these cars all need is downpipe and tune. :) and its a monster for the street. 2nd gear, pull loses z traction. 500+hp is plenty of power. very cool car! lots of potential / turbo swap, meth, 700hp.
Hi there nice vid by the way. I just want to ask and since I have a 2021 M2 competition, I decided to change the downpipes, the pipes going towards the back is from eisennman race with no exhaust just a straight pipe with no blockage whatsoever, then I change charge pipes, the crank hub and have the ECU tuned, thats it. Now my question is do I need to change my OEM intercooler to a CSF or any aftermarket dual pass charge air cooler? and I dont track this car but just drive it daily and drive it spiritedly and fast. Hope to hear from you the soonest. Reply
Sounds amazing dude. Are you worried that all the flashes will void your warranty? I have a new stock M4, and I want this tune but I'm hearing different things. They have a flash counter? I don't want to void my warranty if possible. Thanks!
Hey Blake, love the channel! I am considering getting a BM3 license for the GTS flash and GTS tune. I am staying away from Stage 1 until I am out of warranty and plan on getting the crank hub fixed. Have you fixed yours at all? Think I can get away with the GTS tune without any issues? Thanks
Were you planning on fitting the Berty30 between the steering column and the dash? That looks like just a weird enormous gap. Probably just the angle of the video.
It’s all the way out and down. Just like my seating position the lowest it will go. This is why I modified the E30 steering column to sit 2 inches lower for proper ergonomics #BECAUSERACECAR🏁
I have the MPE, I was wondering if I should just get a S1 tune with changed charge pipes. Will the downshift have a sound when downshifting? Did you notice a major sound difference from stock to S1? Thanks!
Really want to do this on my M4 '16 with MPE... Any advice? Complete rookie here but want to do a stage 1 91 octane because I want to keep the car in stock... Also just want the downshift burbles
Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act I recommend a read. This will clear up what would be covered and what wouldn’t. Basically every time it goes to the dealer I’ll flash it back to stock.
But doesn't the car's computer track boost levels and so the dealer would recognize pushing an extra 10 psi through the turbos? MMA would apply to physical components that act in similar fashion as OEM, so a software tune forcing an increased workload would not hold up in a legal case I'm guessing. @@BlakesGarage
So that stage 1 tune gives the GTS transmission tune which include faster clamping and bubbles on stock exhaust and pipes. Approximately how much hp gained?
hey Blake, i got the same software but dit not a chance to play with. Do know if BMW will make a fuss about in regards of fac warranty since this is a flash to the ecu?
I do know actually lol. Yes they know if you flashed the car even if you put it back to stock. They may do a goodwill warranty but that's usally a one time thing. The basic rule is that your warranty will not be avoided unless they can prove that the specific thing that is having an issue was caused by the modifications that you have done. So if your car is tuned and you get robbed knock they will not warranty the motor. But if let's say a camshaft position sensor goes bad. That would be warranty as that has nothing to do with any sort of tune and that's a specific problem with a part that should be covered under warranty.
Probably a silly question but I have a full bolt on forester xt and I’m looking to either sell it for an F80 m3 or drop 10k into it and do a built motor/6speed. If you had your wrx still and was in the same situation what would you do being you’ve owned damn near the same thing.
Uhhh M3 duh 🙄 it wouldn’t be the last time you dumped 10k into it. You’ll just run down a bath of more broken stuff. I really feel the reason they say on the Subaru commercials that most of the percentage of the Subaru sold are still on the road it’s just because people are stupid enough to keep fixing them. Because they keep breaking.
People have issues with the electrode breaking off and messing up the engine it’s a documented issue on the forums. Also the other design is the ones I installed are one step cooler and also are gapped differently than stock. I did this to run a full E85 tune.
Blake's Garage i heard people saying bmw upgraded some stuff for 2017 competition pack. Not sure if they do anything about this issue. Do u think i need upgrade the spark plug? Cuz i flashed my car last week by myself, so i’m pretty new to this,
Do you feel a big difference in the grab between gears switch? My friend owns a GTS and that grab is just ridiculously fast, my other fiend flash is M6 with with that flash as well and well let’s just say it’s almost as fast as the GTS grab
Yes the GTS trans tune is much more immediate on upshifts and downshifts also has a higher clamping force of the clutches. As for hardware upgrades just spark plugs are nessasary. Crankhib fix is also recommended as I actually spun mine recently.
Blake's Garage yeah have heard about that Crankhub issue but for some reason I also see a lot of people saying it’s not as frequent as some forums may claim. I will definitely do a little more research into it.
Can you let us know how much of a difference you felt going from stock to the GTS flash? The bootmod3 stage one seemed a bit hairy for a daily driver. But I am am curious to hear if you felt it was worth the registration fee cost for the GTS flashs, dct & engine? Thanks
I didn't notice a huge difference with the GTS engine tune beside the burbles. The DCT tune is excellent and makes a huge difference highly recommend. The CS tune is the best for all around driving as the power delivery is very smooth. Make sure to subscribe and turn on notifications because I have a Dyno video coming out soon.
Red_Nation look up the discussions on this in BimmerPost. Lots of great content and comments from other owners. Just purchased Bm3, I’m stock besides intake right now. The GTS DCT flash is fine on stock. It’s a factory flash. I think Bm3 also allows you to custom tune the burble.
steve sutandinata Yeah I mean I still had warranty the car was basically brand new. However now the car is flagged so anything I try to do through warranty is a real pain in the ass. If you brought the car in with the tune or even without the tune on the car they will know the car is tune and most likely you will be flagged if you have the issue. I did get BMW to fix it however which was very nice but it was a one time at Goodwill warranty. I got lucky you could completely toast the motor and then they will not cover that that’s a $35,000 engine. So the three grand to do the crank hub is a good insurance and investment to not ever have that issue.
The s55 just doesn't sound that good otherwise i'd pick up an f80 m4/m3. Performance is undeniable but its just not audibly stimulating at all which is sad considering even the n55 or b58 base model cars sound better.
Wahh 😿 car sounds great. It's an acquired taste. Make the exhaust flaps open 100% of the time and it's amazing. Not a V8 but no shit its way faster twin turbo inline 6 🏁🏁🏁
@@BlakesGarage Don't get me wrong it still sounds great but n55's just sound more potent and it doesn't take more than a youtube search to realise. Of course it doesn't take away from the fact the s55 is better suited for performance.

From what I read the act is very clear and prevents the dealership from let's say replacing a motor mount if it breaks even though you have a tune. But in new Jersey I've heard stories of guys whos cars had broken down and was still under warranty but was denied warranty service because of aftermarket parts even though the parts have nothing to do with the problem at hand. Again it varies from dealership to dealership and depends on weather or not the shop manager or GM is fine with doing warranty work so long as the aftermarket work done to the car has nothing to do with the problem at hand. Over here they are a lot more up tight about aftermarket work. Heck there was a time when car manufacturers tried voiding warranties if their brand of oil wasn't used. But that's pretty cool man. Nice to see that corporations don't have full control over the situation over there
The BM3 doesn't require cracking into the ECU anymore and can be flashed on and off without detection. There hasn't been any known flags with Bootmod3 and there are countless people running them and getting warranty work done. The only way the dealer would know is if they saw intakes, downpipes, chargepipes, etc. when inspecting for warranty work.
@@YouSoundButtHurt Lol, I know; the naivety is strong here. Everyone throws around the good 'ol 1975 Magnuson Moss Act like it means anything. Nothing. Iv put panel filters in and 1 step colder spark plugs. 👍
a lot of torque at low revs is not good fir the bearings... that's why bmw enginners avoid such mapping 😉
