As a source of reference, my audi sq5 diesel over 5 years has had an egr replaced, a dpf sensor, oil and filters replaced 4 times, been to dealer for excessive noise from sun roof (not resolved), approximate cost £3,460.00, cars only done 50,000 miles in 5 years.
I've been around long enough to remember when Hyundai began selling cars in the U.S. with the introduction of the Excel. To say it was a terribly made disposable vehicle is being kind to our Korean friends. Look how far Hyundai has come today, although it took them A LOT more time to get it together than Tesla. An incredible reality considering the way Tesla kept so much in house and did things their own way. Mass producing a reliable, good handling, safe, and overall well rounded car is an incredibly difficult thing to do and Tesla has proven over time to be more than capable. Tesla naysayers don't have a leg to stand on upon close inspection.
My Chevy impala had a starter go out, an AC compressor, an oil gasket that was leaking, and some issues with the gear that directs air flow. It cost about $1800 to fix all of these things. That was between the $34 oil changes that I had to do every few weeks (my commute is 90 miles per day, 4 days per week. My work has free charging. I won’t have to deal with starters, oil gaskets, oil changes, transmission issues……… and I won’t have to pay for most of my charges. I’m having a really hard time seeing the down side. Now used ones are
Greetings from Auckland New Zealand. This is an extremely honest review. I have been asking around owners of mostly Model 3 about issues with their Teslas and there is a rather uncanny common theme here between their experiences and yours except their mileage is a fraction of what your car's is. I love the shape. Respect your sincerity.
I had a Model3 LR since 2020. Lease is over after 60.000 miles and gave it back without any larger issues. I had two B-pillar cameras and rear lights beeing replaced due to fogging by the Ranger, that its. Now i have the Highland and will drive it for much longer because. It is much improved, ride quality and noise dampening is much better. I enjoy the ventilated seats.
I have a Tesla model 3 2021 sr+ had to get its battery replaced a few months ago I bought it brand new. it stopped charging at 58,000 miles then the notification went away and let me charge about 2 weeks later it wouldn’t let me charge I took it to Tesla and they replaced the battery for free keep in mind I love accelerating a lot I need to chill out and drive smooth and I also used it for my detailing business so it went through a lot lol but I’m starting to drive it more smoothly hope it last till 350k miles 🤞
Thats funny I took delivery of my refreshed M3 LR in March , mind you this is one piece taillight , there was water in it !!! That shouldn't happen. Service advisor said oh its normal give it a week it will go away if not go in app. Guess what it's April 5th still there !! They are Coming out on Monday to replace it. Other than that I love the car !!! Quiet, comfortable and very fast. First EV
Oh wow! I’m jealous. That’s a great car & they have all of the improvements included (except the taillight, apparently!) with the refresh model. Congrats on making the purchase. You won’t regret it one bit & it will save you significant money in the long run.
@@techgeektesla thank you I appreciate it. Your video also helped me , especially since you love your car so much. That is the theme from the majority of Tesla owners , they love their cars even with small issues, they will continue to buy Tesla. I'm glad I'm part of the Tesla family
Great video and so easy and cheap to maintain! Tesla will be replacing the front control arms on my M3 LR too, at about 46.000 miles (75.000 km). Noticed that your front right tire is mounted the wrong way round (the rotation marker is pointing the wrong way).
Hi, John, Idea for a video: Teslas can use Autopark in a parking lot with lines, but can't do it with your garage at home. What if you painted parking lot type lines in your garage? Could you fool the car into using Autopark?
Thanks for the suggestion- I am wondering if this would work - usually you have to approach a parking spot perpendicular to it for the cameras to pick it up. I will have to see if it works.
That’s the BEST car you’ve ever owned? I’m 13 min into the list of problems. I’ve never had that much wrong with any car I’ve ever owned. I was interested in a Tesla until this video. The closest dealership to me is 1h away
@@richardk1944 yeah, except it was all (mostly) covered under warranty. Biggest pain was the suspension parts! I also understand that most other owners don’t have as many issues as I’ve had. Long term, I am fully confident that this car will save me tons of money vs. an ICE vehicle. Thanks for your comment!
I noticed your Uber sticker and had a question. I have model 3 and was thinking of driving for Uber and was wondering if you have any trouble picking up larger customers? I'm 6'tall and on the heavier side and it's not easy for me to get in the back seat. Thanks.
Once it was a little tricky, but the guy I picked up didn’t blame the Tesla. I keep my front passenger seat moved far forward to accommodate guests of all sizes.
I will say this I have not had the same amount of issues you had. I have only had to replace the air filter. Warranty for rear driver taillight like you. I think over time they make things better.

I first I thought some of theses issues were minor but .. over all theses things shouldn’t happen period. Specially on a fairly new car.

Seems like a lot of issues compared to my Prius. It’s at about almost 5 years to.
This is a lot of repairs. I have never had any repairs other than recalls.
