Thanks Dean, these are both really good base coat guns and a joy to use. If someone was given these two with no knowledge of prices and was asked to pick the one that was twice the price of the other, purely by look, feel and quality most if not all would pick the Meiji as the most expensive, I'm sure of that, cheers mate as always 👍
@deanbrown7643 Got the cap ok, really good condition as well, haven't had a chance to try it yet mate, re landscaping the back of the garden at the moment so limited time, in fact I just laying some slabs as we speak 😀
Excellent comparison, when I used the Meiji for the first time, I thought it was fast. You mentioned to me that the Sata is a bit faster. From what I saw, a bit faster, but had more overspray. I would now have to wonder with a big job, saving time, or materials, which is more important? Thank you Sir, pretty work
Hi Bryan, the Sata is just a little bit more of everything. The Meiji is a lovely tool, and most people looking and handling it would assume it's the more expensive gun , thanks for watching mate. Much appreciate 👍
Here in the US, it's all about the EPA's attempt to reduce overspray, but HVLP tends to be too air hungry for most at home. You really need a beefy compressor to run one for completes. Luckily, only shops are required to use HVLP. DIYers, can use whatever though we're only "allowed' to paint 2-3 cars per year. Still, those are nice guns. Good comparison, Pete!
Hi Boss, You are, of course, right in what you say. The Sata consumption is around 16.5cfm, which is quite demanding for most home setups. Thanks for watching mate, it's always much appreciated 👍
Hey Pete. So I decided to buy the Finer Core 1.5 gun only. I really thought the cups for the FLG5 and ProLite would fit. That's not the case. Is there an aftermarket cup I can use or do I have to buy the Meiji cup? Thanks.
Hi Mate, the Meiji is a 3/8"BSP thread, the same as the Devilbiss FLG5 or Pro Lite, I use my Devilbiss cups on the Meiji, I have a Meiji cup because I wanted one but I have never used it, I wonder why its not fitting?
@@peteshobbies5383 The end (the unthreaded part after the threads that butts to the inside of the gun when cup is screwed on) seems to be too long. That, or the female end on the gun is too short. I will send links to the pictures or a single video showing what I have going on.
Hi buddy, I have a Devilbiss 650 air fed mask, but I don't use it often, I normally use a Moldex mask with 2 filters. I don't have any ventilators filtering the air in only the air out, this is just two 700mm square boxes made of wood with a 600mm extraction fan inside, these vent outside through 100mm filter media that I buy in rolls,
Pete, which other manufactures cups fit the Final Core? I have a lot of guns and I'd like to avoid buying another cup if I already have one that would work with the Final Core.Thanks.

Hi buddy, Their prices are high, although it really does depend on where you are as to how expensive they are compared to the opposition. It would be understandable if they were superior in performance or build quality, but they aren't IMO. They are , I'm told, good in a production setting where they have lots of heavy use, I can't vouch for that as I'm not in that setting but I just can't see it, for example here, the Meiji is definitely the better made gun. Thanks for watching mate👍
Pete, I saw some time ago that Sata kind of "cheats". They exaggerate the tip size to a smaller number. Their 1.3 is actually about 1.45mm, so really the Mejii in 1.5 would be a closer comparison to the Sata in "1.3".

Hi Pete, another enjoyable video mate but how very dare you compare my wonderful Sata X5500 to a tractor😱you can soon go off people can't you😈😏🤣😉You are correct of course, while I like my Sata I don't think it's any better made than my WS400 it's probably as good but I don't buy into what people are saying that the Sata is the best made gun out there🤔 Both the Meiji and the Sata laid the base really well and as you say the Sata is a bit faster plus it has a bigger fan but I prefer the look of the Meiji and at the price it's a nice gun which I'm still hoping to own one of these days🤞😁 Thanks Pete👍 I hope to post a video today of the R500 which I used for the WoW, base and clearcoat😎

Yeah exactly mate as the Meiji is by far the better looking gun and just looking at it it also looks more refined. I was wondering if you were ok mate as it's unlike you to be this late on here but I wondered if you were knackered if you are still working on your garden unless of course you are sitting by the pool somewhere nicer😎☀
@JohnWD40TC02 Thanks John, yes a bit under the weather mate, think I genuinely have the flu, feeling awful, had to stop slab laying in the garden, just no energy then zonked out all afternoon, In bed now so hopefully it will pass, feeling like I've been hit by a bus 🤣🫣
Sorry to hear you aren't feeling to good Pete, lets hope it's one of the 24 hour bugs so it soon buggers off😁 you need to mind those buses mate if one hits you, you might damage it🥴🤕😉sleep well buddy👍
I think I would agree, I know many love there Sata's but they are overpriced and aren't as well made as the Meiji. They are very different, though. The Meiji is small and light. The Sata is much heavier and much bigger, bigger than virtually any other gravity guns
What a great finish pete very well explained thanks for sharing that pete comes down to cost 👍
