NEW McLaren 765LT FIRST DRIVE Review!

- This is the NEW McLaren 765LT, it has a more powerful version of the twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine found in the 720S. The supercar’s power and torque figures are 754bhp (765ps) and 800Nm which is good for a 0-60mph time of 2.6 seconds, a 0-124mph time of seven seconds flat and a top speed of 205mph.
The McLaren 765LT in-gear acceleration is 15% quicker than that of the 720S, which is thanks in part to a substantial weight saving of 80kg off the standard 720S supercar, taking its kerb weight down to just 1,339kg.
Prices start at £280,000, production will be limited to just 765 units, built over the next 18 months.

the new Turbo S vs the 765LT is the match up i would love.

Not all Mclaren owners have problems far from it, on my second Mclaren, had a 570GT which had zero issues, was great to drive , bought my brand new 600 LT this year , incredible driver focused car , done 4 track days already including the Nordschleife this year , again zero problems , McLaren offer a unrivalled driver experience , can’t wait to try the 765LT 👍

They're usually youngsters and don't know. Because their favourite car has been beaten by a McLaren. Just jealous.

Will be close because the turbo s has the 4wd advantage. But tbf mclarens get off the line incredibly well considering that they are rwd. Once its going its way faster than the turbo s, but its also another league of car imo. Turbo s is the best performance for your money in a car that you can still daily and is actually reliable and usable. The 765lt is just pretty much the fastest thing thats not a hyper car.
Not understanding the turbo s comparison? this is way lighter and has over a hundred more horsepower

Cant understand why people bash McLaren, yes the customer service may be the weak point but overall the products seem universally excellent. This looks epic, sounds epic and I can only imagine what it must be like to drive. Beautiful.

Yeah. Whatever anyone says. Mclaren is really pushing the boundaries lately. Even 720S is well match againts a fucking Pista and SVJ. This 765LT is definitely can destroy any supercar and maybe some hypercar.
Mclaren builds very fast and capable cars . They’re ahead of the competition in that area for sure . The problem I have and I’ve owned two now is:
1. Very poor build quality
2. Horrible depreciation
3. Most of the service centers aren’t ready to adequately deal with problems in terms of diagnosis and repair. The centers don’t typically fix cars in a timely fashion or with competence.
4. Terrible customer service from a corporate level. Instead of trying to build a relationship with their customers they try and do whatever they can to get out of covering their products. They like to blame the customer.
5. Most of their cars do lack the soul of say a Ferrari or Lamborghini.
6. Their electronics are a generation or so behind (in general).
7. Mclarens seem to me like they’re In between a kit car and a full production car (kinda like a Tesla).
With that said they do build the worlds best performing cars. If you can put up with the above then buy one . Many people have had different and better experiences than me and I realize that.

This was a very Top Gear like review in terms of format and cinematography! Great work. Also, way better of a review, as usual, than other more "entertainment" based youtubers. I like theStradman, but this review for him would have been him with a camera at his face filming his reaction, going "Brakes brakes brakes". Definitely a market for both types of videos, but I like this track driving better.

If I remember correctly, you critiqued the exhaust note when you first drove the 720. What’s your feeling this time around with the 765?
James in your review you say the P Zero Trofeo R tires started to wear out but a few other reviews say the tires were very sticky. Are the Michelin Pilot sport cup2 tires better than Pirelli tires?

@@dew62169 i didnt think the regular 720s would run 9.7-9.9 stock but Brooks did it. It could be possible or maybe consistent 9.6s
What a beast, thank you. One suggestion though - you quote capacity in metric, power in imperial and torque in metric. The UK went metric in 1965 - I think it's high time you standardised in Litres, Kilowatts and Newton Metres, no?
