As a person that have witness my mother's experience with Chemotherapy, it is a treatment that takes a toll on your body physically. It made her feel drained, sleepy & fatigue. I had to cook for my mom & help her with household duties because it drained her causing her to sleep so much! I can't believe this man...
As sad as it is, keep in mind she did this to herself by not moving on the first time or at least the 2nd time he showed his true colors. She put her kids through this crap too.

Superhero syndrome - need to feel needed, and be the one to "transform" the other person's life and character, this is an ego issue. 2. Deception - they got deceived and manipulated by that person, sold a lie long enough to be trapped. Unfortunately it is difficult to be alone when dealing with a potentially life threatening illness, especially when you are financially dependent on someone else. I used to work with a girl with similar issues but she wouldn't leave her dog of a boyfriend because she felt like her days were numbered and she didn't have time to start over with a new relationship. I pray this lady finds the strength to leave because if shes not getting emotional support, loyalty, or barely any financial support there really is no reason to stay. He's just extra dead weight at this point.
