    Some infos for the guitar geeks among us:
    The guitar used here is *NOT* the famous Peter Green '59 L/P which is now owned by Kirk Hammett of Metallica.
    This guitar here,is the other original '59 L/P that Gary owned,nicknamed ''Stripe'' AKA the ''Still Got the Blues L/P'' .
    You can tell them easily apart from the pickups,the ''Greenie'' has covered humbuckers,the ''Stripe'' has uncovered PAF's.
    Check out the video of Gary & B.B. King, playing ''Thrill is Gone'' from the same concert, on that song Gary plays the ''Greenie'' .
    According to an interview with Gary's old tech on Guitarist magazine, this guitar here was re-fretted with extra big jumbo frets, because the original frets where completely worn down and also the tuners where changed to Grover locking machine heads. Pickups are still original Gibson P.A.F's and he never mentions anything about any reversed neck pickup, on the ''Stripe'', only the ''Greenie'' and some Gibson custom shop replicas of it, that Gibson made for him, did have it.
    This guitar is now owned by Gary's son,Jack Moore who is also a musician.

Then he returned his focus of attention back to the Blues, and I was floored once again. Gary was an extremely gifted and talented individual who never really received the widespread recognition he deserved. It seemed as if I'd always get a "Gary who?" reply, every time I mentioned his name, and it would piss me off to no end that more people didn't have a clue. The master of melody, improvisation, phrasing, and tone. Moore is in his element when he is free to emote. Personally, Moore is at his best when combines jazz elements and melody. That is complimented by his fiery staccato runs. It's no small wonder musicians such as Eddie Van Halen and Randy Rhoads made it a point to attend his live shows. I don't think Gary ever played a scripted note in his life!

Like when he is going to sing looking at the keybord guy to hit the note or when he make these artificial harmonics whit the pick smiling to the band like it's an inside joke. I wish one day play like he played back then.

    Gary Moore is a genius, truly gifted from a Higher Power! He exquisitely demonstrates his genius in every note, trills, riffs, in the most powerful and emotional orchestration a musician could deliver to his audience . And the best payoff for any musician is what he is feeling he communicates through his music and his audience gets the message. Make no mistake about it Gary Moore completed his mission to the world through his music! I can only say am honored to be among the honored. and to this day I have a heavy heart and miss him more than he will ever know. RIP

    Maybe Gary Moore didn't get the exposure here in the states that a lot of other guitarist received but it doesn't change the fact that he had absolutely no equal. Those of us who are fans of the guitar know and appreciate this. From his early days playing rock with Thin Lizzy to his transition into the Blues in his solo career there is no one who can hold a candle to him. What makes this even more remarkable is the fact that he was a wonderful singer as well. The world will never see another like him

    If more folks would spend their time just enjoying music than wracking their brains trying to determine who's better than who or this guys the greatest or this solo is better than that one we would all be much more content, Music is not a competition, sure some performances are more inspired than others you cant be perfect or the same each time you play a composition nor would you want to. . All musicians have their own path & offer what's inside them, Most of us that play tend not to dwell on who's better than who, we all have our favorites & don't need to box ourselves in to that dead end street. Just enjoy it as much as those who are making it. Gary was one incredible player & a favorite of mine I don't need to compare him too Jimi, or anyone else as I constantly see going on at a fevered pitch. Just listen & enjoy what you like.

      ***** I don't understand it at all, I thought it was mostly younger people or just non musicians but it seems to pervade just about everything related to you tube music sharing which is a good thing but not when that is all that seems to matter to most. I've even seen people compare someone who has been dead for 20 years to someone playing today!!! Go figure cause I cant..

    • @greekfreak1980
      @greekfreak1980  10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What's really pissing me off,excuse my greek,are some idiots who think that singer, guitarist,bassist,drummer or freaking trombone player X is ''better'' than Y ,because he/she can sing higher,play faster,knows more scales or whatever and then start endless debattes on the subject.Or worse, some other idiots,who go to a video and try to persuade the rest,how crappy this band/artist is.(You see, it's easier to talk shit, hiding behind the anonymity of the internet than getting your arse up & create something yourself). Funny thing is most accomplished professional musicians aren't thinking that way at all.To paraphrase the famous F.Zappa quote:''Shut up and try to enjoy the music!",cheers!

    • @paullevine1813
      @paullevine1813 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes that's it, & even if your just a listener you can enjoy without all the mindless bickering that goes with all this. If I hear someone I don't care for I just let it ride & wont slam them for their efforts, I just move on . Even if your not accomplished their is no need for all the inane junk I see on YT, It's a great thing to enjoy others music ,many just play for fun some are trying to get discovered, many think their s**t don't stink & are quite arrogant. I always just felt if you don't like it don't listen to it. Frank was right Shut up and play your guitar, which he did with a vengeance as does his equally gifted son. Cheers back at ya.
