I'm sure you understand this stuff better than me because some choices seem bizarre but of course you're practically an expert at this, though I'm still curious.
that was the plan, this was more of a routing clear to be honest, but you cant do enough damage(900~) to erlking without ego, and if you corrode before phase 5 you end up going after erlking and dying, so your only option is to be corroded on phase 5 which is a headache

Heathcliff is scripted to not die at combat start from that attack, kind of like Ishmael in Canto V. However, as you might know, in V if Ish was alone and everyone else died she loses her immunity. In this case the same thing happened. Because Heathcliff got to 0 HPs from Every Heathcliff Has To Die the game couldn’t give him the immunity.
I feel like this would be slightly less anxiety inducing if you used base gregor's passive (it's similar to g corp greg's but activates with gloom instead and is a guaranteed +5)
Phase 5 outright kills heath when solo, or is it because you weren't above 13hp? On normal play my whole team died during that phase, but Cliff managed to solo it thanks to AEDD passive. Maybe you could luck into that corrosion for more HP?

on paper lcb heathcliff will always fall short of the required dmg to kill during phase 5 without corrosion
Godsuncliff can basically one turn kill heathcliff on the final phase but will need a good amount of sinking stack and luck

It’s because it’s a solo, you need at least another one alive or to be at 100% HP.
