I just made this tonight. By far the best Teriyaki I have made in about 15 years of trying to get it right. Easy instructions and directions. So simple and perfect. For the weight I just used a foil covered brick. It was perfect.
Just watched a video on the importance of letting your pan heat up properly. 50 years old and still learning new stuff. The "you're doing it wrong" stuff has blown my mind. Thank you TH-cam and thank you for showing me how to cook one of my favourite dishes.
Thank you for watching and your comments. Your comment really motivates me and I'm very glad my video was helpful for you. You're welcome. And I appreciate TH-cam too. Thank you for your warm comment. Have a nice weekend!
Hello my friend. Very nice of you to speak English and try to present your gorgeous country's food for us foreigners! Will definitely follow and try out your recipes. Thank you from Greece!
Hello my friend! Thank you for watching and your message from Greece makes me happy😊Speaking English to the world is my big challenge. Yes,please try it!! Arigato(Thank you)!!
I liked that you added the sugar separately from the sauce. That seems smart as putting sugar in with the others ingredients in a bowl…the sugar mostly stays at the bottom of the bowl instead of the pan. I will do this from now on.
Using a plate to press down on the chicken to cook it evenly for thighs, genius. I would never have thought of that. This is going to step up my game for me. Thank you.
I’m very glad my video will be helpful for you. And the plate may be too hot, when you remove it, please take care. Thank you for watching and your concern! I hope you’ll enjoy it:)
I love how put so much attention to the details of the process and explained every "trick" you used. Even though I knew how to make teriyaki chicken, I learned something new from this video.
That's not bone out and spread out. Too thick. It is still curled up. That is a gigantic chicken thigh. Watched a Japanese chicken wing video earlier and I gotta say, their chickens are built different. Perhaps a different breed than in Canada where I'm at. Went to a farmers auction recently and I gotta say, lots of different chickens out there.
This is by far the best teriyaki chicken video i watched. The taste is very authentic and the chicken is juicy when i replicated it. I’m not a big person but i hope this message motivates you to create more videos. I feel like following your videos always results to authentic japanese taste. Great job!
Thank you so much! I’m very glad you made and enjoyed teriyaki chicken. Your message definitely motivates me to make videos. I’m happy to have great viewers. Thank you!
Just made it tonight. I bought the real sake, mirin and soy sauce inproted from Japan. As most of the ones you grt in the uk are zero alcohol but added sugar. The sauce tastes completely different. Its much more sharper and umami, than the incredibly sweet stuff you get premade. I also cooked my purple sprouting broccoli in the chicken fat once I had removed the chicken. Lovely!
Thank you for making and buying sauce ingredients. Yes. Actually in Japan zero alcohol mirin is sold. Nice! Purple sprouting broccoli is definitely tasty too.😊
@@kyodokan.japanese.cuisine I often just use good sake, honey, sugar and ginger/garlic (sometimes pineapple chunks and chili for a flair) Isn't Mirin just sweetened cooking sake?
I love to add a little fine chopped garlic and ginger to the teriyaki sauce... roast before adding the liquid ingredients. Some sesame seeds add even more flavor. I really like how the chicken was initially prepared without oil or other fats... will try that for sure! Thank you for the video.
This was the other of your videos I’ve seen a few days ago. Compared to other Teriyaki Chicken recipes where they used a ratio of 2:2:2:2 for Sake, Mirin, Soy sauce and sugar, i was intrigued by your variation of using a bit more soy sauce and less sugar. Today was the day and i made teriyaki chicken for the first time in my life. Unfortunately i couldn’t get boneless chicken thighs i bought full chicken legs so de-bone-ing was a little more work. I served it with rice and pak choi. It was sooooo delicious and my family loved it! This recipe will definitely get on my most favorites list. Thanks for sharing! I will definitely recommend your recipe to my friends.
Thank you for watching and trying my recipe. And I'm very happy you and your family love it and it became your favorite recipe😊. You're welcome. I really appreciate for sharing too! Have a nice weekend!!

Scooping it out with the rest of the sauce by a silicone spatula is against your religion or something?

Yep, I will demand some ginger and garlic with mine, and maybe replace a little bit of the sake with balsamic vinegar.
That sounds good, but I would also add onion, and caramalize the onion, so onion is not pungent.
