Hey guys thanks for this review. Would u recommend the XM5 for office usage for taking calls? My office environment is very noisy and i am looking for a headphone with strong anc. Also should be able to take meetings. The Jabras are twice as expensive with ANC! Kindly advise.

Not sure if it's only my unit, but the bass is almost non-existent. I made the mistake of buying the XM5 from Sony's official website. You can't return items once delivered. Those reading this, don't make the same mistake.
Same here. I keep the clear bass at 8 to get a good amount of bass.

Can you do a over the ear headphone list for under 10k for beginner audiophiles. i basically needed something with a mic and above average audio quality. i checked out reviews for some gaming headphones as well but cant bring my self to trust them, wireless would be appreciated.

What is wavelet substitute for iPhone users, i can't find Wavlet app in iPhone-
Workaround : Pair it with an android device and use Wavelet and the Headphone will retain the EQ graph to the iPhone.

mine are not all that comfortable, doesn't have a great battery life, the high frequency of room fans is not cancelled and audio quality is only as good as any 5-6k headphones,. don't know if i have a defective piece

EQ is key here. I really did not like the default tuning on my friends XM3's and XM4's.
I use Wh-1000XM3 and i like prefit eq setting, they are very balanced and not bass heavy (yeah you can increase bass and thats makes a difference)

1. Oneplus Nord buds
2. Realme Buds Air 3S (not Air 3)
3. Oppo Encobuds 2
4. Realme Buds Q2 (not Q2s or Q2 Neo)

Buy realme air 3 if you can. I have q2 i wont recommend it. Its cheap but they are not that comfy and very bassy

For me comfort is not the main selling point it's the audio quality which matters and sony never concentrated on that at all
Ever since listening to Galaxy Buds 2 Pro I am spoiled by the tuning of AKG, a bit balanced on all frequencies and emphasis on highs and bass in the right proportion, something that I missed on the WF XM4. Sony's tuning doesn't work for all genres especially the ones that involve a lot of live instruments.

Sony tunes it for mass market and not audiophiles, they can easily make a neutral sounding one but no issues, you have a fantastic sound stage and EQ options. So these are wonderful. Kudos Sony

I had got and returned these. I had a major issue with the ANC in which it gave too much pressure feeling on my ears and head. This never happened with me on XM3 and XM4 (both WF and WH I have used). Also, when the ANC was off, I heard a low engine rumble kind of noise. The sound in the wired mode was like 1000 rs headphones. The overall wireless sound quality was similar to the Audio technical M50x. In some songs, I preferred these over the M50x.

It’s voice cancellation feature is amazing . Adaptive voice cancellation is very useful . Comfort of headphones is amazing . I got it for 26k from I world shop
I had the XM4. bought during this amazon sale. The earcups tend to apply a lot of force on my ears and after 30 to 40min of listening my ears became warm and sweaty. Therefore, I decided to return it.

6k iem moondrop aria sounds a lot better than these expensive bt headphones. Sony charges 30k just for anc and convince of wireless. Sound quality in no way is going to impress anyone who have experienced iems costing around 4k. Even a cheap 2k kz iems after 10hrs burn in session give these bt headphones a tough compitition in terms of sound quality without any external dac. If sound quality is ur no.1 priority better dont buy any wireless headphones or earphones. This is also a reason i hate the removal of 3.5mm audio jack from smartphones. Many phones have hifi internal dac but no audio jack.

Hy. Its just good. ANC doesn't give any churns..so far excellent..very much lesser airpressure felt in ears. Bass is great. Touch response is very fast and smooth. So comfy on head too.
How's the long term usage review?

Buy something that sound natural, Try some audiophile range of headphones and you would never go back to Sony

Tuning is always a problematic with Sony because the muffled part of that tuning never goes away, no matter which way you “eq” it. That’s why I always prefer Sennheiser or Shure to Sony.
Not for me! I use 1000XM3 and an audiophile as well and i never faced any problem, in fact the Base, vocals, mids and highs (like Sitar, Keyboard, Drums) are very balanced! Yeah their prefit equalizers aren't thats good like 'Excited' , 'Realxing' , 'vocal' , etc... they muffle the sounds a lot but i like manual settings more and thats it satisfies! 😅

Ya thats why Sony s more popular and it sells more. They tune for mass market and not audiophiles. Sony can easily make a neutral sounding one
Aahh pre-ordered these, please drop these reviews before the launch, don’t like the signature at all, so was mentioned in this review as well and no other on TH-cam. Should have bought bose 700 instead.
Try the Wavelet tuning.

Lmfao it's like comparing Redmi budget smartphone with iPhones.
When I hear boat I only see bass, a lot of bass to the point that it leaks into the other frequencies as well. The sound stage and seperation isn't good either. Tbh if you care about audio quality, you should stay away from boat products.
Roflll can’t agree more. They sound awful, their bass isn’t even tight and thumping either, it’s like playing an FM radio over your ear

@@kunaloza2109 If you're tight on budget then I'd recommend you to check out chifi IEMs. They're super cheap and offer a sound quality wayy better than audio products more than twice or even 5 times their price.
I'm personally using 7Hz Salnotes Zero and they're easily better than any sub 10k tws and any sub 20k wireless headphone in terms of audio quality.

FYI, what Indians have is a fairly neutral English accent.
I have the XM3... The sound is so bad that I'm not gonna buy any other Sony headphones in the near future. The bass is cartoonish and unbearable, it gives me headaches and makes everything muddy. I don't get who approved that stupid childish bass
If you take the time to EQ them properly and run ldac codec you shouldn't have any problems with them
