Just 4-5 days back I saw a video similar to this technique and tried it. It really worked and surprisingly no seed was damaged as you told. Thanks for uploading. I love the way you explain :)

Thank you. I purchase Poms once a year in October. I have been frustrated as how to get the seeds out without spending so much time picking them out one-by-one. This is awesome and I just stumbled across this video, so thank you again!

That is a great way to get the seeds =) I have tried several ways to get the seeds and it always ends in a big mess! I buy them when they are in season and freeze the seeds to use in herbal teas too! They add great flavor and color. I am definitely going to try this next time =) thank you!

for me it wasnt as easy as it looks. but ill be getting lots of practice since my soulmate has decided to eat them regularly for breakfast, as long as they're in season here in California.
thanks for the video, i watched many before choosing yours because i liked your friendly smile while demonstrating.😊

Hey Anuja, just a bit of advice: You might find it a bit easier, and safer to use a smaller bladed knife for doing this kind of work. Perhaps try using a "paring knife", with a blade about 2 to 3 inches long.
Great demonstration!!!! Excellent!!!! I'll be buying and using more pomegranates now!!! :D

I de-seed mine in a bowl of water. All the membrane floats to the top, and it washes the seeds in the process too. I wanna try this method, it looks fun. The first time I ever tried to open a pomegranate, my kitchen looked like a murder scene... Red juice all over the white tiles on the wall. But it's worth it for those yummy seeds!

Tip, drop the spoon and just peel them quickly off by softly yet quickly rubbing around it. The opening thing is the way to go actualy, also it doesn't matter if you hit a few fruits. also poor a bit water in the bowl so that you can grap a few white parts out of it.

Perfect, after all that if you drop them into a bowl of water all the white membrane floats to the top. Empty some of the water from the bowl so that the top water goes, and the white parts go with it. Just saw it in another video, thought it might be good to combine the 2 good methods.

Brilliant. Looks like you do need a kind of flat banger, not a spherical one that only pushes on one point. I like the method of getting the pomegranate open, and I almost think it would be easier if you just dislodged the kernels with your fingers rather than trying that spanking method that seems to leave lots inside the skin - also when you are spanking the fruit you cannot see how many are left. Thanks, I never used to like pomegranates because they were so hard to open, but this is very helpful.
