5:39 I'm reasonably sure that "Five Years Dead" and "Dancing on Glass" are on "Girls, Girls, Girls", not "Theatre of Pain" (though I see that they are ranked back-to-back). Great episode, in general !
Popoff and Pardo are at it again with another (what is personally referred to as a) blender episode. An interesting mix of bands here which reminds me that there are some songs by each of these bands that have really been enjoyed when they came out and over the years. But once again, no depth of catalogue or albums to match up with Martin and Pete to attempt a personal ranking but their top choices align somewhat with those memories - particularly as to Ratt. Thank once again, gents, for these continuingly fascinating episodes. There ya go!
Great show as usual. I love the mix bag album rankings from all these genres. I hope people who don’t listen to Great White anymore go back and check them out. Great band. I actually love all the bands in this group so this was enjoyable!
They do get ragged on for the fire tragedy (even though Jack was the only original member who played at the show).... Sad. But at the same time, so many other artists have skeletons in the closet.
Cool theme today. My top 5 1 Ratt- Out of the cellar 2 Ratt- Invasion of your privacy 3 Great White- Once Bitten 4 Dokken- Under lock and key 5 Motley Crue- Shout at the devil
Great whites music has aged perfectly . Bluesy rock n roll at its best . House of Broken Love, Rock Me, Congo Square, Old Rose Motel and sooo many others . Amazing singing and lyrics by jack Russell was and some of THE BEST guitar playing you will Ever hear by Mr. Mark Kendall.
And interestingly Ratt didn't give in to the power ballad trend ( I don't recall any from Ratt come to think of it. If there was a ballad from Ratt, I certainly never heard it cause it wasn't a huge hit like Home Sweet Home or Alone Again ) What impressed me about Dokken from Breaking the Chains to Back For The Attack was how much better the band became as musicians AND songwriters. Especially Lynch. Mr Scary: Enough said! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
@@vinnykster Yes they did. Givin' yourself away, One step away, Closer to my heart, Whats it gonna be. , Almost all of their songs are about girls-love etc. i'd say its more about Pearcy not being able to pull off the huge hit ballad..
Good show Martin and Pete. Made me go and listen to that first Great White album which was called "Stick it" here in the UK . Saw them support Whitesnake at St Austell Cornwall Coliseum on March 6th 1984 and both Great White and Whitesnake were excellent.
I think Great White definitely stands the test of time. Does anyone else think that they had great musical arrangements? No one ever mentions that. House of Broken Love with that guitar open. So underrated.
Jack Russell's vocals alone put GW above Quiet Riot and Ratt. But they took a while to figure out "their" sound. Once Bitten and Twice Shy should be 1 and 1A on the list with everyone else fighting for 3rd. The debut and Shot In the Dark are hit and miss, with "Run Away" being a hidden gem to me.
Jack's got a hell of a voice! Definitely puts Great White above most bands from that scene, and Mark Kendall is a very tasty economic player with great tone and every note counts! Mark was legendary around my Huntington Beach area even before Great White broke big.
Currently for the first time I really am really considering taking a deep dive into hair Metal / 80s Glam Hard Rock. Already listened to Skid Row, Bon Jovi, Tesla but now I've been checking out Warrant and Ratt and I've been digging it. I remember listening to Cinderella, I might give them another try. Winger and Dokken are next in line.
@@independenceltd.So far for me it's 1. Tesla 2. Bon Jovi 3. Ratt 4. Warrant 5. Cinderella I doubt that the top two change because I listened to them for a couple of years, but Ratt were a positive surprise and although Warrant isn't really my thing it's so over the top that I somehow enjoy it more than I should.

Nice to see Pete displaying the Original Album Series Ratt CDs. I already have the originals, but if I didn't this is the way to get them all for 20 bucks or so.

Great show guys. I remember seeing all of the bands. Most were opening acts. My favorite band of them was Dokken. Then Ratt. Next would be Great White. I'm just disappointed great white did one metal album.
I’m not sure why people would be upset with the iron mask Dubrow figure on their album covers. It became the bands mascot: no different from Dio’s mascot Murray, Maiden’s Eddie, Elric of Melnibone on Cirith Ungol, etc.
That was the oly time I ever saw Great White. I thought they were mediocre to sub-mediocre that night, and the same thereafter when I heard their music on radio and MTV.

Motley Crue Too Fast for Love 8. Motley Crue Dr Feelgood 9. Great White Once Bitten 10. Quiet Riot Metal Health Even though it’s not in my top 10 it’s pretty close but I really like the Ratt EP a lot. You think you’re tough a kick ass song
47:22 The riff for "In My Dreams" is great but _the guitar solo_, Pete, THE SOLO! It is top-5 of all guitar solos in the 1980s. I also put "Under Lock and Key" way up in the list.
@@seaoftranquilityprogAgree about George Lynch. I also saw that you and Martin didn’t include the Ratt EP, I know it’s only an EP but 7 songs. Where would you rank this on your list?
Do Wasp have more in common with Metal Church,Venom,Ratt or Lizzy Borden lol...Idk what genre they fit most ,but they perhaps could replace QR in this...
Metal Church is American metal Lizzy Borden is American power metal Venom is British proto black/death metal WASP is American shock rock/metal Ratt is American sleeze/street/glam metal
Tooth and Nail is also my fave here. What a killer album. Also, am I the only one who thinks Crue's Too Fast for Love album sounds like Sweet? Just me or no?
I'll start off by saying, I own all of these albums: 21. Mötley Crüe - Girls, Girls, Girls (This album has one great song in Wildside and one good song in Five Years Dead. Otherwise, it's awful) 20. Quiet Riot - QR III (I love The Wild & the Young, enjoy Twilight Hotel and the Main Attraction (though very poppy) 19. RATT - Reach for the Sky (I thought the beginning of the ending started with Dancing Undercover to a varying degree. This one, though it took me forever to own is a bit better than I remembered. Really like Don't Bite the Hand that Feeds You and No Surprise. I like Martin hate Way Cool Jr. When I heard this, I probably lumped everything together with that song. I was knee deep into Thrash during this time, so there's that.) 18. Great White - ...Twice Shy (I love the Angel Song and House of Broken Love. There are some other good tunes. I hate the cover with a fucking passion) 17. Quiet Riot - Condition Critical (Love Red Alert and Bad Boy, a couple of other good songs. This band took a nosedive and a nosedive quickly). 16. Great White - Shot in the Dark (Sandwiched between their two best records in my opinion. I agree with Martin, The Angels cover is the best tune on here and Run Away is awesome) 15. Quiet Riot - QR (I used to think this album was their worst of the '80s and I've come around to it a bit) 14. Mötley Crüe - Theatre of Pain (I used to hate this album so much. Can't stand the cover but there were more than a few songs that I warmed up to. I actually really like Mick Mars guitar tone on this album. Love City Boy Blues, Louder than Hell and Tonight (We Need a Lover), and like a few other songs on this album. 13. Mötley Crüe - Dr. Feelgood (I love Dr. Feelgood and Kickstart my Heart and then the other radio songs are decent. I hate the rest of this record. I love deep cuts and I don't think this record showcases this at all. Way too slick of an album for me as well). 12. RATT - Dancing Undercover (This is where the list sort of gets a bit harder for me to rank. I used to loathe this record like Theatre of Pain but have come to appreciate it a bit more over the years. Love Dance, It Doesn't Matter, 7th Avenue and there are some other cool ones as well. Having said that, the twin guitar sound of Crosby and DeMartini started to take a hit, along with the lyrics). 11. Dokken - Breaking the Chains (I never liked the original until a couple of remasters showed up. One being the Steinhaus remaster and then the Rock Candy remaster. Love the title track, Paris, In the Middle, Stick to Your Guns and then there are a few others that are damn good). 10. Quiet Riot - Metal Health (I'm probably being a bit more kind to this then what I need to. It was a critical album regarding what my listening habits were shifting to as a 12-year-old, so based on that, I'll be kind. I hate the cover! Love Metal Health, Love's A Bitch and Danger Zone, which was added later) 09. Great White - Once Bitten (This is where it gets really tough. This one could be a few spots higher on any given day. I absolutely love Rock Me, Never Change Heart, On the Edge, and Save Your Love. I played this on cassette all of the time back in the day). 08. RATT - Invasion of Your Privacy (I absolutely love the first side of this record but find the 2nd side to just be okay. I love You're in Love, Never Use Love, Lay It Down, and Give It All!) 07. Great White - Great White (From this album on, I could say this might be #1 for me on some days. This is my favorite version of Great White. I love how heavy this fucker is. Stick It, Streetkiller, Hold On, and Nightmares are fantastic.) 06. Dokken - Under Lock & Key (This album was my favorite of Dokken's for years. It still might be on certain days. Unchain the Night, In My Dreams, Lightnin' Strikes Again, It's Not Love and Don't Lie to Me and a few other really good tracks). 05. Mötley Crüe - Too Fast for Love (Hard to believe this is only at #5. Having said that, of all the bands on this list, it's hard to talk about this band. I literally wouldn't go see this band if one gave me a free ticket to see them. Neil is embarrassing and yeah are they really even playing live?) Having said that, the first two records were beyond instrumental when it came to my early listening habits from in the early 80's. I pretty much like this album beginning to end, with Piece of Your Action and the title track being my favorites.) 04. Dokken - Tooth & Nail (Even while typing this, I questioned if this was second favorite from them. This is a fabulous album and there is no filler on this one. Favorites are Without Warning ~ Tooth and Nail, Into the Fire, When Heaven Comes Down and Don't Close Your Eyes). 03. Mötley Crüe - Shout at the Devil (Maybe should be my #1 based on the template it set for me as a 12-year-old back in 1983. It was one of the first metal albums I owned. I remember going through Circus and Hit Parader magazine and cutting out images of this band and putting them up in my locker. Love Knock 'em Dead Kid, Too Young to Fall in Love, Looks that Kill, the title track, Red Hot and the forgotten about Danger. I'm still not sure how that one has never been played live, though it's a bit too late for that). 02. Dokken - Back for the Attack (It's sort of weird to think that this one has passed up other great Dokken albums on my list. 13 songs and they're all good to great! You add the title track, which was part of the remastered edition on Rock Candy and you have a killer album of 14 tracks. Favorite tracks, the title track, So Many Tears, Kiss of Death, Standing in the Shadows, Cry of the Gypsy, Dream Warriors, and Burning Like a Flame. All killer, no filler). 01. RATT - Out of the Cellar (I love every track except one track, She Wants Money). Everything otherwise is perfect on this album. It's the perfect follow up from the very heavy E.P. This album has my favorite guitar tone of any L.A band from back in the day. This is fucking perfection!!!
Thanks for sharing. Nice list! Out of the cellar could of had 7 singles come off it! She wants money is.my least favorite! God bless all the ratt n rollers! God bless all the rattleheads! If you like it heavy, MEGADETH weighs a ton! God bless.you my friend! Jesus saves sinners!
Whereas most of these bands were breaking up, or putting out mediocre albums in the 90s, Great White seemed to amp it up and were better than ever. I love that 84 self-titled Great White, and then was disappointed until Twice Shy. HOOKED for me, is their masterpiece. Its very 70s rock sounding, even in the production, and not heavy like the debut, but its so cohesive. Its funny that Quiet Riot did a cover of Afterglow on their 2nd japan album,, and Great White also covered it on Hooked. Psycho City from 92, also pretty good, and their cover of " somebody to love" is almost better than the orig. It was a b-side from Psycho City. Let It Rock from 96, was also really strong

Is a Tie > Motley Crue- Too Fast for Love and Ratt's first EP (1983). (They both have that LA Metal/Punk sound.) 4. Dokken - Tooth and Nail 5. Quiet Riot - Metal Health 6. Dokken - Back for the Attack 7. Ratt - Invasion of your Privacy 8. Crue - Girls, Girls, Girls 9. Great White - Once Bitten 10. A Shot in the Dark Shocked how bad Critical Condition was as a follow up to a Number #1 album. Management and Record company really messed up. They could have hired a better producer and come up with a better follow-up product.
I liked that album and it has some great music. But it is way too long and if shortened up would have been awesome. Dream warriors is a good example. Good song that never ends. Rock on!
@@SirdamienfrostBack for the Attack the song was recorded during the Lock and Key sessions. Since it didn't end up on the album, and Don liked the title, he re-used it for the 1987 album.

No Stryper? To Hell With Sea of Tranqulity. 😉 Good episode guys. A reminder that I really haven’t listened to Great White anywhere near as much as these other bands and I need to remedy that.
Shout At The Devil, Out Of The Cellar and Night Songs were the only 3 hair metal albums I would consider great, unless counting Wasp,Def Leppard, WhiteSnake within that label.
Shout at the devil is fake nonsense. Typical over produced crue using image for a hit. Those guys are crappy frauds. Dokken is by far the most talented group here. Rock on!
Dokken is definitely the best of the bunch here. I quite enjoy QR 3 actually my favorite one from them. And those first couple Great White albums are highly underrated. Ratt rules too just put Crue at the bottom and do what you will after that lol
I remember when you did your ranking of the Ratt albums pete. I was wondering, didyour opinion of them become a bit more favorable since that video? I remember you came out at the beginning of that video talking about how much some of your viewers were begging for that ranking. It was almost like you did not care to do the ranking. I could have got the wrong impression. Haha you really do not have to explain youraelf if you do not want to. I just noticed you had a lot of good things to say about them.i agree with you personally, I think their best albums, along with Dokken's best are the best of these bands. Those bands had two of my favorite guitar players. Even Robin Crosby on those early Ratt albums was great before he got hooked on the H.
More of a case of I hadn't listened to Ratt in a number of years prior to that, but since I've realized how much I actually enjoy their music. Same here with Great White.
God bless all the ratt n rollers! Love ratt! Out of the cellar should of had 7 singles come off it! Thanks for sharing and asking Pete about RATT. Ratt n roll. Jesus saves sinners

Not a huge fan of that blues rock style of Great White. I love the debut, but the rest I find a bit boring
@@ericrobertson2024 As far as the Judas Priest song goes there's only a small part that's barely similar. But the whole riff is way diffetent. The Ratt Ep Tell the World does sound more similar. Remember Juan was in Dokken and Young Girls was recorded in 1981 releaesed same year 1981 in Europe, 1982 UK, and US remix release 1983 The Ratt Ep was recorded in 1983 after Juan left Dokken and was released August 1983. Though it was a few months before US release of B.T.C. it was recorded a couple years after original recording and release of Young Girls. Its possible Juan suggested the riff even though Lynch , Don Dokken have writing credits for Young Girls and Crosby snd Pearcy have writing credits for Tell the World. It's less of an offense if ypu were in the band of the original version IMO. But the Motley one is an obvious copy. It's just too exact. I've heard Nikki mentioned before that this has happened a few times , thinking that he came up with something musically when wrting, but it turned out he got it from somewhere else. At least that's how he tells it.
Ratt - Out of the Cellar Dokken - Back For the Attack Dokken - Tooth and Nail Motley Crue - Shout at the Devil Great White - Once Bitten Motley Crue - Motley Crue Dokken - Under Lock and Key Great White - Twice shy
Outside of the "perfect" album,( aka Hair Metal/Glam bands of the sunset strip) - Under Lock & Key by Dokken....GreatWhite's Once Bitten👌. A close third: Shout @ The Devil; albeit still with their dark/punkish groove. Didn't pay much attention to Ratt after the Invasion of Your Privacy album. Or Crue after the first 2 releases. Of course;there's NOTHING "thin" about Back For The Attack,Martin!
I think Great White is criminally underrated. Love the vocals and guitar tone. And, alittle surprised Pete had Too Fast for love so low. I knew he wasnt a fan, but wow. Lol. Great show again, guys. Always look forward to friday at the funhouse !
-Dang! Dokken ULAK made it to the mid-7s? I would have rated it higher. [thanks Peter]. Loved it! -Yes! I loved Motley Too Fast For Love's Punk edge! -Great White never hit my radar. -Saw the Ratt/Poison Tour. Hated it also. Their mix was awful! -Dokken BFTA George Lynch unleashed! -Ratt "Cellar" and Invasion are my favorite Ratt albums.
God.bless all the ratt n rollers!Out of the cellar could of had 7 singles come off it. Mix for ratt in 1987 live was bad! Juans background vocals were to high! God bless you fellow rocker! Jesus saves sinners!
Great show guys tough to rank some of these & some definitely didn't age well at all (QR ) Out of The Cellar Shout At The Devil Tooth And Nail ( definitely agree w Martin production by Tom Werman sucked) Under Lock & Key Too Fast For Love Back For The Attack Invasion Of Your Privacy Dancing Undercover Once Bitten Shot In The Dark GW - GW
George Lynch is a monster on the second to fourth Dokken albums. Unfortunately, he just follows trends, and I question his authenticity. Remember Lynch Mob's "Smoke this"? 😂
For my tastes, GREAT WHITE ranks higher than ALL of these bands, and “…Twice Shy” was the right record at the right time (for a hair metal fan like myself about to graduate from high school). I was never a straight up blues fan, but Great White’s ‘House Of Broken Love’, ‘Rock Me’, ‘Move It’ et al. had enough blues, licks without sounding dated (or what I would have considered “old man rock” at the time). They still made good records well into the 90s too. SUCH a shame to see how the band eventually split from Jack and what became of his awesome talent.
“Wasted Rock Ranger” from Great White is one of the BEST b-sides ever! Check it out if you’ve never heard it 😂
Ohhhh god no! The only Great White song I cannot stand haha! (And entirely because every a**hole jock and redneck growing up in my hometown loved it).
You should bring back Vinyl reviews! I miss those!
God bless all the ratt n rollers! Jesus saves sinners!
Great to see u Jason, u should do a collab with Pete someday. Huge fan of both your channels!
Wasted Rock Ranger is my favorite song by Great White.
5:39 I'm reasonably sure that "Five Years Dead" and "Dancing on Glass" are on "Girls, Girls, Girls", not "Theatre of Pain" (though I see that they are ranked back-to-back). Great episode, in general !
thought the same thing
Yep...Glass is one of the 30 Crue songs I liked, only one on that album though.
I never liked that over produced nonsense of girls album. Bob rock is a clown producer that killed music.
God bless all the ratt n rollers! Jesus saves sinners!
@@CrazyCooter-ld6sz i didnt like it either but Tom Weman produced girls , girls girls not bob rock.
God bless all the ratt n rollers! Jesus saves sinners!
Nice job guys, love my 80s glam metal, you're in my wheelhouse 🤘🏻
Great show as usual. I love the mix bag album rankings from all these genres. I hope people who don’t listen to Great White anymore go back and check them out. Great band. I actually love all the bands in this group so this was enjoyable!
They do get ragged on for the fire tragedy (even though Jack was the only original member who played at the show).... Sad. But at the same time, so many other artists have skeletons in the closet.
God bless you fellow rocker! Jesus saves sinners! God bless all the ratt n rollers
Cool theme today. My top 5
1 Ratt- Out of the cellar
2 Ratt- Invasion of your privacy
3 Great White- Once Bitten
4 Dokken- Under lock and key
5 Motley Crue- Shout at the devil
God bless all the ratt n rollers! Jesus saves sinners!
Enjoyed this. Perfect way to kick off summer.
God bless all the ratt n rollers! Jesus saves sinners!
Great whites music has aged perfectly . Bluesy rock n roll at its best . House of Broken Love, Rock Me, Congo Square, Old Rose Motel and sooo many others . Amazing singing and lyrics by jack Russell was and some of THE BEST guitar playing you will
Ever hear by Mr. Mark Kendall.
Dokken and Ratt had the best overall well rounded sound. Guitars, bass, drums and vocals. It mostly all came together so good.
And interestingly Ratt didn't give in to the power ballad trend ( I don't recall any from Ratt come to think of it. If there was a ballad from Ratt, I certainly never heard it cause it wasn't a huge hit like Home Sweet Home or Alone Again )
What impressed me about Dokken from Breaking the Chains to Back For The Attack was how much better the band became as musicians AND songwriters. Especially Lynch. Mr Scary: Enough said! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
@@vinnykster Agreed, and I'm pretty sure RATT never broke out a piano. 😆🤣
1. Cinderella
2. Tesla
3. Skid Row
4. Ratt
5. Dokken
6. Winger
7. Bon Jovi
8. Warrant
@@independenceltd.So far for me it's
1. Tesla
2. Bon Jovi
3. Ratt
4. Warrant
5. Cinderella
I doubt that the top two change because I listened to them for a couple of years, but Ratt were a positive surprise and although Warrant isn't really my thing it's so over the top that I somehow enjoy it more than I should.
Dokken will not disappoint!!
Go for it!
God bless all the ratt n rollers! Jesus saves sinners! Ratt out of the cellar could of had 7 singles come off of it!
I've only heard one album of this bunch but the Martin & Pete duo is always a must watch👍👏

4. Great White
5. Tooth and Nail
6. Metal Health

Seen great white in 1997 at a small club in Bay City Mi. That held about 500 to 700 people they were fantastic Jack Russell was an amazing vocalist and I really like Great white
Too Fast for Love is always Top 5 for me regardless of the other choices 🤘
Nice to see Pete displaying the Original Album Series Ratt CDs. I already have the originals, but if I didn't this is the way to get them all for 20 bucks or so.
Yeah, I have the Dokken and Cinderella sets too..I wish that Great White had one.

Great show as usual gents.
I’m not sure why people would be upset with the iron mask Dubrow figure on their album covers. It became the bands mascot: no different from Dio’s mascot Murray, Maiden’s Eddie, Elric of Melnibone on Cirith Ungol, etc.

I saw Great White open for Judas Priest in 1984 for GW’s debut album and Priest’s Defenders Tour. That’s probably the same tour.

God bless all the ratt n rollers! Dokken and crue sound good. Jesus saves sinners
I can totally hear that
The extended version of Face the Day by Great White is so awesome.
I'll start off by saying, I own all of these albums:
21. Mötley Crüe - Girls, Girls, Girls (This album has one great song in Wildside and one good song in Five Years Dead. Otherwise, it's awful)
20. Quiet Riot - QR III (I love The Wild & the Young, enjoy Twilight Hotel and the Main Attraction (though very poppy)
19. I was knee deep into Thrash during this time, so there's that.)
18. Great White - ...Twice Shy (I love the Angel Song and House of Broken Love. There are some other good tunes. I hate the cover with a fucking passion)
17. Quiet Riot - Condition Critical (Love Red Alert and Bad Boy, a couple of other good songs. This band took a nosedive and a nosedive quickly).
16. Great White - Shot in the Dark (Sandwiched between their two best records in my opinion. I agree with Martin, The Angels cover is the best tune on here and Run Away is awesome)
15. Quiet Riot - QR (I used to think this album was their worst of the '80s and I've come around to it a bit)
Love Metal Health, Love's A Bitch and Danger Zone, which was added later)
I love You're in Love, Never Use Love, Lay It Down, and Give It All!)
07. Great White - Great White (From this album on, I could say this might be #1 for me on some days. This is my favorite version of Great White. I love how heavy this fucker is. Stick It, Streetkiller, Hold On, and Nightmares are fantastic.)
I pretty much like this album beginning to end, with Piece of Your Action and the title track being my favorites.)

Invasion of Your Privacy is such a good album.
The first 3 songs are awesome...I think the 1999 album was their sole weak album.
I was today years old when I learned that Great white had two albums that went platinum! Wow. Unfortunately, they’ll always be associated with the Station nightclub fire. Rest in peace to the victims.

1. Ratt - Out of the Cellar
2. Ratt - Dancing Undercover (this record reminds me of what it must've been like bar hopping through the L.A. club scene in the 80's)
3. Is a Tie > Motley Crue- Too Fast for Love and Ratt's first EP (1983). (They both have that LA Metal/Punk sound.)
4. Dokken - Tooth and Nail
5. Quiet Riot - Metal Health
6. Dokken - Back for the Attack
7. Ratt - Invasion of your Privacy
8. Crue - Girls, Girls, Girls
9. Great White - Once Bitten
10. A Shot in the Dark
Shocked how bad Critical Condition was as a follow up to a Number #1 album. Management and Record company really messed up. They could have hired a better producer and come up with a better follow-up product.
Wow, Back For The Attack was a single LP with 63 minutes. Didn’t know you could fit that much music on two vinyl sides. Must have been very quiet.
I liked that album and it has some great music. But it is way too long and if shortened up would have been awesome. Dream warriors is a good example. Good song that never ends. Rock on!
And there is the version with a bonus track titled "Back for the attack". Odd choice to drop the track the album is titled for.
@@SirdamienfrostBack for the Attack the song was recorded during the Lock and Key sessions. Since it didn't end up on the album, and Don liked the title, he re-used it for the 1987 album.
To me BFTA has a way better guitar sound than all of the Dokken albums before it BUT ULAK has better material.
Ratt EP from 83 was amazing, I think.
God bless all the ratt n rollers! Jesus saves sinners!
TFFL is the best hair metal record by miles.
1) Ratt-Out Of The Cellar 2) Quiet Riot-Metal Health 3)Motley Crue-Shout At The Devil 4)Dokken-Under Lock And Key 5)Great White-Shot In The Dark. If you have these five you've got what LA metal at its height was all about. Add 6)Ratt's Timecoast EP, 7)Motley Crue-Too Fast For Love, 8)Dokken-Tooth And Nail, 9)Great White ST, and 10)QR-Condition Critical and you've pretty much got all you need. Add Invasion Of Your Privacy, Back For The Attack, Once Bitten, and QRIII for extra credit.
The funhouse !!
No Stryper? To Hell With Sea of Tranqulity. 😉 Good episode guys. A reminder that I really haven’t listened to Great White anywhere near as much as these other bands and I need to remedy that.
Great white IMO was way better than all these other great bands
Great singing and guitar work!
To me Jack Russell sounds like Robert Plant singing through Vince Neil.
Rock on!
@@CrazyCooter-ld6sznearly as reliant on MTV as Duran Duran was. Crue are Detestable creeps, lowest common denominator stuff.
God bless all the ratt n rollers! Jesus saves sinners!
My top 5 : 1) Motley Crue - Shout at the devil 2) Motley Crue -Too fast for love 3) Dokken - Back for the Attack 4)Dokken - Under lock and key 5) Ratt - Dancing Undercover Bottom 3 : 19) Motley Crue - Theatre of Pain 20) Great White - Twice Shy 21) Great White - Once Bitten. Not a huge fan of that blues rock style of Great White. I love the debut, but the rest I find a bit boring
I only have four albums and one comp out of all five bands. Only three of them, in fact.
The riff from Looks That Kill is actually a rip-off of Dokken's Young Girls off Breaking the Chains which came out a year before.
Tell The World (Ratt) and You Don't Have To Be Old by Judas Priest have similar riffs as well.
@@ericrobertson2024
As far as the Judas Priest song goes there's only a small part that's barely similar.
@@awesomebeard1973 I actually like Tell The World better than the other songs.
@@ericrobertson2024 that's cool.
I like Looks That Kill better than Young Girls
Ratt - Out of the Cellar
Dokken - Back For the Attack
Dokken - Tooth and Nail
Motley Crue - Shout at the Devil
Great White - Once Bitten
Motley Crue - Motley Crue
Dokken - Under Lock and Key
Great White - Twice shy
Outside of the "perfect" album,( aka Hair Metal/Glam bands of the sunset strip) - Under Lock & Key by Dokken....GreatWhite's Once Bitten👌. A close third: Shout @ The Devil; albeit still with their dark/punkish groove. Didn't pay much attention to Ratt after the Invasion of Your Privacy album. Or Crue after the first 2 releases. Of course;there's NOTHING "thin" about Back For The Attack,Martin!
God bless all the ratt n rollers! Jesus saves sinners
I think Great White is criminally underrated. Love the vocals and guitar tone. And, alittle surprised Pete had Too Fast for love so low. I knew he wasnt a fan, but wow. Lol. Great show again, guys. Always look forward to friday at the funhouse !
I don't mind that album at all...but I like all the other ones above it more.
I'm surprised you guys didn't also include WASP in this ranking. Maybe they weren't as commercial as these bands?
Is there a good live performance of Breaking The Chains on TH-cam ?? I've always thought that little riff was the best thing they did.
Great White is great , such an underrated band.
Didn't they start a fire that killed a bunch of people?
Wasn't that "Jack Russell's Great White", not Great White?
Yes. Read the book “Killer Show” about the fire. You will hate Jack Russel after reading it.
@@jcollins1305which is ridiculous considering he wasn’t to blame.
Should LA Guns be included with this group of bands?
What does OTT mean?

Thanks a lot.

Over all best catalog
1 great white
2 ratt
Then the rest.
The best Great White album is their Led Zeppelin tribute album. Absolutely awesome!!!!
I love tooth and nail great album
FIve Years Dead my favorite.....on Girls Girls GIrls.
That's why dokken is fantastic not really any filler songs
