    Great music arrangements, VERY TALENTED musicians AND some great history too. So glad the Goodman Quartet was honored with this great tribute...Well done and thank you...

    Yeah, Goodman did say that to John Hammond. What you're leaving out is white and blacks has their own separate unions, ballrooms, etc. Integration was just not done in 1933. BG did break the barrier down in 1935-56 though, with the hiring of Teddy Wilson and Lionel Hampton. Fletcher Henderson had been writing for the band since late 1934, soon to be followed by Jimmy Mundy and others. If you're going to include the details, include them all.

    The sound mixing balance between the vibraphone and the clarinet didn't sound like Benny's original players when playing forte together, the over amplified clarinet drowning the vibraphone making it barely audible, then clarinet and piano and drums often too loud when soloing. Having listened carefully to my own original large LP Collection of the original Benny Goodman bands, and still a clarinet player myself, aged 75

      The memory of Benny Goodman was there since he passed away in 1986. 🎵🎼🎶
