I had a window busted out and a bag of tools taken before!! It was $1000 loss. 350 window and tools. So this is a very real concern! Great video, thanks man
Thats pretty awesome. Great job!!! My add would be.... Instead of glueing and screwing. Use hinges. So you could pull out quick....lol.... Then the platform would fold and could be placed in the bed. Since you cleared the wood and all (for protection from the elements for a night or two at a time). This way you could use the whole back. Or half, depending how you broke it down. Just a thought
Found your channel looking for Firestone Destination Reviews. Thanks for that by the way. This is a pretty neat idea. Might have to try it. Like the hat by the way, I have a grey one. Thanks from Saskatchewan!
I like your video man. Trying to figure out what I need to do for my work truck. Just build a tool box for under that flatbed. Just find the metal myself and what cheaper that way.
I ripped out the back seats of the company pickup twin cab last weekend. The boss wanted to carry a generator and stihl saw etc. I fitted a plywood base with a divider or bulkhead no higher than 18”. I told them not to go higher with tools as it’s dangerous. Told him the seats needed selling as they way a ton and I dont fancy re fitting them after vans sold in a couple yrs. 😂🇬🇧👍🏻

That's a great idea! I think I'll have to put some thought into how to make it happen. Thank you!
Love it! I was looking for a camping idea for my daily driver and this might work for me. Awesome dog too - blue healers have tons of energy to burn!
haha they are wild dogs that for sure!! haha

Nice dog! Ive got a 6 1/2 year old ACD … why I'm watching to see how to build him a platform in the rear cab of my 350.
Thank you! I hope your build goes well!
@ModernPrairieHomestead I was rushed so I only got a basic platform built but it worked great on top of the seat. Next year I'll modify it.
Body Look good to me life is simple👍thanls for the tip
Damn these comments (get a life guys), love the build man.
Thanks. Good idea. What is up with coffee maker? What kind is it? That seams to be the critical component. :)
Yes where did you get the coffee maker?
Also Very interested in seeing some of your work! Im a contractor as well. . Nola Builders LLC. New Orleans,LA
I’d just go ahead and slap a shell on the bed. Get a sliding cargo system like Decked or similar. 👍🏻
Maybe he hauls thing that you can’t with a topper.
Nice van. But is it safe if you have an car accident?
Probably not but if you were concerned about that you could build a divider. Not any less safe than just stacking loose items in the backseat.

Now those batteries and coffee maker are right in line with your head. I’m sure Chevrolet has thought of this idea before and decided against it
remove the seats you will have more space👀
We actually ended up doing this. Kept the same framing just a new platform top to maximize on the extra space.
I would get the dog seat to ride lower. You never know in case of a sudden stop , accident, just saying ...
I totally disagree. No such thing as too much coffee.

Why not use the bed
Easier to lock the front and leave space open.
