So happy for you both! I actually started knitting when I was pregnant, it was during COVID. She's 2.5 now and knitting for her is one of my favourite things. Fills me with pride to see her in something I've made. At times it will feel like it is going slowly because you are so anxious to meet this new person, but when you look back on it, it will seem that the time flew by. My eldest son - 31 - is about to make me a grandmother in less than 2 weeks. That is absolutely surreal. I remember carrying him in my arms all day and night, and how he seemed to be permanently attached so he could nurse. By the way, your husband is so good. Carrying your basket, filming you, giving you sensible opinions.

My 2nd daughter was trying for a second child but she needed IVF and became pregnant on the final try Lydia Martha is 5 weeks now she’s gorgeous we are thrilled to bits! i went the other way around - i started making baby sweaters for anyone i know who gets pregnant, and that taught me how to make sweaters for myself! you're doing a great job. you could consider a zipper (i've heard parents say fiddling with tiny buttons can be frustrating sometimes). if you don't like how the buttonholes look, the buttons will cover them! it's ok :)
A huge congratulations! I noticed your bump whilst you were in the second yarn shop lol. I’m so excited for you! I have 2 boys, both grown up now and my knitting journey really took off when I was pregnant with the first. Trust me, they don’t stay small for long, so even if your baby knit is a bit big, they will soon grow into it and if you keep your leftovers you could always make alterations later on 😊

In blue. 3 years later, I used it on my first born. I was a mom at 21. I was scared that I wouldn't know what to do. My mother told me my instinct would take over. She was right. Don't be afraid. There are many moms out there willing to provide support. Join a moms to be group. It will fit eventually, even if it's big at first. They grow like crazy! Cheers!🎉🎉🎉
Congratulations! :) pregnancy is very special time:) I bought bodies from size 56 an size 62 and managed to use them as my measurements for knitting (a little bit looser). Eventually, now we have so many patterns for baby's..oh, now I will wait more 10-15 years for my grandkids:D to knit for them :)

I guessed it! I am in my 60s and I have 4 children. As for being prepared, nobody is! You might think you are, but there are always surprises. It will come naturally. Don't be nervous, you'll be fine. Babies are surprisingly resilient. Just do your best.

I was a very young mother with 3 baby boys by the time I was 21, In am now 35 and my boys are teenagers, my oldest will be 18 in March. They grow up fast so enjoy the little moments. You will get lots of parenting advice but everyone has their own way of parenting so do what feels right for you ❤

Great, maybe we’ll see baby knitting. I have grandkids, specifically a new grandson soon to be 1 yr old. Still not walking yet but he’s the cutest baby ever… of course everyone says that about their children and grandkids, however… he really is cute and smart. I smile every time I think about him or see him. So for Christmas I will be knitting a sweater for him.
So, so, super happy for you. It’s so lovely to hear you talking about your motherhood journey, as I haven’t been able to go through it myself, I adopted instead. I’m also inspired to visit Copenhagen- thank you.
Oh, also, knitting for babes is so hard because they grow so fast. So acknowledge you are confort knitting for yourself 😂 Good for meditation and endorphin production which is super healthy for momma + baby! Newborn knits can be hard because they are usually messy so young and we are so tired in the first 3 months or so with a newborn. When given the choice of washing and blocking a newborn knit or sleep, most moms would probably choose sleep at that time. A knit in a size that fits about 9-12 months or up you'll definitely know the baby will wear a lot. You'll have gotten more sleep 🤞🏻 and you'll be used to all the new routines and systems. Yay congrats! 😍 I’m eight months pregnant myself and somehow sensed this was coming 😅 I’ve already knitted a cardigan for my baby girl and purposefully made it in a bigger size so that she’ll be able to wear it longer. I’m looking forward to all the baby clothes patterns you’ll make!
I am 6 months pregnant and I sensed it too! How funny! I think I saw her drink orange juice instead of champagne in one of the last 2 videos and I suspected, lol!
So exciting! Babies grow so fast! Sometimes you can spend more time knitting than they spend fitting what you made (you are a fast knitter so that may not be the case for you. 😉) Make some larger garments for later, because knitting time will be limited when your arms are full of baby. Pay attention to the seasons such as they are where you live. You don’t want to make something very thick and wooly that will only fit in the hottest part of summer! Soon you will feel the baby moving and that is a very exciting time. Savor it!

My 'mom advice'....use your clothes dryer as a changing table; perfect height, warm, makes a vibration for soothing and you can pop in a towel to heat for baby to lay on while changing. Everything will come to you, there is no one answer for raising an individual. Relax and enjoy!

I’ve got a grandson Ioan age 9 and both my daughters had a baby on the same day they are both 6 Tomos was 5 weeks early my 2nd daughter 1st baby and Meleri a sister for Ioan!
My 2nd daughter was trying for a second child but she needed IVF and became pregnant on the final try
Lydia Martha is 5 weeks now she’s gorgeous we are thrilled to bits!

i went the other way around - i started making baby sweaters for anyone i know who gets pregnant, and that taught me how to make sweaters for myself! you're doing a great job. you could consider a zipper (i've heard parents say fiddling with tiny buttons can be frustrating sometimes). if you don't like how the buttonholes look, the buttons will cover them! it's ok :)

A huge congratulations! I noticed your bump whilst you were in the second yarn shop lol. I’m so excited for you! I have 2 boys, both grown up now and my knitting journey really took off when I was pregnant with the first. Trust me, they don’t stay small for long, so even if your baby knit is a bit big, they will soon grow into it and if you keep your leftovers you could always make alterations later on 😊

I was a mom at 21. I was scared that I wouldn't know what to do. My mother told me my instinct would take over. She was right. Don't be afraid. There are many moms out there willing to provide support. Join a moms to be group.

Congratulations! :) pregnancy is very special time:) I bought bodies from size 56 an size 62 and managed to use them as my measurements for knitting (a little bit looser). Eventually, now we have so many patterns for baby's..oh, now I will wait more 10-15 years for my grandkids:D to knit for them :)

I guessed it! I am in my 60s and I have 4 children. As for being prepared, nobody is! You might think you are, but there are always surprises. It will come naturally. Don't be nervous, you'll be fine. Babies are surprisingly resilient. Just do your best.

My husband and i are currently on our ttc journey and it has been hard on us too. I am currently not pregnant yet, though i am still very hopefull. First i saw your post on IG and thats when i wanted to comment this as well. But i didnt want to come across as jealous or angry (i promise i am not) and certainly not on something thats a very happy anouncement and also has nothing to do with me. But hearing you talk a little bit about your struggles gave me the courage to share it. I was a very young mother with 3 baby boys by the time I was 21, In am now 35 and my boys are teenagers, my oldest will be 18 in March. They grow up fast so enjoy the little moments. You will get lots of parenting advice but everyone has their own way of parenting so do what feels right for you ❤

Great, maybe we’ll see baby knitting. I have grandkids, specifically a new grandson soon to be 1 yr old. Still not walking yet but he’s the cutest baby ever… of course everyone says that about their children and grandkids, however… he really is cute and smart. I smile every time I think about him or see him. So for Christmas I will be knitting a sweater for him.
So, so, super happy for you. It’s so lovely to hear you talking about your motherhood journey, as I haven’t been able to go through it myself, I adopted instead. I’m also inspired to visit Copenhagen- thank you.
Oh, also, knitting for babes is so hard because they grow so fast. So acknowledge you are confort knitting for yourself 😂 Good for meditation and endorphin production which is super healthy for momma + baby! Newborn knits can be hard because they are usually messy so young and we are so tired in the first 3 months or so with a newborn. When given the choice of washing and blocking a newborn knit or sleep, most moms would probably choose sleep at that time. A knit in a size that fits about 9-12 months or up you'll definitely know the baby will wear a lot. You'll have gotten more sleep 🤞🏻 and you'll be used to all the new routines and systems.

Yay congrats! 😍 I’m eight months pregnant myself and somehow sensed this was coming 😅 I’ve already knitted a cardigan for my baby girl and purposefully made it in a bigger size so that she’ll be able to wear it longer. I’m looking forward to all the baby clothes patterns you’ll make!

Babies grow so fast! Sometimes you can spend more time knitting than they spend fitting what you made (you are a fast knitter so that may not be the case for you. 😉)
Make some larger garments for later, because knitting time will be limited when your arms are full of baby.
Pay attention to the seasons such as they are where you live. You don’t want to make something very thick and wooly that will only fit in the hottest part of summer!
Soon you will feel the baby moving and that is a very exciting time. Savor it!
Oh my word, congratulations on the coming baby! That's super exciting! I'm legit so happy for you. Yeah, baby sizes range like crazy - some are teeny tiny, and some are beeg! And if you knit something that doesn't fit the little one, you can always donate it - lots of parents who would appreciate that. :)

Congratulations! In America, we call the baby garment you're making is called an onesie. I think that's because its pants and top together. Onesie are so very useful. Just pop baby in and go. Congratulations ! Get rest as much as you can , this come from mom of three children , because you gonna need all the energy you have once the baby come . It is a big life change but also very sweet . You guys going to be a wonderful parents 😍 For baby equipment make sure to borrow from friends and family as much as you can , crib , baby wheels , even newborn clothes , because baby grow that stuff so quick . I have a girl (12) and a boy (9). Waiting for the first child is so stressful 😅, I made my husband crazy about that topic. Our daughter decided to wait 2 years.But it's also the stress and the subconscious expectation that it won't work right away.
We didn't wait for our son, he was suddenly there.😅
Don't worry so much about whether you're doing everything right with your baby. You will see your instincts will guide you and you will be a great loving mommy.❤

Congratulations!!!!! Baby's first knit is beautiful and will get lots of wear. My 'mom advice'....use your clothes dryer as a changing table; perfect height, warm, makes a vibration for soothing and you can pop in a towel to heat for baby to lay on while changing. Everything will come to you, there is no one answer for raising an individual. Relax and enjoy!

Congrats!! I would totally make a baby blanket. They use them forever, my grandma has knit each of my babies a blanket and my oldest is 9 and still has his on his bed ❤ Also it IS overwhelming. That’s completely normal, you will grow in capacity as your baby grows!
