But as far as a "better" or more "apt" replacement for Steve.... I would add that Deep Purple, themselves chose Steve. They could have picked just about anyone; but they wanted Steve for who he is. Not only as a virtuoso on guitar, but I mean the man has practically written 19 albums (not counting what he has written with Kansas and Deep Purple). He also does things that a keyboardist does and a guitar shouldn't be able to do . And he is the man who put the one-note per string (alternate picking) on the map. He plays Classical and has a wide range of style incorporation. I believe that Deep Purple knows better than anyone else who would fit in the band. And Steve was their pick after Richie; and that alone says something. Of course, Simon is doing a superb job and will keep Purple going . Just my perspective. :)
I think Steve was a horrible replacement for Ritchie. My guess is they chose Steve in part to spite Ritchie. LOL backing bad? , Don was hand picked by Jon Lord, and Simon was hand picked by Steve Morse, while he cares for his wife!... the chemistry of the current 5 of Morse, Glover, Gillan, Airey and Paice is unmatched and is the longest incarnation of all Deep Purple line ups. I think you might appreciate the live version, so if it's ok, I will leave it here: th-cam.com/video/wFw9eYy-v3I/w-d-xo.html take care!

I think you might be right
... aaaahhh! ... wonderful goose-pimps on my skin when guitar blends in !! ... CHEERS !!🍺🍺🍺🎸🎸🎸... GREAT legendary song!
Love that man 🎸 respect, one of the best Purple duelling, genius
I just can't stop watching this clip, awesome guitar 🎸🎸
Excellent performance of the guitarist, SUPER, I did not know him, not to mention Don Airey on keyboards, Glover, Paice and Gillan is the old lineup .
Deep Purple
Deep Purple !!!! Forever our beloved legend !! I hope you will perform with us for a long time to come! I heard you were in Istanbul, beautiful! I am grateful to you even for the strumming of guitars, you are the best of the best! I wish the whole band a lot of health and concerts. With love, Zdenek 🙏👌👌👌👌♥️♥️🇸🇰🇸🇰
I've been a Deep Purple fan since 1970. This is the first time I've heard of Simone McBride. He's the best fit for the band since Richie's heyday. Steve is good but his style just does work with these guys. Just my opinion.
I'm like you 1970 this band changed my music direction and I was 15 at the time
totally agree
He´s insane! And the band is enjoying it. Sometimes you just need some change/freshness.
Same happened with the band with Don.
Agreed!
I completely agree. I've been a fan since '72...Morse is a great player, but in my opinion too 'flash' for Purple...! Simon has just right sound...! 👍
Great rendition ! ♦️
I could listen to this guy all day !
always loved this song and that is a pretty good rendition !
Was just at their concert in Lörrach. Germany, great. He plays Engl, is German, and PRS Guitar, USA, great
Brilliant! Keep Simon!!!
Superb Creative Guitar Mind, absolutely brilliance in his style !
I'm not familiar with Simon McBride's new backing band but, damn, they're good. I predict a big career ahead of them.
Hush!
I do like Simon as a fill in though
Love the sound of Hammond Organ!
Simon is a great replacement. I understand some people don't see Steve Morse as a good fit in Deep Purple, but you really need to listen to their recent catalog of original music. The band has been having a great time writing new music together...I hope they can continue when Steve's wife gets a clean bill of health. Best wishes to the family!
Steve Morse is a true innovator in his own right. He never was or will be a Ritchie impersonator. Love Morse era Purple. Seems like the stubborn fans who want Ritchie, have the same temperament as Ritchie. I still listen to early Purple. I also have all the Morse albums as well.
@@fredandpattychandler4130 I haven't heard every original album from the 2000s yet, but I will eventually. Like them all, especially WHA?, INFINITE and PURPENDICULAR. Need to listen to SM Band, love Dregs as well!
20 years and finally a guitarist for the band 🎸🎸🎸
Simply great! 👍👍👍💪💪💪🔥🔥🔥

Guitar sound like blackmore....amazing guitar player..bravo
Maravilloso!!!! Muchas gracias, Pavel!!!!
June July 2022 Encino California Dominique I'll be looking for you
Unfortunatly we don't hear loud enouph Ian Gillan when he sing here but what a great job on one of the best song from DP , thanx to publish here , i love Deep for 50 years
Gillan, Glover, Paice. 3 of 5 from the definitive lineup. Airey a phenomenal keyboard player continuing on from Jon. And now with Simon , I think this sounds like the Purple we all know and love. Simply awesome.
This is the gitarist from The Don Airey and Friends band, isn't it??
I to uživo !!!

Super
Dedicated passionated skilled thnx Simon
Phenomenal guitar player ...
I never understood Steve Morse in Deep Purple... But this guy... whoever he is... is actually playing the RIFFS! Obviously with a real appreciation for Richie Blackmore... Yea! Damn! It's good to hear! Been way to long... Steve Morse sounds better doing his own thing... which is awesome too.
American are in different altitude.you cannot get the enrgy from them.specially in Rock Metal and rock'nroll.but in Blues it is different.
Yes, I agree with you. At Steve Morse, the guitar is always squeaking and howling; he doesn't can the handwork of playing guitar and he never had any feeling of hard rock, rhytmn and blues. It were lost years for Gillan, Paice and Glover ... and for Lord.
I disagree. Steve Morse is at the right place there!
@@haegar1402 deep purple is too big for him, evenSatriani found out that he cannot compete with Ritchie.being creative is important, since he joint the band they make boring songs.for him is the right place ,but when you see Depp purple with Ritchie then you will miss the best influence of Rock music.
You articulated my thoughts perfectly!
Happy for Deep Purple that they found the right guy. Morse is a great player but never quite hit the mark… for what he was brought into the band for. Simon is a monster guitar player and closer to Blackmore’s legacy than anyone IMHO. I hope he doesn’t get buried in this role, Gillan’s vocals won’t last forever and HE cannot be replaced. Simon is a great songwriter and no overnight success. I wish him and the band the best of fortunes. I’m actually now tempted to go and see them now.
Near '80s and still Rocking... What a band....
Well done lads, well done Simon 👍🏻 Deep Purple, always 🙏🏻
i am fan of dee purple always.songs beatiful
I am so jealous of the people who get to see this tour with Simon sitting in on guitar! What a treat!
I was going to say! What happened to Steve Morse? I was not expecting to see this dude on guitar.
Brilliant player I might add.
cheers
@@markusaurelius777 from what I've heard Steve is at home taking care of his sick wife 😓

The guitarist is Simon Mcbride, his new album is amazing, buy it you won’t be disappointed
Fantastic album it is,hopefully tourin' way Purple Simon will get alot a new fans
FINALLY, someone worthy of trying to fill Blackmore's shoes! This is so refreshing and encouraging to hear. Totally different band now!!!!
Yes but a little bit slower
