My older brother had a 57 all black similar to this. It had a 4 barrel and push button drive and was very fast for it’s time. He surprised my a Chevy and Ford drivers at street lights. Eventually it developed an engine problem, a cracked block, the forced him to sell to someone who was going to put in a bigger engine and drag race it. Great memories courtesy of Lou, thanks.

Three speed column shifters have somehow gotten a bad reputation, seemingly mostly from those who have never owned one. I owned several in the distant past and loved them as it freed up the floorboard. There's an apparent mania now for speed in screeching little cars. I wouldn't want the overpowered engine in this Plymouth but that's just a matter of taste. There is no substitute for a convertible. With my convertibles the favorite time for me, here in hot Texas, was to drive top-down at night, especially in the country. And this beautiful car would be perfect for that! Thanks again, and best wishes from the Houston/Galveston area.

What a treat to see that one year-only 350 B-engine under the hood! This was the precursor to the 361/383/400... In my opinion, 1958 was the pinnacle of Exner-era Chrysler styling.
Inside and out, this '58 looks fantastic! Mr. Mondoux and his nephew certainly arrived at their first Carlisle show in style. It was nice to see another "3 on the tree", too. Thanks, Lou!

Well, Lou he did it again. This is the exact same car. My father bought used when I was a teenager and the very first car. He gave me a set of keys to with strict instructions. I was never to drive it unless it was around the neighborhood and I let him know about it, if memory serves me, I always thought it was a 318 because of the way the valve covers looked. They did not look like this car and he said it was a 350 Dads never had the dual antennas on the back which I always liked as a kid, but he did have the push button transmission, which was park reverse neutral Drive and low that was the first car I seen the speedometer go a little past 120 I had never been that fast in a car before dad was somewhat of a leadfoot and being how the top was down I remember I could see the carpet kind of floating because of the air pressure good old lad was no wonder.
