    Almost made it to 100 years… all about shareholders and never integrity. Very sad day to see the oldest operating airline get sold out quite literally…

    I loved it when he said “for now”. How about later? It is not going to stay separate for long. I am guessing.

    As long as they keep the brand, I’ll be happy. Hope HAL callsign stays for ATC as well and pilots and flight attendants and other employees can keep their jobs in Hawai’i.

      Keep the brand yes, the call sign no. It will be under one certificate so one call sign.
      Pilots, Flight Attendants, Customer Service Agents, Ramp, and Mechanics are all union so they will all keep their jobs. 👍🏼

    Finally we'll get some quality customer service! Hawaiian is easily one of the worst airlines from the bottom to the top! Leave it to the mainland to swoop in and save another failing "local" company.

    Yes, and my sister-in-law who works for Hawaiian will not see her pay increase much if at all.

      Depends on what she does. Some will see a substantial pay increase. 🤑🤑🤑

      That would be an interesting special livery. Similar to the throwback liveries that United and American do, or things like the "Salmon-Three-Salmon" that Alaska already does. But Hawaiian has to stay and the primary operation to and from Hawaii, that is the only way this will be successful..

    Peter and everyone else at Hawaiian HQ will be gone. Hawaiian HQ will be closed and everyone laid off. Ticket counters will be closed and rolled into Alaska followed by more layoffs. The legendary Hawaiian Air service will be gone. Don't believe me? Ask Virgin how it went for them....

    • @absolutefba241
      @absolutefba241 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Headquarters level there could be layoffs for sure like at Virgin but Ticket counter, Flight Attendants, Pilots, Rampers, Mechanics will not nor were they at Virgin so that statement is misleading. If anything they will need to hire more.

      They will. That’s exactly what they did when they bought Virgin America. They didnt cheat anyone on their seniority. Simply dovetailed together. Company seniority as well as classification seniority. No worries with that.

    you don"t come from the state of Alaska. You are Seattle based. Have been.. Uses the State Of Alaska. Alaska and Hawaiian only in name.

    • @nunabusiness9002
      @nunabusiness9002 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a business. Putting a state in the name means nothing. You're clearly just a worker, not in any upper management level position 🙄

      when Alaska was first created, it was from the merger of McGee airways and Star Air Service, which formed Alaska airlines. Where was this merger at? Anchorage Alaska. They were made from Alaska. The only reason they are headquartered and based in Seattle, was that they were running out of space and it was cheaper and easier to expand out of Seattle. Alaska Airlines still has strong connections in Alaska, so it is called Alaska Airlines for a reason, that reason being is that they were created in Alaska.
