Taja followed Adrian across the country because he wanted to live in California. She says they’ve had issues from the start. Taja feels like she walks on egg shells because she is not sure what will make Adrian snap. Adrian says in order to avoid a confrontation Taja lies about things which leads to bigger arguments. Adrian says Taja never takes responsibility for her actions and uses his past to justify her current actions. Taj and Adrian feel like they’re at their wits end and don’t think the relationship has the makings for the long run.

C most times it’s hard to be both, naturally a man/ woman falls in love with their child so that’s almost constant except for irresponsible/deadbeat individuals but loving and staying in love with your spouses takes two and most times people’s ego do not allow the fluent flow of emotions and they become resentful of each other eventually. So you can be a well round man/ woman depending on wether or not your spouse have what it takes to bring it out of you.

I've watched this episode before. When the Judge pauses (at the end) because she feels for the hurt, crying girl, I always choke up. Judge Toler...a force, to be sure. And a compassionate one.

This young lady is broken. She went through a very traumatic experience and instead of getting counselling and dealing with her feelings she jumped into a relationship, felt "rescued" and now she feels resentful towards him because she feels tied to him because of his kind act. He's not a bad guy. Men like to protect and if his woman has been assaulted in the past OF COURSE he's going to want to keep track of her.
He could also be controlling and a narcissist. Not saying he is, but they often masquerade as the hero and can recognize a wounded person to swoop down upon as prey. I’m just saying.

She's broken yes but I also feel as I'd he's controlling, maybe he's a good father and a bad boyfriend 🤷♀️ but those tears are real and something has her feeling like she's on edge. She didn't do a great job at saying what those problems were, so judge toler saw it as he's a "good guy" and she has the problem which I don't think is the case at all.

I'm heart broken for her. She needs help. She's scared, she's traumatised from the assault, and his being protective of her seems like controlling but he actually just wants her to avoid danger. Anything can happen when people get drunk, whether she's with family or not and he knows that.
He needs to take her out more when finances get better, and they need counselling.

The poor girl was raped and Decided to keep the product of that rape - her son. If that doesn't qualify for trauma I dont know what will make you sympathetic. I am almost certain she had no therapy and the physical presence of the child must be an ongoing , daily source of PTSD. She is a strong person

When you've dealt with a situation like hers, it's hard to try to keep moving forward..but at the same time, it won't matter who she's with. She'll continue to have the same problems if she doesn't take the time to fix it.
I do understand why she gets frustrated if she mainly goes out with his family, but at the same time, when you meet someone that has gone through trauma, you're going to be somewhat protective, because you don't want anything to happen.
I agree. He just has to learn not to smother and track her. That only serves as a constant reminder and doesn’t help her in taking her power back.
She could get a job in fast food or retail to earn some money and get out of the house. Once you get off work, you may not have enough energy for that 'date' that you want so desperately. If you don't enroll in some of the free job-ready courses offered by the state of California, how about a game of Monopoly, Charades, put a puzzle together, play a game of cards, join the library book club, go to the park, learn to crochet...etc anything that will take your mind off wanting a 'date' (and not getting one) and to alleviate the arguing.

The issue here (aside from dealing with past trauma) is they're always home. So they're in each other's faces too much and too often. When that happens every little move becomes a great annoyance. They don't get the chance to miss each other or have their individual time and he's keeping tabs with her every move cause he has nothing else to do. That's why ol' girl is going out so often. She don't wanna see his face 24/7 and he sounds like a homebody. Let me tell you as soon as he gets a job, a lot of that stress will go and some of the romance will come back. If she hasn't checked out already.

I felt the same way when Mablean Ephraim left the show. I thought that no one could replace her. After watching Lynn Toler for a year or so, I thought she was much better than Mablean.
Nothing holds you back more than your own insecurities
When you’re in a relationship knowing where your partner is at all time isn’t controlling, it’s caring for them and their safety. Even family members who live together communicate their location. I always call my sisters if they’re late from work because I want to make sure they’re okay. She’s still healing from the abuse and sees him as yet another bully so she needs to be alone and heal without the stress of a relationship.
Lily Rose I think he’s over protective BECAUSE of the abuse he’s been through. Almost men are naturally protective and when they have a partner that’s been through trauma the protective nature kicks in more

Beautiful Ty I personally don’t think the problem is the man, as judge said the guy is not that bad, however I think the problem is more likely on her side simply because she’s damaged from the previous relationship. The fact that the man stepped up on the plate to take care of her child is the sign that the man really cared more about her and her son. One thing maybe she might not have understood from him is that she expects this man to accomplish her wishes which she never take time to discus about with him. So every-time this man fails to make her feel the way she wants to feel, the results is “I am out” had she understood why her man isn’t going out with her, she would’ve taken time to sit down with him and ask him why his no longer taking her out. I applaud him for accepting the child as his own; however, it takes more than signing a name on a birth certificate to be a father. In addition, he's obviously not meeting her needs as a partner. Most of us are emotional beings and in 3 years, for him to not do something as simple as that is shocking. She wanted to see his actions of love, what he was showing her was suffocation and restriction that she's already been placed in. She was broken. Although he did a grand deed, I feel like it was self-serving. He tried to emotionally trap her by signing that birth certificate. Judge Lynn was blinded by that deed. He's stressing her and cheating. His cheating wasn't really addressed. She needs to call her mom and see if she can send her enough money to get out of there.

I think he’s great for her, his delivery isn’t the greatest. But with what she’s experienced and survived she has to also understand him and his struggles. Bad call, this young woman, and her child is stuck in Hell. Away from the protection of her family. With a manipulative, broke, and controlling man. All she was asking for was 2 ticket's, to a place where she could feel safe, and have family support. She's moved with this guy and his, family. She feels trapped, she is trapped, and he knows it. I heard, and understood, exactly where this young woman was coming from. Her spirit, is broken. I think her issues steam from the sexual assault. She feel ashamed and she don’t understand how to articulate her hurt and feelings. And she feel she has to get out the house because she don’t want thank about what she went through. But I do feel he hangs that over head about him coming to the rescue for son. But she she can do things in the home to make her feel good with the person she is with believe me I know because I was one of those chicks that partied to get away from the pain I felt but I was just single and not committed to anyone and I was in a relationship I let them know at the door. Sometimes it’s not good to go out all the time.
