It doesn't matter for the ID because in case of the ID it's our Sinner who displaces that person in that Mirror World, not the other way around. In a world with Ishmael as Wuthering Heights Mistress, there never was Catherine in the first place.

I'm just wondering: If only two (or five if countings Dante's) golden boughs can erase a person from the multiverse, how is anyone safe? Like, what if a Don Quixote had a sadness arc in another universe and decided with the means to end all versions of himself. Is our Don just screwed? For every other Limbus Company that went to the mansion to collect Healthcliff's golden bough, would they just get a different version of the Canto where the Erkliff ID is just there to hunt down all Hindley's?
I think it is somewhat similar to jojo part 7: just like the parts of the holy corpse, golden boughs exist in one universe

The golden boughs were created, and if the multiverse is decision-based as it seems to be, then any universe that creates where it is possible to create a golden bough is certain to do so, and even Dante's reality is infinitely branching into different realities which would have the same golden boughs as it did before those branches occurred. If anything, if it is even possible for circumstances to reach a multiversal erasure, then it is absolutely guaranteed to occur as ever decision that would prevent it would branch into a decision which comes closer to bringing it about. We already have that one lady who wants to destroy the mirror worlds, and considering the resources available it is impossible that there isn't a version of her that won't succeed unless a similar multiversal erasure happens to her first, and for that to also happen to everyone else for whom even a single possibility of erasing the universe can happen. This is why I don't like multiverses.

Like, only in this chapter they were somehow used to do something (like slowing time or literally erasing someone in (cost?) of golden bough)

Even if they aren't ever used for this purpose again, they *can* be, and according to the multiverse as presented, well, I already explained it. If those things *don't* happen then that is a plot hole, plain and simple. I was holding out hope that the possibilities of the Mirror Worlds were only possibilities, but this Canto has pretty well settled the matter.
I think that only and only Dante can just, you know, clear all *insert name here*. Cathy wasn't able to just delete herself - she was going to go Erlking route and start killing every version of herself by her own hand. It's Dante and his magical iPad who could just delete her. So, I don't think this is a plothole.
