@blu youre right . Personally i hate the " well done for taking the time to 100% the game. Now do it all over again with a slight change" because it seems like a forced way to extend the gameplay and replay value while adding little new content (galaxy pissed me off :) ) but i do like having some kind of trophy or stars to show youre achievement but its also nice to get a little something on top that you can actually use. NSMBW is the first game other than wii sports than i played so i felt great having them 5 shiny stars as it took a long time as i was still shit but after doin it again in NSMB and NSMB2 and NSMBU and NSLBU it does seem kinda meh and itd be nice to have a charavter unlock like Rosalina in 3D world. Thats why I loved Odyssey, that game is a collector and completionists dream. I love collecting so i even really like the sticker star game and have over 500 hours playing it multiple times and having different albums and stuff even tho a lot of people hated that game.
@blu i borrowed my brothers copy , played for 1 week got 99 moons all shops + 880 main + luigi balloon world rank 50 + all costumes and 9999 coins and i collected every one time coin stack, and not one time did it feel repetitive except at the very end when people keep copying each others balloon ideas.
@blu the patterns are kinda predictable. For green hat guy just hit him with cappy TWICE specifically then run away, repeat until u got him, to dodge hats use the moons gravity to jump as high as possible reduce chance of bein hit randomly. For spiky ball girl just keep running and youll dodge everything. Purple vomit is a joke just throw a cap tru the poison and then at him and jump on him. Spiky hat is hardest you just have to be fast to hit the hat, mecha boss just be careful and patient

Though it looks cool, you can’t take fall damage, and you bounce off of the ground after doing it, you can’t wall jump for some reason

This wouldn't really work as he is already a character, but maybe someone else wpuld work. Actually, that could work similarly to New Super Mario Bros U and New Super Luigi U. In Mario Bros, Luigi is a guide. In Luigi, Mario is a guide. So when playing as Luigi, Mario could take his place. Doesn't seem too crazy.
Edit: Let's just hope Oddyssey goes the way of Galaxy and gets a sequel.

Not old enough for that but the time they released nsmb2 was the best game i ever played
I remember getting so hyped for nsmb2 bc I played the crap out of the first and Wii version. I got to play the demo back in 2012 on the 3ds in GameStop and honestly thought the game was boring. I didn't have a 3ds at the time and the circle pad was so weird to me. I got 3d land before nsmb2 thinking it would be better, last year I got nsmb2. I still play it occasionally, I've warmed up to it. Didn't get a 3ds till 2015, missed some of the classic days but was there for the very last. The new 2ds xl is one of my favorite consoles and the regular 3ds is my least favorite.

for the record the 3d land conditions were off, it's all star madals in the levels, all gold flagpoles and beat every level as both Mario and luigi.
in other words you unlock the final level at 5 stars.
Shiromi you missed US/PAL Mario World. When you clear all 96 exits, the 96 on the file select gets a star in the US version, while the PAL version turns it blue. The Japanese version sadly does nothing.
The autumn theme still exists and appears if you enter the star road after clearing Funky in the Special Zone.
Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Super Mario 3d Land, and Super Mario Odyssey.

Did you know :
You can have 5 GLOWING stars if you don’t die once in Super Mario 3D Land
It's actually if you never see a Invincibility Leaf. This means in the normal world you never die five times in a level until world eight's end then you'll get a shiny star. It won't disappear as the leaves will no longer spawn.
Seeing the block once means you permanently lose the stars on that file. This can be easily avoided by closing the game from the HOME menu once it pops up.
I.E. make sure not to die 5 times and if you do just exit and restart.

@@SuperMidH I've finished the game 100% through and you can just replay the level after you beat it without grabbing the item or just don't grab it, it doesn't matter if you see it or not
But do you have the 5 shining stars? I completed my first file without them and I never touched a leaf. My second file has 0 deaths and it has the shiny stars.

The end level of Galaxy 1 should've been Odyssey's Mushroom Kingdom, complete with castle interior and doors to the boss paintings ala 64.
I remember when I collected all of the stars in SMG2, I went out and screamed when I unlocked those Green Stars.
Sadly, I have given up on collecting those stars since some of them were hard to get. Nostalgia.

I had a dream where I beat super mario advance 2 and it said "You may now play super mario advance galaxy" and the game turned into a 16 bit mario galaxy game with mario galaxy music too. But the music was 8 bit versions of the original soundtrack too. It had a title, file select and everything. I woke up kind of surprised.
Not only are the 3D Mario games so different and good, they reward you greatly

It really speaks to the genius of this series. Someone like my mom or youngest kid can play and enjoy the games to normal end, while the more insane among us can work for a deeper, much harder ending.
