I had to listen to this as Im an Orc player at heart. I agree with your comments about the general and heros. Take plenty of heros so you dont need to rely on the general. Gerroff is an excellent spell and Waagh is also good. You did however forget that one reason to take Black Orcs over the cheaper Ogres is because Ogres are not greenskins and cant get Waaagh cast on them. I find that wolf riders are best in a brigade of 3 units. Their defensive fire makes them an excellent defensive cavalry to slow down an enemy flank. And I personally deploy my Goblin brigades behind the Orc frontline. There they can defend the frontline infantry from sneaky flyers or reinforce the frontline if need be. I personally take 2 or 0 giants. They are always a lot of fun when they go off on their own adventures... One time they both charged off and killed half an army before I got them under control. Another time they fought eachother... I really enjoyed listening to your view of the army.
Loving these faction guides, got into warmaster 2 weeks ago and managed to get lucky on a 3000 pt orc army which I'm currently touching the paint work up, I know I will be bringing warmaster Revolution to my local club so I hope the community keeps expanding.
Listening to many of your faction focus videos every now and then - such great general overviews for each faction! I wish I could like your videos more than once. :D
I played with them last week and the half move if you fail the first order greatly benefitted the Troll units! As even in dense terrain (a -2 command penalty) they got to move 10cm per turn. As a goblin shaman was the commander this was a major bonus :-) The initiative charge into the Chaos hounds that eventually took out 2 units won the game!
Yes trolls really benefit in revolution from the failed order half pace move. In original warmaster they tended to go into dense terrain and never come out!
I just wanted to say thanks so much for sharing all your faction focus videos. They are fantastic. You seem to be at least fairly knowledgeable about what a competitive warmaster meta might look like. Would you consider doing a video where you talk about maybe a tier list, or your hot takes on which would be the better armies and why?
Glad you like them. That is an interesting idea. Although I do think player experience is more important than army list choice. Even goblins can be competitive!

Both orcs and goblins in early editions are more human-sized. Orc leaders and nobs grow into hulking shapes but the average orc bloke in a regiment does not. Goblins and grots are not diminutive, unlike now when they have slid more into the role snotlings used to have. While snotlings are so diminutive you might as well treat them as swarm models.
Serious question regarding Ogres.....are ghouls/zombies humans? Zombies should still smell like humans (ogres don't mind meat thats a little off) and ghouls are just humans from Florida.

I don't see any stereotypes portrayed, maybe they are a bit Asian looking but mostly due to the Mongol hats than anything else (pygmies were definitely based on outdated visual stereotypes of the African tribesmen, but for those years they were more on the safe side of this kind of depiction considering that they had no moral nor ethnic judgment embedded in them, I remember shows and commercials that were way more racist than those miniatures. And apart from them, I don't see any other explicit racial negative stereotypes in models from that age and forward, on the contrary I believe gw has been ahead of its time with female and LGBT depictions)
@@manticora94 Yeah, the issue is that they resemble kind of negative views on certain asian peoples. With the way the orks are in warhammer (uncivilized, stupid and an unconditional thread to civilisation) it's better to avoid associating them with specific peoples. Thus a "menace from the east" kind of thing is implied. Overall it reminds me a bit of that anti-japanes Donald Duck Propaganda. But yeah it's more Low key and subtext heavy.
