Yeah, I like clay as an option for that style too! I think Terracotta blocks work as well, especially if you are building a whole village or street in that style and want to vary how the buildings look.
So true! I tend to use bone blocks because I imagine the brownish vertical lines as weathered streaks, like water has darkened the color of the whitewash, but if I had more mushroom stems that would be a really good option!
Excellent video! I also love that your explanation of jettying is quite succint and simple to understand, which I found great and helped me understand better than another youtuber. Also, how does one join the Archaeo SMP?
Glad it was helpful! As for the Archaeo SMP, it is a server managed and owned by ArchaeoPlays. There isn't really a set process for who gets an invite but it is in part a group consultative decision from the members of the server and then ArcaheoPlays has the final say.
I grew up with an old building on my property that had been whitewashed for decades, sadly there is no grey/white in Minecraft that can match it. That said it's a true shame that they didn't make the new chiseled book shelves able to store maps along with the books for builds like this.
I like that idea of them holding maps that maybe fold up to look like a scroll or something. I also think it would be cool for the chiseled book shelves to be able to hold different potions or bottles. Perhaps in time they will add it.
This is great, thanks to the channel Daskalos I know that Archeo Minecraft exist. And it's so cool. Because you don't only build great things (like the Hermitcraft SMP) but you can also talk about history, so you talk about so many interesting things. Hope you will also get some boosts out of his explosion. (One video is 100 000+ views. From ~500 to 13k subs). Wish you a lot of luck in this regards. Have fun 🫂
That is fantastic! I haven't watched his channel but I will have to check it out now!! My channel has had a boost recently, I will have to check the metrics to see if it is coming from his channel suggestions. Thanks for the comment, glad you found my channel and I hope you enjoy watching the videos!
In Polish, we call that style of building /Mur pruski/ the Prussian wall.
I usually use clay as an infill in such constructions in Minecraft.

That was an excellent (and educational) watch! It certainly looks like the half timbered structures scattered around where I like. Great video
Glad you enjoyed it!
My favorite block for infilling like this is mushroom stem but it's so hard to get that acquiring enough for any build would make you quit Minecraft.
