You showed and talked about the cistern. People still use them in my area and for many years I delivered water to them when they were low because of no rain and other issues. I still sell water to water haulers who deliver to these cisterns. People did drink the water from these cisterns and probably some still do. I can't tell you all the disgusting things I have seen in some of these cisterns. Snakes, earthworms, lizards, mice, birds, opossums, rats, black water from coal and wood, etc. Some would pour Clorox in their cistern to kill the bacteria.
I just love winding up a day with a small glass of wine and a Chig video. Puts me to sleep in peace and comfort with a smile, feeling grounded and as if all is right with the world.Which it really is not entirely. But this Chig world makes it seem to be so. Bless you, Beau, and friends.

When I was about 17 some friends dropped me off at home one evening (my mom's house) after being pretty well lit (I've always been a lightweight). I got out of the car and they drove off immediately. About 5 or 6 hours later I woke up on the front lawn with dew all over me. The sun was up and cars were driving down our busy street. It only happened once (on the lawn) but you reminded me of it. BTW, I rarely drink to this day.

Hope all is settled with that... not sure how old that video was. On a lighter note I just picked up a Garrett at pro and when the snow melts in my area. My grand father inlaw said I could search his property thats been in his family since 1860's. Keep up the great work. Love the videos.
I wish i had thought to save silver coins as a young person! All those Kennedy silver dollars I used to have ! But I had no financial foresight as a child, I loved to write stories, and have adventures, head in the clouds.
for reference chigg, pennies switched from solid copper to copper clad zinc core in 1982. anything before that will be solid copper unless its from a short period during wartime where they were made of steel. wheaties ended in 1959 when it was replaced with the memorial. great video as always!

Aloha Chigg, a 44 copper is super rare during the steel penny days. Geoengineering there and here today. Nice stump, Walnut trees are a 40 year crop. Thanks for the companionship.
The machine will give you an approximate depth on its display. Depending on machine as to how accurate it is. I know I’m not the Chigg but thought I’d try to help when I can.😊
@mikethewop00 Thanks so much for the donation! Most detectors have a depth meter, but they are calibrated for coin size objects and good soil so not completely reliable. I can usually figure out the depth and size by the subtle sounds the detector makes. That is just something you pick up with time and experience. I never look at the depth meter.
So true, even finding a wheat penny in change anymore is very rare. I still scoop them up when I do. But I also separate the cooper ones too even though I know they are not really worth anything now! By the way, planning on loading my truck and doing a Chigg style trip out west for some sight seeing and primitive camping this year since retired? Wondering if any extra safety concerns or good advice I should be concerned about?

The toy car reminds me of when I learned that my younger brother would bury something of value to his fellow siblings in the backyard whenever he was mad at one of us. It might be interesting to do some metal detecting there now to see what treasures might be found.

I'm convinced a structure like this at my 1888 home is a cistern. It is underground. Our back porch is above it, so as workers were digging under the porch, they discovered the large area. Now, my husband seems to think there was a door from the basement to this structure. He doesn't believe it was a cistern. What else could it be? According to a worker that climbed inside, it has perfect brick walls. I'm pretty dumb about this stuff. But thought I'd run it past you and your people.😁

@@48thstateprospecting i can assure you that is not a Diablo, as it is a very different casting and looking here at the wiki it matches 2014 Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560, wiki shows exact color and wheels which are PR5s which came out in 2000. i imagine that you meant countach, as they were produced 74-90 while the diablo was 90-2001.

not dating my very late grandmother she used frozen orange 🍊 juice for many a moons when hytop was short lived brand. she froze everything bread,hotdogs, but she turned me on to pepper jack cheese on hotdogs toasted buns nuked hotdogs. she’d split wheeny [hot dog]. i started noticing her refrigerator not cooling oh she raised the dead. she was set in her ways change doesn’t happen. one after noon card game clunk noise fridge compressor died’d i said that’s that what’s that the fridge went better not. that fridge was back in the sixties-seventies era brown. she had matching cook top vent-hood. oven just as old . she would roll up cardboard stuff it between the door to the oven. Lord have mercy when she wanted a 1950’s sit under hair dryer. We all had a doozy of a time telling her they don’t make them anymore [why].. we searched and searched every blooming store from home to Louisiana i was exhausted from looking right before a store called SERVICE MERCHANDISE was going out of business i happened to spot it not the same color the Lord was looking out for us. wrapped up birthday or xmas present i don’t remember she was elated but spending money you can’t win. hey i we loved her to death it’s what mattered she fed/clothed her grandchildren yes dementia/ hearing went your orange juice find reminded me of the frozen stuff we all drank
