Not too much going on with it. Stock Acura CL ECU/harness and ignition for now. I spliced in the Civic headlight/taillight and fuel pump plugs. Wired up a starter and fan switch. Battery relocate. That's it.
I had a j2k swap in my hatch still have it. I'm more jealous of that beautiful scenery in the background. NYC we have buildings as mountains. 😂 and I ran into a similar issue but I end up running a with a AEm Infinity computer.
When you have the blue painters tape in the engine bay where the bolts went was that so that they didn't scratch the paint when they were installed or something
When we shaved the bay I put tape over the holes we were using so they didn't get welded by mistake. When you have over 100 holes to weld it helps you remember at a glance which holes to NOT weld. If that makes sense.
I have the j35 Odyssey manifold rn. We just ran a 13.11 without v tec on some 225/50zr16 street tires. First time at a track.. I am expecting mid 12s tho, definitely do need a tire for sure. And figure out that v tec issue 👍
@@octanemayhem2686 these j-series have too much traction issue, Even when I swap the j35a3 into my accord which weighs 3k pound. On street tires 225/50/16 my best run was a 13.3 at 108
All you need to cut is the light and fuel pump wires. Wire them up to the Civic plugs for the front lights, leave the rear harness in the Civic and cut that somewhere around the bottom of the A pillar on driver side to make connections for rear lights and fuel pump.
how did you guys find a j series with a manual? or did you buy them seperately or use an adapter baseplate for the bellhousing? I'm very interested in doing a j series swap into my del sol, but they are damn hard to come by with a manual. even just the transmission without the engine is hard to come by.
Yeah good luck finding a 6spd. I did happen to buy an auto TL and a manual CL for this swap. But because they're hard to find and 10x more expensive our latest swap was auto ..
I’ve always thought about this swap and wondered what it would take to use the tl/tsx awd (just for info I could be wrong and maybe those cars use the k series)
TSX is K. But you can use the CRV chassis components for the AWD. Then you either KSwap or you could do J2K and still use the K AWD transmission using the K to J adapter plate.
Start looking for mount kits that are compatible. Mounts, harness and axles are the main things. But the short answer is yes J35 is another common swap although I think the j35a8 is preferred. Start doing some research on AcuraZine forums
Lmao, my homie convinced me to kick it right outside the shop, so I did a lil pull and I seen the intersection coming up, the dip looked too deep for my liking and I already had a low asf oil pan, so I hit the brakes, tried to slow down as much as possible so I didn't grenade the pan. I barley tapped the curb tho, I didn't hit the pole. Not this pole anyways lmao. I did slide out and actually hit a pole the next night I think smh 🤦 the car is all good tho just has some cellulite behind the gas cap 😅
@octanemayhem2686 damn I have seen alot of j swapped civic crash on ig from what I assume is the axles..... or the mounts a bad design??? It's the only thing that really keeps me from doing one.
@screwedupcivic2285 I mean there's a lot to consider. I'd say just the significant power/ torque increase could be some of it. But the Insane shafts axles are good. And Hasport from what I've researched has good Mounts. Innovative Mounts are trash. Absolute trash. But yeah bro I'd say go for it. We're working on our 3rd swap rn. Been lacking editing but I have all footage from the 2nd swap and were documenting this one rn too. It's a whole new car after swap fs.
On a scale of 1-10 how hard is this swap? I got a 03 odyssey and I’m looking to pick up a 98ex with a bad motor to put the 3.5 in. I’m here in New Mexico too, you got an insta?
Those mountains in the background at 8:20 remind me of the area between bernalillo and Cuba
That shit rips. Sounds incredible.

🔥 content! Always looking Forward to your next video!
Great Video!!!
Shop looking good!!!
You and the crew kicking ass!!!
Thanks for letting me be a part of this build...
Keep up the great work, and thanks for sharing your challenges as well ;)

V6 swaps are common. Now, that 1 guy who has the twin turbo ls hatch on TH-cam, and met him at SEMA, that's a fast ass civic

What wiring harness have you used or is there a video where it shows the body harness to engine harness ?
The entire CL harness and all fuse boxes cluster ECU everything.

Cool video✌️
Watch it. Another great video man.
I never thought the J-series V6 would be getting so much love!
Only thing I see that you need is a driver mod. Nice build.
What makes you think that non car builder guy making a comment with out having the knowledge to know what is happening here?
good afternoon brother
I have a civic EK and I want to put a jswap in it but I don't know how to do it with the harnesses to be able to turn it on.
I used the WHOLE Acura CL harness. Ignition, ECU everything. Spliced in the Civic lights and fuelpump.👍
That’s really cool!

Toss in a j37 manifold and tb, rl/tls cams, i/h/3in exhaust, and some good street slicks, and you’ll touch mid 12s easy.
