I've worked with women in tech for many years. In fact, I've worked with many women CEO or COO's of tech companies in the last 40 plus years. In my experience, the reason people don't want to help is because they don't know what they're doing themselves. Many well educated CS people come to me for help. I believe it''s the companies fault. They need to encourage employee's to help each other and create classes for new employees as well as older ones like me who transfer into a new department. Good luck and find a good mentor even if you have to work overtime or a 2nd job to pay for it. Thank you for all the videos Julia. You're doing a great job.
I really appreciate you saying that! I agree that a lot of the times the company, the culture and/or the manager are the problem. People should be encouraged to ask questions, not feel embarrassed if they don't know something. Then they pretend they do know it, they mess up, and down the road another eng will have to fix it...
Great inspiration at a very right time. Thanks Julia. It would be great if you can also create a video on how to participate or stay updated about tech events.
Awesome Julia! And I can tell you that it doesn’t matter how long you’ve been on the journey, especially working in tech, where you need to learn every day! Although the good part is feeling challenged every day! The best thing is always to keep going, step by step.
First: YOU ROCK! Keep the excellent job you're doing, it's meaningful and impactful. As for the most important message on this video: there's a lot of us with imposter syndromes, so don't feel alone and whenever you doubt about something new, just ask. The majority will kindly help and as said very correctly, the only request beforehand is that we did our homework prior. Keep shining minha prima Julia 💙, I see you grow in this tech world, but you're already an amazing human being.

Thank you Jules i actually needed this, job hunting is rough even with 20+ of experience. Rejections will start to make you think things. So thank you so much
I have also had next to zero confidence! Thought it would come with age, time, and life experiences, but it is getting worse...day-by-day! Thank you for this video, Julia and wish you continued success! #100Devs
Há quanto tempo você está fora do Brasil? Achei o seu inglês e teu jeito muito massa! E sobre o vídeo, acredito que a sindrome do impostor é mais recorrente na carreira tech do que em qualquer outra área.
Should've dug the definition of imposter syndrome as an introduction because there is a lot of misinterpretation about the current definition and the origins of this phenomenon. Great advices tho
Depends on how much work you put into it. Studying at a good and healthy pace, I would say 1 year. But having the skill and getting a job are two different things...

how much time it takes to you to learn coding from zero and get a job?
