Congratulations! I’m so happy for you both. Babies grow fast so don’t worry so much about the size you’re knitting, just enjoy, and remember that babies wear diapers which will take up space.

Congratulations! I’m a mom of 2 girls & both pregnancies were so different. One as magical & euphoric while the other was torture every day. My one advice to you & all future moms is give yourself grace, growing a human is not easy ❤
Congratulations ❤ I’m a mom of 3 boys ! Yay boy moms 😂 I’m 41 currently and my oldest is 17, middle son 15 and my youngest is 20 months. He was our surprise baby. Enjoy ur pregnancy because time goes by so fast and that baby that you were imagining their features will be going off into the world. It’s an amazing crazy journey parenthood. And you’ll love every minute of it
I have one sibling. She is 14 years older than I am. We were not necessarily close growing up because we were so far apart. But in our adult years (after I finally grew up), we are best friends.

Congratulations to you both! You are always such a positive person and now you are positively brimming over with joy. Children are such little miracles, and every day your heart will overflow with love. Enjoy all the emotions and worries and second guessing...it's all good and meaningful and proper. No matter how much you feel you are failing, at any given moment, your child would rather have you and your imperfections than any other person in the world because YOU are their mother and that is more important than any shortcomings. You are going to be a wonderful mother!

Congratulations! I became a grandmother this year and I started knitting baby clothes - I highly recommend knitting baby cardigans rather than sweaters as babies hate having things pulled over their heads!

So happy for you both! I actually started knitting when I was pregnant, it was during COVID. She's 2.5 now and knitting for her is one of my favourite things. Fills me with pride to see her in something I've made. That and it's alot quicker than knitting for yourself 😅 tearing up watching your trepidation, so many including myself feel the same at the beginning of pregnancy, hopefully you can begin to relax into the journey more and more as time goes on. So excited for you both though! So excited for all your future projects ❤

Welcome to motherhood. Lots of excitement and always a bit of terror. Even now that they are 33 and 36, I still have those feelings.

I could tell even before you said anything, you are blooming! Knitting for kids is so much fun. Now mine are grown up it is lovely to see old photos where they are all wearing the things I knitted. I never conformed to pink/blue - my daughter looked lovely in blues. Congratulations!

I guessed it! I am in my 60s and I have 4 children. As for being prepared, nobody is! You might think you are, but there are always surprises. It will come naturally. Don't be nervous, you'll be fine. Babies are surprisingly resilient. Just do your best.

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS!!! I wish you, Juki, and your child, health and every happiness in the world! Enjoy every moment of your pregnancy. At times it will feel like it is going slowly because you are so anxious to meet this new person, but when you look back on it, it will seem that the time flew by. My eldest son - 31 - is about to make me a grandmother in less than 2 weeks. That is absolutely surreal. I remember carrying him in my arms all day and night, and how he seemed to be permanently attached so he could nurse. By the way, your husband is so good. Carrying your basket, filming you, giving you sensible opinions.
i went the other way around - i started making baby sweaters for anyone i know who gets pregnant, and that taught me how to make sweaters for myself! you're doing a great job. you could consider a zipper (i've heard parents say fiddling with tiny buttons can be frustrating sometimes). if you don't like how the buttonholes look, the buttons will cover them! it's ok :)
A huge congratulations! I noticed your bump whilst you were in the second yarn shop lol. I’m so excited for you! I have 2 boys, both grown up now and my knitting journey really took off when I was pregnant with the first. Trust me, they don’t stay small for long, so even if your baby knit is a bit big, they will soon grow into it and if you keep your leftovers you could always make alterations later on 😊

I’ve got a grandson Ioan age 9 and both my daughters had a baby on the same day they are both 6 Tomos was 5 weeks early my 2nd daughter 1st baby and Meleri a sister for Ioan!
My 2nd daughter was trying for a second child but she needed IVF and became pregnant on the final try
Lydia Martha is 5 weeks now she’s gorgeous we are thrilled to bits!

My partner and I are about to take a trip on Friday to Copenhagen to go to Noma, our dream restaurant, and of course, I have to go to some knit shops and found your two videos helpful! I have my list of projects that I want to tackle and now to find the perfect yarns! We traveled to Tokyo & Kyoto a few years back and those yarns ended up being so special. I love getting yarn while traveling, it is the perfect memento! Cheers to you and your husband and may you & your bebé, be well.
Oh my word, congratulations on the coming baby! That's super exciting! I'm legit so happy for you. Yeah, baby sizes range like crazy - some are teeny tiny, and some are beeg! And if you knit something that doesn't fit the little one, you can always donate it - lots of parents who would appreciate that. :)

Babies grow so fast! Sometimes you can spend more time knitting than they spend fitting what you made (you are a fast knitter so that may not be the case for you. 😉)
Make some larger garments for later, because knitting time will be limited when your arms are full of baby.
Pay attention to the seasons such as they are where you live. You don’t want to make something very thick and wooly that will only fit in the hottest part of summer!
Soon you will feel the baby moving and that is a very exciting time. Savor it!

Congratulations-this is a very exciting time for sure. My babies are now 33 and 28. WOW, has time flown. The best advice someone gave me is to enjoy each part of your child’s development-sometimes fun, sometimes tough, but always joyful in the end. Best of luck for an easy pregnancy.

The baby knit is very nice. New born babies are not sleeping with straight arms and legs, so it's ok to knit a little bit oversized. Happy for you, and wish you very best in the most important project in your life ❤

Congratulations ! Get rest as much as you can , this come from mom of three children , because you gonna need all the energy you have once the baby come . It is a big life change but also very sweet . You guys going to be a wonderful parents 😍 For baby equipment make sure to borrow from friends and family as much as you can , crib , baby wheels , even newborn clothes , because baby grow that stuff so quick . For pregnancy clothes make sure to have two pairs of pregnancy jeans and you are good to go . Good luck to both of you and once again congratulations 🥰
Congratulations!! The joy that shines through you is so contagious- so excited for you!! As a mom of 4, I just wanted to tell you that all the feelings you are having are SO normal and pregnancy dreams are so strange! I once dreamed that Beyonce was mowing my front lawn lol. Wishing you all the best! I've so enjoyed your knitting book and patterns and have completed a few so far- which sweater are you wearing under the striped overalls?! Love the look and want to knit it next!
Oh, also, knitting for babes is so hard because they grow so fast. So acknowledge you are confort knitting for yourself 😂 Good for meditation and endorphin production which is super healthy for momma + baby! Newborn knits can be hard because they are usually messy so young and we are so tired in the first 3 months or so with a newborn. When given the choice of washing and blocking a newborn knit or sleep, most moms would probably choose sleep at that time. A knit in a size that fits about 9-12 months or up you'll definitely know the baby will wear a lot. You'll have gotten more sleep 🤞🏻 and you'll be used to all the new routines and systems.

Congrats!! I would totally make a baby blanket. They use them forever, my grandma has knit each of my babies a blanket and my oldest is 9 and still has his on his bed ❤ Also it IS overwhelming. That’s completely normal, you will grow in capacity as your baby grows!

Yay congrats! 😍 I’m eight months pregnant myself and somehow sensed this was coming 😅 I’ve already knitted a cardigan for my baby girl and purposefully made it in a bigger size so that she’ll be able to wear it longer. I’m looking forward to all the baby clothes patterns you’ll make!
I am 6 months pregnant and I sensed it too! How funny! I think I saw her drink orange juice instead of champagne in one of the last 2 videos and I suspected, lol!

Itse sain oman tyttäreni samaan aikaan kun täytin 22 v ja nyt tyttäreni odottaa omaa esikoistaan eikä ihan ehdi täyttää 22 v, kun vauva syntyy (jos kaikki menee hyvin). Itse olen vielä nuori mummi ja jaksan hyvin olla heidän apuna. Olen ollut onneni kukkuloilla jo ihan mummiudesta :) Kaunis haalari! Minäkin olen neulonut paljon haalareita viimeisen vuoden aikana lahjaksi. Petite Knitillä on kivoja ohjeita, mutta ymmärrän, että neulesuunnittelijana haluat itse ratkoa / miettiä vaatekappaleiden rakenteita :) Ihanaa odotusta
Congratulations! :) pregnancy is very special time:) I bought bodies from size 56 an size 62 and managed to use them as my measurements for knitting (a little bit looser). Eventually, now we have so many patterns for baby's..oh, now I will wait more 10-15 years for my grandkids:D to knit for them :)
Congratulations to both of you on your baby! It's a blast to knit baby clothes. I knitted something like that in high school as a project. A total body suit. In blue. 3 years later, I used it on my first born.
I was a mom at 21. I was scared that I wouldn't know what to do. My mother told me my instinct would take over. She was right. Don't be afraid. There are many moms out there willing to provide support. Join a moms to be group.
It will fit eventually, even if it's big at first. They grow like crazy! Cheers!🎉🎉🎉

A huge Congratulation to you both!! I'm very happy for you (I may have don't a bit of a happy dance). As a new Nana, I've found knitting for babies a whole new joy. I didn't knit or crochet when my children were babies though their Grandma and Great Grandma did, so there are lots of handknits to pass down a long with the new baby things. It's always easy to roll sleeves or legs up if too long, a bit longer body makes diaper changes easier as well. Again Congratulations!!💖👶💖
So much joy! Congratulations. You will be a wonderful mom - don’t worry about that. Keep warm and healthy and happy. I’ve made two things for my friends’ babies, and the feedback I got back is that (1) the bottoms were too tight when the children were wearing diapers (oops); (2) neither baby would keep a hat on, no matter how adorable they are to make. I honestly don’t think I’ll stop making cute tiny hats, anyway.
Your baby overall is adorable! It's always better for baby garments to be bigger than smaller as they grow so fast and layering for different temperatures is important. I'm sure you'll get a chance to put it on your baby and it'll be so special for them to wear. Your feelings and doubts are normal for a new mother, maybe you can talk to some other new/experienced mothers to share your experiences. Congratulations!
Congratulations to you both, I was 39 when I had my first child and 40 when my second came along. Believe me you are never ready for it. It will all be fine and you will be a natural. All I would say is enjoy your rest now and when the baby comes sleep whenever you get the chance . 💕❤️🧶🧶happy baby knitting xx

Congratulations! I know that you have shared that you and Juki have wanted to be parents together for quite a while so I’m delighted for your happy news. Being anxious about such a big change in your life is completely normal. It is a big change! And it is both exhausting and completely wonderful at the same time. My “babies” are teenagers now so it’s a long time since I looked at baby clothes. You are right about newborns being such different sizes. For my first I anticipated a bigger baby and she was only 2.8kg. None of the clothes I had bought were small enough! So I’d say that the overall you knitted could fit 4-12 months depending on their size! Don’t forget that you will be changing nappies/diapers frequently so easy access to that area without completely undressing your baby is important, especially in the cold months. So I’d suggest buttons right down to the crotch area and even down one or both legs. I’m not sure what baby fashion is like in Finland with such cold weather so it would be good to ask your friends about how they dress their babies for easy diaper changes. Confronted again!

I knew it! You are positively glowing! Congratulations to both of you! I too used clothes to figure out patterns. It works. Don’t worry if it’s too big. They will grow into it. First babies are smallest as newborns , but they sure grow fast in the first year. It should be winter again when it fits.

I had my little one in February this year and just loved knitting little baby things for her.
You are going to be wonderful parents. Every baby is different, every mummy is individual, you will find your own way. Please don't get too worried about comparing yourselves to others.

Hi Kika, what lovely news to hear! You are going to make a great Mum because what a baby needs most is lots of love and I think you have that in spades. The jumpsuit is so cute. The buttons are perfect. You have to remember that baby and toddler woollens usually get washed more often than adult and if you put fancy or wooden buttons on, they may need to be taken off before washing (don’t ask me how I know this 😁) and that is a pain. Love, love that your little family is growing. 😊❤

Congratulations! In America, we call the baby garment you're making is called an onesie. I think that's because its pants and top together. Onesie are so very useful. Just pop baby in and go. You certainly sound like a new mom to be! Very anxious and unsure. And positive and crazy happy. Babies grow so fast, it will fit some time! Get sleep now! You won't get much for the rest of your life!

Congratulations. I wanted to mention to you a baby winter garment that I loved when my son was a baby. It is almost more like a bag with sleeves. So the feet are in one big bag. And it still opens down the front like a sweater. We had one that had holes in it for the car seat straps, that was more of a blanket bag with sleeves also. It worked well in the stroller also, as regular blankets seem to come untucked and fall off where as this stays on. I am not sure if this description is clear, but I hope so :)
