As an investment it makes sense. As a currency its idiotic. I don't know about you but I like to know how much my money is worth. I don't want to buy something for $100 just to have the currency jump in value the next day and realize that I just spent $1000 to buy that $100 product... luckily normal currency isn't so volatile, so I'll stick with that.

Bitcoin is designed to have disinflation for people to make money off of (as the value increases) but for a country's economy to function healthily its currency cannot be in disinflation as this decreases consumption and slows down the economy (as it was with japan) the ideal rate is 2% inflation per year or so (hyperinflation is also a problem).

the only real adventage to these people is that it's all digital. it would be the same story (and better for them) if they had the same services with their national currency. bitcoins just makes these people's lives more volatile.
that's exactly what I wanted to comment! They have an infrastructure problem, not a currency problem. Given that most of their payments seem to happen via a 3rd party app, that app could just manage the accounts via one central server instead of relying on blockchain.
As with most distributive technology it's volitile but time tames it. Google, Amazon, Netflix. All had price volitility but leveled out in time. Bitcoins volitility will also level out as it's adopted on a large scale.
If they get paid in BTC and do not want to hold it due to the volatility they can exchange BTC to dollars on the strike app any time they want, or use the atm, and soon one of the many other apps under development. I really wonder how high the fees are. If I withdraw or send btc from my wallets, the gas fees are usually around 10 dollars… so how does it work if they want to buy eggs end tomatoes for 3 dollars there?

As an investment it makes sense. As a currency its idiotic. I don't know about you but I like to know how much my money is worth. I don't want to buy something for $100 just to have the currency jump in value the next day and realize that I just spent $1000 to buy that $100 product... luckily normal currency isn't so volatile, so I'll stick with that.

All people who hate crypto are under the comments feeling good about the recent Bitcoin crash and the effect on El Salvadors economy. But truth still remains that given the present state of the economy and all, it's still in our best interest to to embrace to not only cryptocurrency but anything that's inflation resistant. I made me my first million earlier this year in the peak of this inflation through cryptocurrency and forex. Now the inflation is tearing most Americans apart and I am a little less than concerned.
Honestly, some of us are playing catch up...Seems very profitable though it obviously not risk free... How do you know the right ones to invest in? or at least ones with less risk...

Yeah it can cleary be useful in countries where paying your bills take 3H and the such. Kinda worried about them wanting to save all their money on it tho. Bitcoin, as a long term investment can work, but it is not the first thing you should go for to secure yourself financially. Their whole savings are tied to a wildly fluctuating asset.

Im glad to inform you that my country doesnt completely works on bitcoin as you say. We use the US dollar and bitcoin is only used where tourist tend to go. = some places at the beach. Not all the country accepst bitcoin as a form of transaction.

Bitcoin is designed to have disinflation for people to make money off of (as the value increases) but for a country's economy to function healthily its currency cannot be in disinflation as this decreases consumption and slows down the economy (as it was with japan) the ideal rate is 2% inflation per year or so (hyperinflation is also a problem).

I watch several TH-cam videos on how to trade in the stock market but haven't made any headstart because they are either talking some gibberish or sharing their story of how they made it and I do not want to make mistakes by taking risks in my own hands

the only real adventage to these people is that it's all digital. it would be the same story (and better for them) if they had the same services with their national currency. bitcoins just makes these people's lives more volatile.
that's exactly what I wanted to comment! They have an infrastructure problem, not a currency problem. Given that most of their payments seem to happen via a 3rd party app, that app could just manage the accounts via one central server instead of relying on blockchain.
As with most distributive technology it's volitile but time tames it. Google, Amazon, Netflix. All had price volitility but leveled out in time. Bitcoins volitility will also level out as it's adopted on a large scale.
If they get paid in BTC and do not want to hold it due to the volatility they can exchange BTC to dollars on the strike app any time they want, or use the atm, and soon one of the many other apps under development. The difference is the government can print more dollars when they want which devalues your dollars.....they cannot do this with bitcoin. This is massive.

I really wonder how high the fees are. If I withdraw or send btc from my wallets, the gas fees are usually around 10 dollars… so how does it work if they want to buy eggs end tomatoes for 3 dollars there?
They are using the lightning network which is a payment protocol layered on the bitcoin blockchain . You can make fast micro payments with it .Fees are very low.

This dude is uncomfortable to watch. Every single person he interviews is uncomfortable. He's also always taking a biased stance with his questions.
He went to Bitcoin Beach without any bitcoins in his wallet, didn't use the Bitcoin ATM after making a big deal about it being the only one on the island, just so he could make a point about it being inconvenient to pay in BTC. What a joke.
Getting the other dude to send him $10 in BTC just to make the transaction on camera seemed incredibly rude considering that the bartender might only have $40 to her name.
