When the #LexusRC coupe came out 4 years ago, it was one of the most radically styled offerings in the segment and sales were strong initially. For 2019, the #Lexus #RC300 gets a completely new front and rear fascia to address some of the gaudy looks of the pre-refreshed model and overall, its one of the most successful restyles you can find and borrows a lot of design cues from the flagship #LexusLC coupe. Happy Friday everyone! Stay tuned for our review on the 2020 RC F Track Edition scheduled to post later this month. The regular RC 300 left us wanting in the power department but the design on the outside is easily a home run. This is still one of the most radical looking coupes on the market and we're happy to see Lexus give this car some much needed changes this year.
Couple of things. I think that it's the trim hes driving because it does come with outstanding ambient lighting that runs along the entire dash and along the doors. Lexus also offers an alternative to the touchpad, and the mouse that I see everyone complaining about. I've never seen it reviewed but I think that it works amazing! It's a dial knob with quick select buttons next to it that allow the user to seamlessly scroll through and adjust. I often think that people reviewing Lexus cars opt for the touchpad or the frumpy mouse just to have something to complain about because I think that the dial works better than even a touch screen.
Actually the rear taillights look like it's from the previous gen Lexus ES with few changes, not the IS.

@Redline Reviews would it be possible next time to overlay the BMW 330i score next to the Lexus IS300 score so we could see where they differ? Maybe an idea going forward when you have 2 vehicles with the new scoring system?
Lexus needs to refresh their interiors. And SERIOUSLY improve that god awful infotainment system.
And get rid of halogen rear turn signals.

The models with touch pads are upgradable to carplay. The ones with the joystick aren’t. So the NX, UX, LC, RC and ES have CarPlay. The RX gets it for the 2020 year and they’re adding a touchscreen interface.

He's not wrong though. A 2.0t Accord with the 10 speed would smoke this car.
Swee Shu I agree. So would a v6 Camry XSE. Ive heard that both of them are identical 0-60 and quarter mile. The accord is only 0.1-0.2 sec quicker but I’d much prefer the refined and smooth v6.
@@naveenkrishnamurthy7576 the problem with the Camry is the transmission. It's 8 speed is geared way too high 1st-3rd which hinders its 0-60. It's still a decently quick car for what it is and the V6 is a great engine, but unfortunately the transmission is geared more for economy vs performance. The 2.0t Accord is quicker off the line and to 60 due to having more gears and a quicker shifting transmission. Not to mention with the turbo you can throw a tune at it and it'd be game over for the Camry.
92ASC that’s true with a tune it’s just faster than a Camry. Is the Camry rating for 0-60 in 5.8 seconds overrating it?

There is remote start on the keyfob, if the vehicle is locked you press the lock button 3 times and on the third time you hold it for about 5 seconds or until the lights flash...
Is the remote start on all RCs or only this one.
Does my 2014 IS 350 do this? How about my 2016 RX 350? If not can you install the option from factory afterwards?

Feed The Nation - All Lexus vehicles 2016 and newer can do it so long as you have a Lexus remote app subscription, activating the remote app activates the keys as weird as that sounds. Most 2019 and newer Lexus vehicles have their key engine start work from the start without a remote app subscription needed
@@rolandostaelena I did. I also tried the no touch sensor on my RX. It seems I am either doing it wrong or I dont have it on either vehicle. That is why I asked because it wouldnt work? Since you had the time to respond do you mind calling Lexus for me and running both vins and asking them?

Currently have the exact model in Ultra White. It fits everything that I look for in a luxury vehicle, a little above Toyota and not enough to a BMW. This 300 is pretty rare with the Triple Beam LED Headlights since they commonly come with the 350 unless it's customized I've tried looking for this exact trim before purchasing mine. This car is perfect for me, doesn't have the biggest engine but the comfortability and reliability is their top priority.
I love how they FINALLY moved the DRL into the main headlight housing. Looks great
The 6 cylinder is the way to go for a very comfortable high speed cruiser. More than adequate power for 99% of your driving needs. If you are a street racer, not so much. But, >99% of the time, you are in traffic, both on the street and the freeway. I have been getting consistently up to 32 mpg at 75 mph on the fwy. Of all the cars and sports cars that I have owned, this is overall, my favorite vehicle.

Thanks for the review Sofyan! I picked up a CPO RC350 F-Sport for a bit over 30K and LOVE it! I have owned 3 BMW's, but they were expensive to maintain once the warranty was up. I'm done with them. I purchased the RC because as you said, they are show-stoppers! They look so much better in person and you don't see many of these on the road. Thanks again for your review!
Here in the Netherlands we imported only 64 of them. I bought it end of January of this year, haven't spotted another one yet.
I love that Lexus still offers a CD player.
It's also a DVD player that fills 2/3 of the screen. I just found out a couple months ago on my 2017 IS200t F-Sport & I've had the car for a year so far.
I definitely do appreciate the CD player in my Lexus. I'm somewhat of an audiophile so it's nice to listen to CD quality music through the mark levinson system from time to time.

I'm glad that you mentioned the transmission speed. You missed that in your previous GTI review (I think).
One thing you should call out is the difference between ventilated versus cooled seats. There is a massive difference and I believe that this car only has ventilation. At least the old one did.
I love'em and I want the F version. One day.
We don't get AWD here in Australia, so we get the 8 speed with the V6

Low (accurate) blow: a Civic cvt may beat you. I own a GS which I love, I have a hard time understanding how the infotainment system became an afterthought.

I noticed you were still in 'Drive" when you were shifting. If it's anything like the IS350 F-sport, you wanna push the shifter to the left if you want the most responsive shift-logic from the transmission.

Absolutely atrocious! The 330i which has like 15 more HP but at the same time like 50 more lb-ft of torque. I don't know how they can consider 7.3 seconds "performance"
This car has an i4... It's just severely underpowered for being almost 3,800 lbs.
This will get dusted by a Civic 1.5T.
putting a 2.0t in a 3700 lbs car is dumb. this engine is gonna blow before 100k miles
@japanwatchconnection I agree. I had the opportunity to drive a 428i Gran Coupe and it was pleasantly quick. No complaints in the power department. Seems like this transmission came out of the Camry and landed in the Lexus lol.

I own a '18 RC350 F Sport, and I daily drive it. It's a fantastic car, love it. Lexus underrates how fast it is, by my clock it's around 5 seconds to 60 if you put it into manual mode and ring the snot out of the throttle. All the power is on the high end. The car absolutely slays highway miles, which is the purpose of the RC. Not a sport coupe so much as a GT car, which I happen to love.
Good job Sofyan! Considering the New Supra doesn't even offer a manual... I really like the RC-F that much more :)

Actually Lexus does offer remote start. Starting on all 2019 models. It's a simple trick on the key fob. Press the lock button 3 quickly and hold the third one the lights will flash and the car will start. Sometimes you have to do it 4 times.
I gapped one of these with my stock Mk7 GTI the other day, me and the owner were both surprised because I thought he would beat me.

Jkrui Trash as in condition or value wise? If you maintain it well both car will still be new. If you’re talking about the value here’s a thought: The GTI is an icon and pioneer of hot hatch for more 30 years / The Lexus RC 300 is just a shadow of an RCF, even an RCF itself have just exist for a few years. Let that sink in ;)

I’ve had my Q60 Red sport 400 coupe for 3 years and my average fuel economy is 24.8 mpg. Mind you at 400 horsepower. Such a great engine in the Q60RS. It’s also more powerful than this on the dyno. Elegant beast. M4s are surprised how fast it is.

You red sport are trash only good for straight line they handle and drive like shit. Rather get a Lexus RCF which is all around a great car looks more mean and sound beast. The RCF is also a fully tuned car where the Q is just G37 with a turbo engine LOL
Hell i'd rather have a 350 F sport than the Q60 Red sport 400. At least I'll sleep at night knowing it won't depreciate like the Titanic and leave me stranded on the side of the road!

good review. you kinda bagged on the interior lighting of the car, but failed to mention how beautiful the door panel led lighting looks at night. i have a 2015 rc350 f sport awd and while i love its looks, even the v6 is underpowered or maybe the car is just to fat.

Remote Start is through the Lexus App. You don't have to be near the car to crank.
Basically it's their Camry engine, returned and refined. That's how Toyota does it honestly. They take the v6 from the Camry and make it into f sport. it's the same exact engine. look it up. but it's a huge difference in response.
That will be a good powertrain for the frs

Seems weird that you can get a Lexus with a 4 cylinder now. Back in the day, the only choices were a 6 cylinder (2JZ) or a V8 (any UZ version).

Fun fact that Lexus removed the door ambient lighting on the RC's for 2019 and up for whatever reason. It was subtle and such a nice feature. I have no clue why they removed it. I added it back in on my 2020 RCF. It's all plug and play minus the wiring.. you just simply tap off the ground and 12v that's in the door harness. Then when headlights come on, you have door ambient lighting.

@@Harleychromeman74 I ended up buying door panels on eBay and stripping them just to get the LED light module,. You can however just buy the light module but it's around $250 each so you're at $500 to do both sides. If you look at my profile on TH-cam I made a video of the retrofitted lights they look good!

I have 2018 stinger premium 2 L turbo and has more horsepower than this 2 liter turbo and has adaptive headlights. To be honest with you I'm an android user and this is a deal breaker for me with any car
