Jesus. That thing is enormous. I thought for sure it was just going to be a pillbox. Also extremely nice that it's basically untouched inside. Almost looks like you could open it back up for business immediately. That was a fantastic find.
That is absolutely incredible and ingenious. How many people drive past that everyday and have no idea it's there? What a brilliant way to hide something.
There are 2 more in this area in close proximity protecting the crossroads, and they are all part of the Italian alpine wall constructed by Benito Mussolini prior and during ww2. The one you visited is the smallest of the three. Towards Sella Nevea (left at the crossroas) you come across another ww1 fort that is demolished but back wall remains and a few cannons and if you go forward you come across some post war abandoned NATO instalations and bunkers/fortresses.
The fortified steel positio s are MG emplacement, the fortification you see is quite common in the Vallo Alpino del Littorio lone of fortifications, and was used until 1945. Some were repurposed for NATO use until late 70s, mid 80s.
wow, how clean is this Tino, damn near ready for you to move into it, small bed and breakfast and access to the lake, very sweet, bet that is an ideal escape in the summer - find out who owns it and if its vacant for you
So they had the dining room, the spa room, hot tub, larder full of parma hams, wine cellar - it all takes up a lot of space. Amazing how clean and ungraffitied it is.

Never expected that bunker on the side of the road to be that big. Must have took some work tunneling out all that rock.
