creators who were not monetized. Our theory was, that TH-cam would prefer bigger channels to that time, to generate more money with ads. I also talked to creators who monetized their channels and it really seemed, that chnannels with a lower cpm and without monetaization got less views. Not sure how high your cpm is, but I could imagine, that this could also play a roll for your drop off.
I think, the only possibility we have is to keep creating and hoping, that TH-cam will fix this issue as fast as possible.

You were one of the 1st people I started watching almost 2 years ago when I only had 1 4x4 raised bed you were so knowledgeable and helpful.... now I have about 8 large raised beds grow bags and containers.......keep uploading and I will keep watching....
On the subject of ad rolls. I've got a little one that loves watching nursery rhymes and other kid vids. Whenever I put a 14 min vid of Brum on for him on my phone there will literally be an ad every minute. Its the same with other kid vids too. But it never happens on the vids I watch, like this one. Pretty nuts that children seem to be targeted in this way. Don't know if its different on the youtubekids app
That's ridiculous. I do fell that TH-cam have limited advertisers for kids so they tend to up the ad rolls. It was silly to remove the 7 minute cap, IMO.

I guess I’m in the percentage of your subscribers that still get notifications. It’s weird how they’re constantly changing the rules. There’s another change in pipeline too soon, it’s already hit in America. They’re now running ads over there even on small channels that aren’t eligible for the partnership program yet, but the creator gets none of the revenue until they get big enough to be approved.
