    Can anyone else still feel that anxiety level in their soul. its been 4 1/2 years for me and when i see this makes me feel like i am back there.

      I thought I was the only one (three years for me). These videos still make my nervous and force me to check my six for a lurking DI. It's too bad that they don't seem to show any IT or "hands-on wall-to-wall counseling."

    Geeze... watching this videos about boot camp brings back so many memories.. I am a Marine and currently I am in Pensacola, FL... in MAT division awaiting my AM training (AirFrame Mechanic). I tell you what.. YOU WILL HATE BOOT CAMP while you are there.. but once you get out.. you actually start to miss it..

    Look at the Speed and Intensity of those 1st phase recruits.
    Hell yea!
    You don't see that anymore, nowadays they just growl and not sound off or they whisper to the DI'S.
    Motivating. Takes me back to 1996 mcrd San Diego.

    @hurleyOC no i meant, the sleeves on their shirt arent rolled anymore. its common to have tattoos but you still have to have a waiver. if you do have a tattoo and it is extremely noticeable the DIs will make you wish you never got it. but dont worry it will pass in 13 weeks

    To be honest this reminds me of Army Basic at Benning. I never really dug the whole in fighting between Marines and Soldiers, I understand espirit de corps, but to be honest I see very little difference in the training as a whole. Now days might be a different story since the Army started lowering it's standards, either way, much love.

  • @thomaschavez5252
    @thomaschavez5252 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's tradition and a little "showing off". When you first start boot camp the cadence is precise and clear but as you progress and get comfortable with your Drill Instructors voice, he just adds a little "spice" to it. Some don't yodel, some add their own tones and sounds. Later on in training, if another Drill Instructor from another platoon tried to call cadence with you, you would not understand his commands because of his "personaltion"

  • @andyct1982

    @hurleyOC you will have to have a waiver for it, it wont be as hard to get now since marines are required to have sleeves all the way down. you will get hammered in boot camp though

  • @derrkalerrka
    @derrkalerrka 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @DSTheChris some recruits get used cammies, known as fat body cammies because they are larges and by the end of boot camp they wont be a large anymore so they get new ones at the end that they fit into, this way they dont waste money

    @SuperSalty23 What you don't see is the Firewatch, not knowing what hour you got until the recruit wakes you up, those annoying planes (San Diego only), peanut butter is gold in boot camp so eat a whole jar now while you can, if you don't miss home then you're going to miss home, field daying the heck out of the squadbay, can't take shits and very limited tp, chows are your track of time, don't go for squadleader or guide until the crucible, swallow ur chow and go, dying to sleep during briefs..

  • @ComplacentGhost
    @ComplacentGhost 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    it's a 13 week course, they dont let you in if you are obnoxiously over weight, but the intense pt will force you to lose weight and if you aren't losing it fast enough they'll put you on half rations which sucks ass. lol

    As long as everyone is around the same height, you'll be just fine. When I went to Encampment (Civil Air Patrol) there were a lot of shorter cadets there. So it took a little while to get used to it.
