I was at the Los Angeles premiere with Ivan and Jason Reitman and when Egon showed up, all you could hear was grown men crying. It was so unexpected and emotional. Great moment.
I was crying at home.
RIP Egon Spengler/Harold Ramis. You were a True Ghostbuster.

That moment when the four OG's are standing side by side again gets me choked up every time. If I really wanted to nitpick this movie, there are definitely things I could critique about it. But I don't want to. As an epilogue to the original story, and a tribute to both Harold and Egon, it's perfect just the way it is.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife was made with a lot of love. Great reaction! I love this film and I can't wait to see what happens in the next installment.
Harold Ramis directed many and also was in many : Caddyshack - Stripes - National Lampoon's Vacation - Groundhog Day - Analyze This - Ghostbusters . And many more . He actually came from SCTV , the same comedy show that John Candy came from .
I loved the fact that they managed to let the kids be the heroes *_without_* making the adults into useless idiots, like so many movies do. The adults were reasonably smart and competent, but they were only tangentially involved in the kids' adventure - not because they were oblivious or negligent or dismissive, but because things were moving fast and there was limited time or opportunity to get them clued in to what was going on, before both of them got possessed and thus taken off the game board.
I mean, compare that to the faculty at Hogwarts, who are _at best_ utterly useless and incompetent, and at worst criminally negligent to the point of being complicit in a prolonged campaign of child abuse on multiple fronts.

And yes. I cried a lot, I completely didn't care I was in a theater I was genuinely so spaced out and locked into the movie I waited my entire life. Literally

I am so glad that you decided to watch Ghostbusters Afterlife as this movie is Ghostbusters 3, They are making a Ghostbusters 4 with the same cast as this movie Titled Ghostbusters Frozen Empire (coming in 2024)
People slate this movie as just "a remake of GB1" but it's honestly more than just another remake like Jurassic World and Star Wars episode 7. Was just a nice goodbye to Harold.
Glad to see Ernie's getting some limelight as the new leader of the Ghostbusters though as I thought he was sidelined in GB2
I’m so glad that the first time I saw this I was alone because I legit burst out crying during that end fight. 😅 They did SUCH an amazing job with this film. I didn’t expect it to be this good! I’m planning to see Frozen Empire soon, I’m pretty excited to see it. It was really fun watching all of your reactions. I really enjoy the dynamic between the three of you. 😊

@Storm Akima - The next Ghostbusters movie is called Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. It releases in March. All the cast in this one will be in the next one. Theres a trailer for the movie if you search youtube for it.
Love this film. I laughed; I cried. That young lady McKenna is going places; she was terrific!
I also loved the 2016 female-lead reboot. I found it a very fun ride, a great ensemble cast. I felt they did the franchise proud. Some may disagree, and that's their opinion. My opinion is that it was a great, fun film. I recommend it.
there was no 2016 reboot movie just abomination.... you need to get checked that thing in 2016 has no 0 right to be called movie....

What I find interesting is that in the videogame that Dan aykroyd wrote which up until this movie came out was the sequel to Ghostbusters 2 just in a videogame form they wrote it so that shandor kills gozer and he is the main villain where I like it how they have taken that from the game and changed it around again so that gozer kills shandor instead

Did you know that Ivan Reitman was a stand-in to help recreate Egon? It’s really nice as a final contributor to the franchise (helping his son in helming this piece and passing the proverbial torch) before he passed on a few months later…

The Ghostbusters from 2016 is more of an SNL parady. It has cameos, but not as original characters.
as far as I am concerned 2016 did not happen as I thought it was a terrible movie that did not pay homage to the first two Afterlife was the follow up to the story in Ghostbusters 2
