“Mrs Right doesn’t want to hear me talk”. 🤣🤣. Russ, you aren’t alone! My wife would be the same way. Supposed to be cooler temps starting this weekend or Monday. If so, we will finally get under 100 degrees in North Louisiana. Stay inside & stay cool….Dan 9:41
Well, I think we checked all the boxes. Right after people went to work, we rode at about 9 o’clock yesterday morning. Not a busy highway, where we rode the national colonial Highway. And 8 miles we saw one car come by and one park ranger. send a helmet to chat with my bride, check. Don’t get a much safer area than an area that absolutely nobody is at. Lol. temperature, yesterday was about 80° and a nice cool breeze coming off the river, bay. I think we clicked all the boxes. All good advice.
I agree love riding alone. Find it very relaxing to ride alone with music playing my ears (I know, more danger with the headphones) Rarely ride on busy streets; by rarely I mean never.
I agree with you Russ. I don't like the heat or the cold either. I usually go for about a 25 mi ride through trails, side-streets and parks around my town. It's nice and I get to see most parts of my town. I pedal all the way except that last few miles when using the throttle seems rewarding at the end of a good ride. I usually make one or two stops along my route to enjoy the scenery and to give my butt a break. Looking forward to riding again after this heat wave. Keep talking..🙂
Hey Russ Aloha from Hawaii🌴Your Chicago area has had brutal heat I don’t blame you for not riding. Sacramento has typical triple digit heat in the summer so morning rides for me. 90 degrees is my limit. Mahalo Russ🌴👍🏻
I try to avoid the spandex clad crazies or very busy trails. Someone is killed almost every week riding on streets here in central Florida. I stay on the trails for the most part.
As much as I want to ride with others I find it causes more dangerous situations on the road its to many bikes for traffic to deal with even if you're in a single line and spaced out its to much to go around and I would agree. There for I like riding by my self
I just got my ebike earlier this week. Amazons cheapest lol a Totguard 26. I love it. Went 21 miles the other day, very fun. I just ride to my local bike path that follows a river just a few blocks from my house. I like to go before noon at least. Definitely too muggy out today in the cincinnati area. But planning on taking it to Put-in-Bay with me this weekend. Cheers!
Hey, Russ. Good points about riding. I have to ride on streets because no paths around. But I ride during the week and non busy times. I have some nice back roads to ride. Temperature wise, I do not ride above 90° and hopefully when there is a breeze when I ride. I need to re-set up my stationary bike for when I can’t get out on my ebike. I need to keep my knees moving too! 😊
Hi Russ. I always enjoy your vids! Yes, the last couple of days have been oppressive here in Chicagoland. 🌡I personally can't deal with the humidity. 😓 This weekend should be great riding weather, though. 😀 So stay safe, stay cool, and continue doing what you do.
I have to lose weight mandate by my doctor because of A1C high. riding alone want lose as much as watching what you eat. I know it is hard to change eating habits. I trying to ride 5 miles every day and petal all the way. I am out of the 250 range and into the 240 range. this is my first month riding.
I do any activity at quiet times since I retired. I kayak and walk my dog, too. There's no reason to go out when working people are doing leisure activities.
Yes in a way is true… riding solo is better and safer “in a way”… I went to a park with my Lectric xp 3.0 and one guy told me the park was protected etc bla bla bla that I wasn’t allowed to e-bike so I turned off my motor and went home… I like also night time but knowingly when there’s no traffic. Luckily there’s a local airport (Perry in Hollywood, FL) by me so I ride around it since there’s literally no traffic always… and is usually safe also.. other bikers do the same…
80°? You Northerners sure are spoiled lol. I'm 6 foot two 300 pounds and I ride in 100° plus weather almost every day in south Florida. Do at least 20 miles a day. Will start seeing some days may be in the 80s in December or January. Great video as always.

I've cut through paths and grass and no go areas. In order to get to my destination. I do what I need to do

Good points, been a hot summer here in Alberta Canada as well, I can't be out in the extreme heat either, really shortens our already short summers

Russ, Russ, Russ! Come on out and ride with us in Eastern Oregon!
Wouldn't that be nice?!

I rode for an hour and 43 minutes this morning in southern Indiana. It was miserable! I much prefer cold weather, as long as it is dry.
👍

When its warm I take rides at 3:00 in the morning because there's no traffic at all in my area .
😳
Great advice. Thanks Russ.

I like riding at night but you take extra risks of course doing so.

Was the park actually “protected” or was he just hassling you?
@@RussIsRight I think he was hassling me, Russ…
@barranquillero1979 🙁
Was the guy a park official, or just some random ken/karen being a 🫏 ?
@@retnav92 in couldn't tell :(

I will trade your heat for my rain.
Hahaha!🤣
In other words...use common sense. Don't play in the middle of traffic, go down dark alleys, or ride during inclimate weather. 😎👍
👍
Good info, glad your not riding
😊
