The pros of living in Jamaica is high in comparison with living in a country like the USA where your mental health & physical health can deteriorate very quickly because of the bad GMO cancer causing foods and extreme stress. Regardless of the crime that’s in 🇯🇲, Jamaica is a better place for me to live as it relates to my mental health. Essentially, once a person has money, love and nature Jamaica is heaven on earth to live at because as a black person no racist police will kill or lock you up because of your race.

The British brought white people as slaves first mainly Irish. They were "Indentured slaves" They couldn't stand the heat and some died. The British then turn to Africa for slaves.
Some people totally disregarded that whites were the first British slaves.
After the marroons signed the treaty they then enslaved other Africans and snitched on others to the British.

I loved her whole personality, soft voice, looks and truth be told, there is an air of ancestral royalty in her demeanor!! It is a shame that the Maroon culture is dying in some of those villages. I remember this young lady was in the news about a year ago when she challenged that cornell who has been ruling for over three decades but not for the interest of his people. The question is, why would the military show up at a peaceful community to intimidate the voters? This is wrong on so many levels. I do wish you find the time to visit the maroons of Accompong, St Elizabeth. Cheif Currie was elected a few years ago and has been getting the fight of his life. However, he is steadfastly holding on leading and preserving the Maroon culture.

      @@jlau979Nanny was around slavery time
Slavery ended 1834. Nanny was already deceased. She one of Jamaica's national Heroes and the first black woman to get free land from the British.
She had no children but had 4 brothers who were leaders in each of the acompong they lived in. Nanny and her brothers were a thorn in the British side.

Redware people were the original inhabitants of Jamaica, who were phenotypically akin to that of the Melanesians. Just like the Olmecs in Mexico & Luzia in Brazil.
Tainos came much later from present day Colombia & were more Mongoloid in appearence, akin to that of the inuit in Alaska.
Taino's gave us Bammy along with Jerk & words such as hammock, canoe, tobacco & hurricane.
Despite the Taino sharing most of there lineage with the Amazonians, Jamaican Tainos were more cultrally & linguistically closer to that of the Mayans & even traded with them, which is why many Mayan relics are found all over the Island.
Miskito people from the mainland of Central America were brought by the British forces, as bounty hunters & mostly settled in St Elizabeth.
Robert Henry Clarence was A Miskito King that was Born & bred in Kingston.
Prisoners of the Wampanoag Nation, who served under King Philip, were placed in every corner of the Island by the British & were forced to work on the plantations as punishment.
Many Hopi Natives from the U.S are also found in Jamaica, as many of them view Bob Marley as a deity & the Island as the Promised Land.Hopi people started coming during the late 70s or 80s.

There's the same opportunity in Jamaica as in (let's say) the US. I find Jamaicans have this false narrative that going abroad equals success. Being in "foreign" is a status symbol. Which is so dumb.
It's great to travel though and experience other cultures.
