Clamatris McCoy , great comment. ..and def.agreed. [Maybe a little bias cause A.inC. is my fav.band, but that's one a the reasons I like 'em ,cause they were always so pure, real, and full of things that catch the human sensibility & emotion. No female hate either(no hate of any kind, really...which is also , as u said, a good reason to like Nirvana). To be honest, most of the 1990s "grunge" - type rock, shows little hate towards anyone, but just a dislike towards those that are ruining the World if anything and a stick it to the man type attitude, but it's so real, & so "kind", even thow it can feel or be dark many times. It's just a real interpretation of life and those melodies and riffs are priceless that go along with those voices. You probly like Temple of The Dog , if you like AudioSlave. It's not being weird. This entire Unplugged thing came out when I was 16 and it gave us all CRAZY feelings. Even in retrospect, it was still a once-in-a-lifetime kind of performance. Which it turned out to be, because he killed himself like a year later maybe.
You mean paused @ exactly 6:55? Yeah I know what you mean. It was like he was summoning all his energy by opening his eyes for a split second to belt out that lat note.
It's more than that. Go back and really look closely at every single picture of Kurt. His suicide should not have come as a surprise to anyone. Every single photo of him throughout Nirvana's rise and height and right up to his suicide shows nothing but madness in his eyes. Whatever is going on with the rest of his face or body language there was never anything but madness and depression in his eyes. I think even without the heroin he was destined for the 27 club.

Kurt had a voice that could tear through the universe. Glad I’m not the only one who has tears come to their eyes when listening to this cover. It’s beautiful.
For more Nirvana, I would recommend their performance of Drain You from Paris in 1994. You'll know it's the right one because they're all in suits. Also, from this same show (MTV Unplugged), The Man Who Sold The World.

You saw her feel the last ill shiver as much as anyone else that's ever heard Kurt sing it. Its as if He put every painful memory and feeling into that single first.
Loved your reaction. Kurt really had no idea how attractive he was and had low self of steam. Before he died no one really knew how good looking he really was. I witness accounts though always talk about his amazing super blue eyes. He had low self esteem cause he was really skinny as well do to a stomach ailment that ailed him most of his adult life. Honestly it wasn't tell after his death when MTV started to play this live unplugged concert constantly that we realized how pretty he was...but even then it wasn't in HD, now we can actually see better than back in the day. I'm a straight dude and and can't believe how attractive he was lol. Thanks for the reaction. BTW, feel free to just stare at your screen. It seemed like your head was pointing towards us while you had to point your eyes at the screen to your left. No need to not just stare at the screen!
PinkMetalHead- I just found your channel today and totally by accident. You are awesome!! I really enjoyed watching you, the video and your reaction to the video. One can totally tell you feel and appreciate music and you "hear" it. Almost everyone likes music in form or another but some people really experience it. That's how I feel about it anyway. Don't know if that makes sense, but wanted to tell you I think you are great and I will enjoy these with you and the rest of the community. Love and peace to you..
He certainly didn't see himself as one. He grew up feeling nervous and awkward, like he was an outcast. Related to his parents' divorce, I'm sure, and dick head jocks at school. I'm not sure if he had more than one girlfriend before the wife that ruined him. Maybe some action on the tours, like every rock idol ever.
@@Barefoot433 He had a few girlfriends over the years before marrying Courtney Love. There's actually a website that details some of his relationships. I could probably find it if I tried again. I found it recently. If he would have stayed with Tracy Marander, he probably would have still been alive today.
Yeah, I thought Tracy was his only real girlfriend before fame hit. She would have kept him alive, and not driven him off a cliff like Crazy "Sociopath" Courtney "Love". I still think she killed him. Tracy was really cute and petite during their time; it was kind of a shock to see that she had gotten so overweight just a few years later. Totally related to self-esteem issues of not being his when he made it big, after she supported him while he sat around writing. Common thing being in love with an artist, I guess.
INTRAGAME SOLUTIONS I'm sure he had a ton of girls even before he was famous. When you look like a movie star lime Kurt did I'm sure he had no problem getting any girl he wanted. Seems like a lot of great looking famous people say they could never get dates could never get girls etc. After he got famous he probably had a few girls in every state he could call when he was on tour not to mention the hundreds of girls dying to sleep with him after the concerts and parties afterwards. He was definitely genetically blessed with movie star looks and great musical talent he had it all!!!!
My mother always sang this to me as a lullabye when I was very little.💗 Ledbelly was a fascinating and complicated person. Thank you for taking me back! RIP Kurt. You are missed.
Most influential artist and song writer ever. But he thought he was scrawny and ugly. I cry every time from this I have the DVD BOX set with cd. That night was amazing he wanted it to look like a funeral with the black candles and star gazer lily's. The producer even asked him like a funeral and he said ya like a funeral. It makes me weep too. Amazing
Nirvana was a great alternative rock & grunge band with some of their songs heavy punk rock vibe to them especially their first few albums. Kurt was a good lookin fella, lot of females liked him lol, but had drug problems and depression. So sad. I remember the day he died. Made huge national news. 1994. MTV broke the news first. Hope that you do more Nirvana videos and Foo Fighters, too! Foo Fighters' singer used to be the drummer of Nirvana. Foo Fighters songs and style are almost similar to Nirvana obviously.
This was much earlier than that. No one knows for sure who originally wrote the song, it was late 1800’s but Leadbelly made it more popular. Even that was before the 40’s.
Danimal i'm pretty sure that Kurt Cobain's great grand father wrote the tune at some point in the XIX Century when he was dating Courtney's great grand mother.
He wasn't a heartthrob. He was an addict. But his voice and lyrics meant a lot to us who were teenagers in the early 90s. Up until then most teenagers didn't know it was the norm to be sad and depressed and we didn't know what to say or how to act as a collextive group. He, as much as he didn't want to be, was out voice. He wanted people to hear his music because he knew how relatable it was, but he hated how fame made him feel. It was nice to have nice things. It was nice to have fans. But the worship wasn't so nice and in the end it killed him. Yes drugs did too, and he'd had a problem with them for a decade. But trying to be someone he wasn't trying to be made it worse. A lot of the emotional songs from the 90s were made possible by his basically saying we don't know what to with ourselves, but here we are. I don't think his career could've survived the 2000s. He wouldn't be able to conform and I think pop would've made him jaded. It made all of us jaded, it *still* does. Fuck man--I'm still waiting for the poppy reign of terror to end tbh. Music has suffered because of the mindlessness of lyrics in today's music. It means nothing. A beat, some synth, and a lot of autotune fronted by a pretty face and you have a hit. It's sad. Getting old and being wise sucks sometimes. But that dark, depressing time was one of the best times to live through with grunge.
Lafawnduh I was only 8 when Kurt died but I remember my cousins and my older sister were infatuated with him. Yes he was an addict, but he was also a heartthrob.
Lafawnduh Everyone knows he was an addict, but I don't think that's a great opening statement. That man was wanted by every groupie bc of his charisma. His career would've lasted through the 2000's easily, were it not for his psycho bitch wife having him murdered. That being said, what do you think Jeff Buckley would have done musically had he not passed!?
I'm 51. I was right in the thick of things when Nirvana hit the scene, and Kurt was never a 'heartthrob'. He was always taken much more seriously than that, always something much, much darker and more dangerous than that. He was no Justin Bieber or Timberlake. It was understood by everyone that this was a man fighting demons.
«This is a cover of “In The Pines” by Kurt Cobain’s “favourite performer”, Lead Belly. As the closing track of Nirvana’s Unplugged in New York album and televised concert, it was the last song on the last album released before his death. (...) Leadbelly was a folk-blues musician who began playing instruments at a young age, eventually mastering his signature 12 string guitar. While serving time for murder in 1925, he was pardoned by the Governor of Texas. The governor had visited the prison several times to hear Leadbelly sing, and Leadbelly later maintained that he won over the governor with his song “Please Pardon Me.” (...) Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain was known to be heavily influenced by Leadbelly. Nirvana covered two other Leadbelly songs, “Ain’t It A Shame” and “They Hung Him on a Cross”.» (Source: Genius)
I'm probably gonna get killed for this, but I love watching you react to these songs! You aren't shy about investing yourself 100%, I love how you're moved by them!
No he was never a heart throb. He lived 6 blicks from me and he was the outcast..kids were mean. Its even better when they have no idea they are gorgeous.❤
Not only cheating, she was responsable for he being killed. No suïcide, got 100% debunked. He knew what was coming to him... one of his last performances. Died/got killed same year at age 27 (as so many artists).
A friend of mine whos Dad worked for Geffen gifted me a ticket to be present there on my birthday, Nov 18th there in NYC. It was truly an honor to have been there for this iconic performance......
Your honest emotional reaction when Kurt let it out took me straight back to the 90's and how I felt when first heard the nevermind album.I'm now a subscriber..and your so damn cute.
Beautiful reaction to a verry rare, sad and beautiful moment in music history at the same time... You can feel his pain and the pure raw emotions of this performance his last.
These are the type of performances that immortalize you. It did. This was his last performance. Also I believe nutshell that you did was Laynes. Notice how Layne was almost completely covered (hands, arms, eyes) was trying to hide it (heroin addiction). But this is why I told you to do Alice in Chains Dont follow. It's 2 verses first one is his band mate Cantrell who is essentially making a plea to Layne and the second is layne basically describing his rotting away and impending death. It's insanely deep and emotional. You will most certainly love it
I read somewhere that Alice in Chains were supposed to perform "Don't Follow" for the MTV Unplugged set, but Layne couldn't get through it without crying during rehearsal. Kurt and Layne were so talented but could never find peace in this world. RIP
STILL WAITING ON MY ALICE IN CHAINS ROOSTER 93 NETHERLANDS REACTION. also, funny thing about this performance as a whole; you see how softly dave grohl is playing his drum kit? at the beginning of the performance, he was playing much louder. however, as the show went on, kurt would keep turning back to him between songs, asking him to play softer. midway through the show, one of the roadies handed him like a bundle of like broom hairs or something to play with in place of drum sticks
They are all Good-'Again is cool- I really want to hear 'You Cant Bring Me Down by Suicidal Tendencies uncensored music video -1st one that comes up type this in to get best version Kick Ass Anti Censorship Anthem- 1990
Thank you very much for your reaction video. As a Nirvana fan, I was very happy to see your reaction. Just watching your expression throughout the video made me emotional because I felt like you “went along for the ride” as you listened to the song and appreciated what you heard.
Imagine being a pre-teen seeing this on MTV back in the day! No internet searches, just seeing and liking and loving enough to run out and buy the records and tapes! SO fun!
This is one of my secret favourites , its a very average song that in truth, half way, starts to turn you off because he sings it so low and slow like he cant be bothered..................... and then the pain floods out and it feels warm, GOOD , you feel your soul start to crush as the anguish builds because you've been here before , you know that desperate feeling of loss you know the dread , and then you notice the missed words because, thats what you do in anguish....... then comes the scream and the flash of his eyes and you know that he knows pain he knows anguish and hes walked you through it and now your safe. Im older now and this song along with Pearl Jams "Black" haunt my soul...... in a good way, they crush your heart and then walk you home to make sure your safe. I miss his voice and talent , i hope he has found peace.
This is my all time favorite cover. I remember hearing it for the first time and it heavily influenced me discovering the delta blues and inspired me to start playing guitar. There's something magical about hearing a song like this for the first time and it's awesome to see someone experience that :)
It's amazing and beautiful that a piece of art made by someone from a completely different era could affect resonate an artist 50 years later, who would make such a unique and completely different soulful rendition of it...
I agree. I like Trent Reznor, and highly respect his skills, and talents. With that said, Johnny singing that, made it his song. Even Trent commented, that when he saw it "It wasn't my song anymore" The video made that even more apparent.
Wow. You are absolutely right, He is seriously one beautiful man..probably the most beautiful I’ve ever seen in my entire life. Not only that but talent wise he was the most raw, passionate, not caring what anyone thinks artist ever. That’s why I found him so attractive and love their music and I’m so glad to see that you do too as well. You appreciate pure talent. Much love. 💗 I feel like we could be soul sisters. 💗
several artists and bands have covered this old folk song over the years but Nirvana really took it to another level during this show. you know kurt was a once in a lifetime talent when his voice alone could still make someone cry years after his passing.
PinkMetalHead it's nice to see one of my fellow African Americans listening to Nirvana most black people don't look back on rock music it's really nice that someone that's a black person listened to them thanks I'm mixed by the way 🙄😇😇
for real! As much as I love the song, especially Unplugged like that, I don't think I even once took my own eyes off this beautiful lady's eyes, like the music was in them and not in the video inset
GOOD JOB again on selecting this classic artist!! Ur MAGIC while doing VIDEO REEACTIONS together U gimme such pleasure to my eyes UR such JOY to watch HONESTLY! .... CONTINUE SUCESS Ur amigo ALBERTO from MEXICO that loves Ur channel!!
For me its 24 years old that version of the song and brings chills every time! There is nothing quite like Nirvana nor Kurt and will forever be missed!!!
I think it's time for you to hear some Smashing Pumpkins! They're borderline grunge. Some great ones from them are Bullet with Butterfly Wings, Today, and Mayonnaise.
Maroon Blossom yeah and i disagree with the woman saying he wasn't a hearthrob cuz he was an addict. i mean that word heartthrob sounds cheesy but again many gorgeous looking men who feel deeply in the music biz become addicts and girls still swoon. i don't think he wanted to be that though, as most serious rock stars don't. he did want to be a legend though and THE best, he has become a legend in part to ppl loving his music but also due to dying young. esp at 27!!!!!!
@@laurietopp6445 He definitely wanted to be famous, his whole "I don't give a fuck about fame" attitude was just an act. He would secretly called radio stations and his manager to tell them that their songs weren't getting played enough...
I like how you really pay attention to the video you're reacting to. some vloggers talk over the video and you can tell how distracted they are constantly looking away but you were very focused
I was 16 when this aired on MTV. I sat in the living room about 4 feet from the tv and didn't move. I don't even think I breathed. It was the single most amazing thing I had ever seen. But when I go back and watch it now, I see it as Kurt's funeral. Lilies. Candles. The entire atmosphere. He was an incredibly tortured man. I hope he's finally found some peace. I was inconsolable the day he died.
That look in Kurt's eye when he takes a breath at the end... omg! It gives me chills!!! This is the best reaction of Nirvana I have seen yet! Just beautiful! 💖🎶✌🏼
Omg mine too. No one can bring out the rawness the way Kurt used to 😭😭💜💜💜💜👏

Most people don't know this, but this song is a remake from a blues artist from the 40s name Leadbelly and I've always enjoyed this cover.

I love this version , but I do think that Huddie Ledbetters version is better
GroovingPict well surprisingly enough ALOT of people still think NIRVANA wrote it. its like they can't hear him saying that for some odd reason.
In the Pines is an American Folk song dating back to 1870. Lead Belly recorded it in the 1940s. Worth checking out.

Kurt was our voice in the 90s. He gave us something we didn't know we needed.
Kurt Cobain and Layne Staley......2 of the.....if not THE 2 best, soulful voices in rock music history, glad to see you now experienced.
Eddie vedder
Vespers Haven eddie is like cornell in that the music moves through him and the passion comes through so deeply, you can get goosebumps.
Not in rock history. Plenty of other singers with soulful voices. Who are betrer
and Scott Weiland for that era of music
Layne, Kurt and Chris Cornell. They are the voices.
I've listened to this song nearly everyday since 94 and still tear up.
Damn that sucks when someone doesn't realize how amazing they are....
Still get the chills. It was such a big deal when he died. I was 19. Funny thing is he really wasn't know as a sex symbol at all then.
Kurt was very much noticed for his looks in the 90s. He just wasn't the type of guy to notice.
My mother always sang this to me as a lullabye when I was very little.💗 Ledbelly was a fascinating and complicated person. Thank you for taking me back! RIP Kurt. You are missed.
Nirvana-All Apologies (Live and Loud)
ALL OF UNPLUGGED!!
I love this reaction. Sweetie, Kurt is the best on key "yeller" in rock history. So glad you liked it. He could go from soft to loud like no one else!
The guitar just sold for six million dollars.
Foo Fighters songs and style are almost similar to Nirvana obviously.
joe smith Football fighters are nothing like nirvana. Idk why people say that. Literally nothing
"especially their first few albums" damn how many albums do you think they made
Food fighters are basically fighting for foods kind of band
Jack Thapa who the hell is the food fighters
Everytime he starts into the "my girl, my girl" towards the end my soul soars out of my body and every hair on my body stands up.
Kurdt Cobain is a F'n LEGEND at its HIGHEST HONOR!
awesome cover of the 40s lead belly song!
This was much earlier than that. No one knows for sure who originally wrote the song, it was late 1800’s but Leadbelly made it more popular. Even that was before the 40’s.
Well it's a Lead Belly Estate😄
Danimal i'm pretty sure that Kurt Cobain's great grand father wrote the tune at some point in the XIX Century when he was dating Courtney's great grand mother.
Sssshhhh.
Loved your reaction and its so cool you reacted so positively to them, I listened to them since the 90s. You have beautiful eyes too. Be well.
Lafawnduh Kurt wasn't addicted to heroin until the last 3 years of his life.
Best description of why we loved him
«This is a cover of “In The Pines” by Kurt Cobain’s “favourite performer”, Lead Belly. As the closing track of Nirvana’s Unplugged in New York album and televised concert, it was the last song on the last album released before his death.
(...)
Leadbelly was a folk-blues musician who began playing instruments at a young age, eventually mastering his signature 12 string guitar.
While serving time for murder in 1925, he was pardoned by the Governor of Texas. The governor had visited the prison several times to hear Leadbelly sing, and Leadbelly later maintained that he won over the governor with his song “Please Pardon Me.”
(...)
Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain was known to be heavily influenced by Leadbelly.
Nirvana covered two other Leadbelly songs, “Ain’t It A Shame” and “They Hung Him on a Cross”.»

I'm probably gonna get killed for this, but I love watching you react to these songs! You aren't shy about investing yourself 100%, I love how you're moved by them!
Thanks so much Will! Comments like yours definitely keep me going
Will Raibley lol what? Why would you get killed for that? Kind of the point
No he was never a heart throb. He lived 6 blicks from me and he was the outcast..kids were mean. Its even better when they have no idea they are gorgeous.❤
Considering he thought/knew his wife was cheating on him gives it more perspective.
Not only cheating, she was responsable for he being killed. No suïcide, got 100% debunked. He knew what was coming to him... one of his last performances. Died/got killed same year at age 27 (as so many artists).
I heard all of that but, did he know "at that time"?....if so, yeah damn....tough one
@@bjmcmahon722 Pretty sure, that was part of the reason for divorcing her. And the whole sociopathic money hungry image thing too.
A friend of mine whos Dad worked for Geffen gifted me a ticket to be present there on my birthday, Nov 18th there in NYC. It was truly an honor to have been there for this iconic performance......
I m so happy that people still love nirvana and I love your reaction 😃😃
This is without a doubt my favourite reaction of all time. Seeing you brought to tears always brings me to tears!
Such a loss...
RIP Kurt D. Cobain
1967-1994 😪😔 Kurt u will be missed 😱
You know, he changed Ledbelly’s lyrics slightly from “black girl” to “ my girl.” What an amazing song.
Yes, this just made my night! Awesome 😄
Omg ... Kurt was so beautiful.
And you have something coming to you in the mail! Hopefully it gets there in the next couple days 😁
Thanks Kristin!!
This is the best reaction video I've seen so far, from anyone.
RIP
When his voice rises, my soul joins the fun...
Nirvana - Something In The Way might get the waterworks goin for ya
Ahwits especially considering Kurt wrote that song about when he actually lived under a bridge less than a year before he recorded "Teen Spirit"
Ahwits I think she'd probly tear up over a few of their songs.
I've been tearing up every time since MTV did this Unplugged!
My favorite Nirvana song. Kurt is so sexy, and so talented. Love your videos.
I love this. As long as we keep discovering what we missed, music will never die 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Haha I got you!! I'll do "rooster" "frog" "again"...more AIC coming!
PinkMetalHead alas, i can die in peace now
Waitin too for netherlands :B send you love !

You'd never think Nirvana would play a semi country song but it's one of the best
It's a blues song.
First time to your channel.
I'm a 67 yr WM.
You have a sensitive soul and you're assessment shows how intuitive your heart is.
Wow!
i started sobbing as soon as it started. thanks for sharing Nirvana Kurt Cobain forever 💙
I miss his voice and talent , i hope he has found peace.
there is nothing average about this song. It's the kind of piercing blues that has almost sadly been completely forgotten.
This is my all time favorite cover. I remember hearing it for the first time and it heavily influenced me discovering the delta blues and inspired me to start playing guitar. There's something magical about hearing a song like this for the first time and it's awesome to see someone experience that :)
I embrace your honesty and I look forward to more
It's amazing and beautiful that a piece of art made by someone from a completely different era could affect resonate an artist 50 years later, who would make such a unique and completely different soulful rendition of it...
Johnny Cash - Hurt
It lives up to its title. Thanks, Trent. Thanks, Johnny.
Hurt is one of those songs where the cover is actually better than the original in my humble opinion.
I agree. I like Trent Reznor, and highly respect his skills, and talents. With that said, Johnny singing that, made it his song. Even Trent commented, that when he saw it "It wasn't my song anymore" The video made that even more apparent.
My personal NIN song would have to be "Kinda I want to." Check it out PinkMetalHead!!
Yes please.
I've heard this song done by him a thousand times, but it still sends like a wave of energy all over my body when he hits that high part.
Pink, sweetie- I listen to Nirvana, but, I have NEVER heard that song!
Thank you!
An incredible song and performance and an absolutely wonderful reaction :D
Thanks :)
several artists and bands have covered this old folk song over the years but Nirvana really took it to another level during this show. you know kurt was a once in a lifetime talent when his voice alone could still make someone cry years after his passing.
The more cute girls into metal/rock the better. Keep it up. \m/
Thanks :)
You're welcome.
PinkMetalHead it's nice to see one of my fellow African Americans listening to Nirvana most black people don't look back on rock music it's really nice that someone that's a black person listened to them thanks I'm mixed by the way 🙄😇😇
Ditto!!!
Your amazing and so cute as well. Were have you been all my life. Black female with an open mind and articulate.
For me its 24 years old that version of the song and brings chills every time! There is nothing quite like Nirvana nor Kurt and will forever be missed!!!
Damn, you are gorgeous. Loved your reaction as well. Keep doing you girl.
I was excited to watch because I knew you were about to be astounded. You didn't disappoint, great reaction video.
Top that, Beyoncé.
Matthew Witmer why are you comparing a pop performer with nirvana.....

You don’t know, then you cried, and now you know. That’s basically Nirvana.
I think it's time for you to hear some Smashing Pumpkins!
They're borderline grunge.
Some great ones from them are Bullet with Butterfly Wings, Today, and Mayonnaise.
Bailey Groves SOMA
Bailey Groves Siamese Dream! Cherub Rock!!
I wish I was there. Fucking amazing.
actually in the 90's he was more of the anti heart throb.
yea, but that made him even more of a hearthrob tho
Maroon Blossom yeah and i disagree with the woman saying he wasn't a hearthrob cuz he was an addict. i mean that word heartthrob sounds cheesy but again many gorgeous looking men who feel deeply in the music biz become addicts and girls still swoon. i don't think he wanted to be that though, as most serious rock stars don't. he did want to be a legend though and THE best, he has become a legend in part to ppl loving his music but also due to dying young. esp at 27!!!!!!
Oh he was a heartthrob. Maybe he was slender. But what a handsome face honestly. And those truly blue eyes.
@@laurietopp6445 He definitely wanted to be famous, his whole "I don't give a fuck about fame" attitude was just an act. He would secretly called radio stations and his manager to tell them that their songs weren't getting played enough...
JJ where the fuck did you get all? Ya got proof?
I like how you really pay attention to the video you're reacting to. some vloggers talk over the video and you can tell how distracted they are constantly looking away but you were very focused
Courtney Love 💯% DEFINITELY killed his ass. Facts
He was so gorgeous. I love all these songs live. By far my favorite performance of theirs.
I came to this cause I think you are a beautiful black queen...but I love the reaction also....💝
I was 16 when this aired on MTV.
