Just got crank hub upgrade as was servicing the timing chain anyway so killed two birds with one stone. Great platform & still have amazing road presence 7 years later

I have seen and read over and over that the crank hub issue is ONLY for those with mods. Once you even add a simple tune to boost power, that is where the issue comes in. If you leave the car stock and do simple things such as just intake and exhaust, I have been told that it will not be an issue.

I always had trouble with my BMtroubleyous after 6 years : a new sports exhaust for the M4 is not cheap and I also had to replace the inter cooler in its 6th year, yet the mileage was only 44.000 km...
Great overview video few things tho The adaptive headlights come with the following Pre lci non adaptive xenon Pre lci adaptive xenon Pre lci adaptive led Lci non adaptive bi-led Lci adaptive icon led Other failure points are The PCV valve, goes out around 55k miles Charge air cooler, internal baffles crack and leak coolant into the charge pipes Coolant reservoir, cracks and splits due to heat Charge pipes, fail due to heat (have not experienced this personally yet) Spark plugs, coils and injectors all known to fail, especially with tuned cars made worse with ethanol I’ve had a fair share of issues in my m4 being a early gen 2015 model, everything listed above and more (excluding the charge pipes) has happened to me, my car is around 60k miles, bone stock, only modifications being lci trim upgrades (basically oem+ cosmetics) Those listed above are issues to lookout for, they don’t happen too often though, I think the previous owner just neglected the car more then you should, but for any car person who knows how to properly care for it, these issues should be more spaced out (they will happen, just depending on the level of care, will happen further down the line)

We piss farted around the inevitable and over the last 13 years, we drove a BMW 335i M E92 Sports Coupe (great fun for the price) a F20 125i M Sports, x5 F15 30d M Sports. IMO, Merc c43 AMG is just plain ugly on the inside. audi s5 is too sterile but tech and interior on the Audi is pretty special but performance was what I was after. Wish me luck on my hunt, no many m4s where I live.

People should also know that these cars are extremely badass and are NOT for everyone, the advertised horsepower of 431 is for the rear wheels and not the engine, most dyno at close to 500 engine horsepower!!!

2018 is the only year where you will get the refresh (LEDs, infotainment) while retaining the carbon fiber driveshaft (removed 2019+ for emissions as the new exhaust took more space)
