Makes me feel so old realising that Tony is even old enough to be a Grampa ! I hope he is doing well, loved the band so much back in the day and still do. Inward Revolution was and is a fabulous album

Did you meet the band and if so what were they like? This is a great TOTP performance. Who else was on the show that day?

    • @MaxandFredsmum

@@eightiesmusic1984 I didn't meet the band. Not many other big bands on that day apart from The Colour Field with Terry Hall who sadly died recently. It was all very fast moving. Was a long time ago as well.

One of my all time favorites. Still got the 7" vinyl of it. Was 16 at the time riding my vespa to every all nighter in the midlands and back then this song was the soul of the 80s. BSA should have been far bigger.

Was lucky enough to see them in Swansea Uni when I was a student....was about 3' from the front! Back in those days there was hardly any security, no H&S, and tickets were affordable 🙂 Miss those days....

I was 15 in 1985 when it was released and marvelled at how good the song is and still think the same. Julie Hadwen had a great voice and it is a shame BSA did not enjoy more success. The album it is from has some good tracks too and extensive liner notes in the re-release explain the history of the band. One of the best of the eighties no doubt. I am 52 tomorrow and this seems like yesterday.

This was such an amazing few months for music. See if you can track down Hits 2 compilation, which features this timeless Northern Soul-esque stomper. Other amazing songs from this period (early 1985) include Since Yesterday by Strawberry Switchblade, Loverboy by Billy Ocean, Let It All Blow by the Dazz Band, Close (To The Edge) by the Art of Noise, You Spin Me Round by Dead or Alive, and Kiss Me by Stephen Tin Tin Duffy. What an amazing number of classics to be in the charts all at the same time!

Good point. Dexys are magnificent. The Proclaimers and Dexys are similar in sound in some of their songs. Kevin Rowland helped them launch their career.
