8 Generator Red Light ON July 7 2015

Clip 8 includes the investigation of Generator Red light ON on a 1970 stock VW Beetle and the removal and replacing a Voltage Regulator. This is the Maintenance Series which is a continuation of the Restoration #2 which is now completed.

Things sure have changed since I was a VW mechanic from back in the early 1970's, time was I could name off many common VW parts by their 9 digit part number. I have owned quite a few years and models of them.

Ok so one of the wires (mine is blue) goes from the regulator to another relay? That is attached to the same area under the same seat. What is that called. I would like to replace it but cannot find it in parts catalog. Thanks.
